    They need to buy if they want to stay competitive without embiid. Right now we’re a bottom 10 team without embiid

    I guess this is the benefit of having a Nick Nurse, but idk how you construct any team and build continuity, only to drop the ultimate high-usage player into it right as they enter the postseason. I can’t see it.

    I mean selfishly, as a fan, being a buyer is always more exciting lol

    Also seems like they’re interested in acquiring some solid multi-year contracts…free agency is always such a crapshoot.

    Honestly I think Murray should be who we target. Him.and Maxey should keep us competitive as an offense and not let teams focus on Maxey the entire game

    Target non-stars. Fill needed roles like shot creator for the first unit, a secondary playmaker behind Maxey, and a big who can protect the interior. If they are low-ego players, they shouldn’t mind when alpha dog Embiid (hopefully) returns in April to lead the playoff push.

    We basically need a unit that can play .500 ball for 6-8 weeks so we don’t slide into the play-in group.

    I mean if we’re being completely honest we have a lot of guys who are FA after this season, so if we have an opportunity to get some role players who are signed beyond this year we should go get them.

    Off the top of my head: Melton, Tobias, Batum, Morris, Roco, Korkmaz, and PatBev are all expiring.

    i understand why people were pissed/deflated after last few games. But I must remind you that, when fully healthy, this team has +33 rating with its starting lineup.

    Embiid and Maxey are great. But you don’t get +33 net rating without high level of contributions from your role players

    The model to build a succesful team is there. And if there is chance that Joel can come back for playoff, you have to take the chance and make some trades to improve the team
