Brandon Ingram on his season high 41, team and fan support | Pelicans vs. Raptors Postgame 2/5/24

What that third quarter felt like hitting five threes in a row just catching fire like that it just felt good coming off my hands I knew once I made that uh that bank three that I was feeling pretty good um and the ball just kept finding

Me and I was able to find a open look just how funny is it to see your teammates reaction when you do start hitting threes the way you did tonight I know how much they push you to put more of them up just to when you hitting them

The way you are just to see the bench reactions yeah I mean man no matter who it is I think we all have that reaction because we just we all believe in each other um we see how you how um guys work day in and day out um guys working on on

Jumpers guys working on their defense and for the work to show um in the game it’s it’s always um it’s always a treat I think five of those threes came in like 2 minutes 45 seconds SP something like that I mean if you had similar like heaters to that three-point

Line maybe maybe a couple mid-rangers uh but not from the three-point line but like I said It felt it was good to see it felt good what you like just about the way yall were executing the offense tonight not just the threes was just the the low turnovers everybody getting

Their you know that type of stuff it was simple uh we pushed the pace um got said good ball experience we we executed and we found we trying to open shot I felt like uh my starting five was was intentional about what we were doing tonight um especially starting out in

The first quarter and everything kind of followed uh this was the Pelicans 50th game of the season you CJ and Zion this year have played I think it’s close to like 500 minutes I mean how well do you feel like you guys know each other’s games but at this point and just like

Are are comfortable out there together yeah uh well we know um we know what everybody likes to do I know what CJ likes to do I know what Z likes to do it’s just about how we can create more opportunities for that um how we can create spacing for that how we can

Continue to um to just get to that and um let guys isolate or being in actions whatever it is and um just trying to create ways to continue to do it consistently and we we’re talking about that one little stress you had where you were the scoring was down a little bit

And then you since then you had some really big offensive games I guess was that some type of adjustment for you did you feel like you had to turn up your aggression a little bit uh I guess what what’s been kind of your mindset the past couple games oh just picking my

Spots like I said whatever the game calls for um I think around that time I was seeing some um different defensive schemes I was seeing a lot of doubles I was seeing a lot of different stuff and my shot was off a little bit uh but you know just

Going back to the gym Runa um seeing where I can get my shots off seeing where I could be effective and offense and defense but you know I think and in that stretch um it forced me to do something else whether it was something on the defensive end whether it was

Getting my teammates involved whether it was rebounding whatever it was it forced me to do something else and you know eventually I got got my rhythm back a little bit and I mean not only hit 40 tonight but it do it pretty much all jumpers I think you didn’t even take a

Layup or anything like that tonight just what does that say just about the the work you put in to Kind of Perfect your jumper and just figure out how to get to your spots um it’s showing um was just confident in what I was doing

Um just shooting and being free and if I missed it moving on and you know I feel like I can make a lot of different shots on the floor so that’s what I try to go do can a night like tonight make you learn to love the three a little more I

Mean I know you have your 16 foot spots and one time when we I mean someone came up and talked about like when the Pelican shoot so many threes the record is this and you were like that’s a cool stat I guess I mean yeah I mean it’s it’s

Definitely a confidence boost I know if uh whatever like I said whatever the the defense gives me I’m continue to shoot those threes to the field they’re good I’m going continue to shoot it um I know it it definitely makes us a better team when I’m out there and I’m attempting to

Shoot threes so like I say whatever the defense gives me I’ll I’ll take it when you sat down um at the end of the third quarter and there was like a prolong Standing Ovation I mean did you soak it in any particular way did you notice anything about it um

I was just do into the game at that point I was just locked in and focus but I always remember those moments when I first got here and all the love that I got my first year here um being a new face and having a chance to um show

People who I was and I think tonight was kind of a reminder of um just how hard I work in my work show was good to see GT get a Little Love Tonight video triv kind was it was actually in the locking room when I walked in um so he’s um he’s

Um he’s been he was good for our team just a veteran a veteran voice in here every time that he stepped in here so it was good to see him again and see him get some minutes out there and still taking the game serious you know um he’s

A he’s a veteran for that Toronto Raptors team and he’s going to um do a good job with them too you saw he dunked huh huh he had a dunk he had he had a dunk you know it was good to see after he blew that first play

  1. Takes 3's, makes 3's – BI, please, be confident from behind the arc; you're a fadeaway god bro, time to show that same confidence in your long range game. The stroke is solid my dude, and your talent is obvious. We believe in you! Don't doubt any part of your game.

  2. Those 5 3s he hit in a row were all 3s he would be hesitant to take in the past & thats part of the reason he started so slowly from 3 to start the season. He was shooting 3s he wasnt used to taking. You can tell he worked hard on pullup & off the dribble 3s in the offseason & hes confident in the work he put in willing to live with the results. I remember he was at 27% about a month ago now hes at 37% which is BI. Pullups & off the dribble 3s was always the missing piece to his offense. that & his volume from 3 too he needs atleast 6 a game. Proud of my boy🔵😈
