> Philadelphia is exploring conversations with a variety of teams, but one known target for the Sixers is Pacers guard Buddy Hield, league sources told Yahoo Sports. Hield’s $18.5 million dollar salary would be a match for several of the Sixers’ expiring contracts, and his expiring deal wouldn’t add future financial burden onto Philadelphia’s clean cap sheet for this offseason, as the Sixers have left rival teams with the impression they are still wary of taking back longterm salary at this juncture.

> Another target for the Sixers is Pistons guard Bojan Bogdanović, sources said, who is on the books for $20 million this season, but has just $2 million guaranteed for 2024-25. Detroit has long shown an interest in a reunion with Tobias Harris, league sources told Yahoo Sports, but in any deal where the Sixers bring back Bogdanović, it would seem Philadelphia doesn’t want to part with Harris.

> Alas, Detroit officials haven’t indicated to rival teams they’ll even be willing to move Bogdanović. Veteran shooting bigs Mike Muscala and Danilo Gallinari do appear to be likely trade candidates for the Pistons.

  1. Let’s get Bogey. He and Hield are both garbage defenders but Bogey has better self creation skills. I’d assume both of them would take Morris’ minutes anyways so not much of a drop off anyways.

  2. MaxeytoEmbiid

I’ll get flak for this, but yes I’d trade the crumbi cookie for Bojan if push came to shove. And at minimum, absolutely bring Buddy in here. Yeah, he sucks at defense but you can’t even scratch 95+ the last 7 games unless its GARBO time lol. Shooting is more important right now.

  3. Also from Fischer:

    > [The Sixers] are among several teams that have contacted the likes of New Orleans and Oklahoma City, sources said, attempting to trade future first-round pick swaps or packages of second-round picks to acquire extra first-round selections.

    > Even in the wake of Joel Embiid’s knee surgery, the Sixers are hoping to move a future swap to acquire more imminent first-round picks, sources said, than the first-round capital that Philadelphia currently has available.

Why would we be hunting for firsts before the deadline unless we’re targeting a significant player?

Bogdan would be great get, don’t want buddy tho

  5. Think they are trying to get a 2024 pick with the swap from the Harden deal. It allows maximum flexibility bc they can then trade all the 1sts in the future plus a 2024.

If they don’t cash in now, then after the draft they can trade both picks (if they get 1 by Thursday) this year and all the future stuff too, giving them 5 1sts to trade. Similar to what Minnesota did in the Gobert deal, it gives you the star package while making a marginal move in the interim.

If I had to guess they are trying to do both, upgrade this year but get to 5 tradeable 1sts. This was the original plan, shoutout flipping Terrance Mann.

Think they have a sense of who is available this offseason in a trade and want to get to 5 bc they know that gives them leverage since they’ll be able to take whoever into space and give back no bad money.

just to prepare everyone, bojan does only one thing, and that is shoot. hes a zero when it comes to rebounding and hes a poor defender. he’ll be cheaper than the good bogdanovich, so i guess that is something, but hes the inferior of the two

  7. Bojan over Hield strictly because of the guarantee. 2 million for us to decide whether we keep him or not.

  8. jorgelongo2

Morey gotta realize we need shooting, its the only way a mid team without Embiid can win some games, just going off from 3 from time to time.

  9. This cap flexibility shit has gotta stop nobody is coming here

  10. Ivory_Toast_

    Three guarantees in life

Death, taxes and the Sixers being linked with Buddy Hield

  11. danopie96

Hield without rim protection is going to be a disaster
