2023-24 NBA Sixth Man of the Year Odds – THJ the favorite across major betting sites

THJ is leading the race for 6MOY across most major betting sites. He’s consistently been our 3rd scoring option this year, often times 2nd option with Kyrie wearing street clothes more than #11 for us.

IMO it would be a mistake to trade him unless we are getting some major scoring back in return. Even someone like Kuzma doesn’t move the needle for me as he has similar scoring numbers on worse %’s. And he is operating as a #1 option to get those numbers. Add to that the fact that Washington supposedly wants firsts along with players, and it’s a deal breaker for me.

What are your thoughts on THJ this season?

Personally I just try to steer clear of discussing or even bringing up THJ, especially in game threads. He’s the kind of guy who can prove you either right or wrong in any given game. He’s like a walking, talking three point shot, with all the value and variance that comes with it.

As he should be. I mean he isn’t the long term solution for this team as we need more defense/front court help but can’t deny he has been excellent for the mavs for the most part. Fair weather fans just don’t understand
Only should be traded for upgrades on the wing/frontcourt help

i would trade his ass for a bag of chips just because of how kidd use him as a “good defender” and make him play a lot of 4 guard line up because of it

i hate guard line up like yesterday first quarter with THJ hardy kyrie for like 5min together this make no sense but kidd love “defender prime thj”

i hate how we use him i hate is IQ soo iam sorry but trade his ass for anything

  4. It’s so crazy how as a primary 3 point shooter it varies so much from game to game. Last night, he was shit. Then next game he could go 6/8 from deep. Over the season I guess it balances out but his streaks are brutal. Of course looking at 3pt shooting % as a whole is crazy. Like Luka was 4/10 from 3 last night which on paper looks awful. But 40% 3 point shooting for a career is considered really good. 60% of the time you miss and can be considered a good 3 point shooter.

He has a good season, but I don’t think he is the kind of role player you win championships with: Bad defense, high volume not very efficient scorer, can’t create for others. With Luka and Kyrie as our main guys we need defense.

In his role as a first guy off the bench, he’s had a great season. Yes, he’ll make boneheaded plays sometimes and he’s a weak defender but he’s literally saved several games by himself this season. Just because we need to upgrade at the forward spot doesn’t mean we need to give up our depth at the guard spot.

  7. I hope some other team wants him and we can get something of value back. I really think we need to be focusing on defense & rebounding. I do not think it’s entirely a coincidence that we went to the WCF the year he was out.
