I think if the Celtics really wanted 3 All Stars, campaigning for Porzingis would have been the easier route.
Derrick White didn’t make it, but his name recognition definitely went way up. And I think that was their true goal, along with motivating Derrick to continue to perform well

Porzingis would’ve made the team originally not as a replacement had he played more games. I appreciate his sacrifice in trying to stay healthy and ready for the playoffs

Bummer. My copium: the All Star game isn’t just a selection of the most deserving players. It’s partly that, but it’s also (maybe at it’s core) an opportunity to put the league on display.
The play style of the game itself lends itself way more to these guys than our guys. If I’m trying to put on a show, Trey against no D is one of the best things going.
I’d have loved DWhite to get some fruits for his labor. KP too. But hopefully it gets paid off with a deep run/ring. If they get a chip they aren’t gonna give 2 dookies that they missed out on being all stars.
