Ime Udoka after Houston Rockets fall in Indy to Pacers

The five six minute stretch to end the third start the fourth shots just not falling as they were or were there other things that had changed from the rest of the game well I think a little bit of both we offensively uh didn’t move it like we

Were you know to to get the wide open shots um we had 18 assists at at half and felt good about that and then only finished the 26 I think um you know try to do it a little bit by ourselves sit against a team that you know he just

Penetrated move it you’ll get pretty open shots as you saw a lot of the game and then defensively um not getting back in transition turnovers hurt us um scoring 25 off our 15 turnover so it was combination of all those things and didn’t get off to the best start at the

Start of the fourth you talked a lot about ball movement in Minneapolis a couple nights ago what we saw in the first half was that taking what you’ve been talking about and applying it yeah we wanted to play fast we played faster from the start we were defended well for

Two quarters uh second in the fourth and got out and ran a little bit but um you know this Indiana doesn’t you know is not known for their defense known for offense so we didn’t feel like we had to take any contested Shots tonight just continue to penetrate kick make the easy

Read and you’ll get wide open looks and that’s what we got and felt like that was a positive in the first half like I mentioned 18 assists on on 30 made field goals and so uh didn’t really duplicate as well in the second half um at times

And then um the turnovers like I mentioned trying to play in the crowd or thread the needle go for the Home Run pass and they got 25 points of our 15 second career start for a men what did you see from him kind of laying it all the line especially in thatth quarter

Yeah good activity uh good overall game both sides I mean uh everybody’s going to have mistakes here and there and um you know some communication things that we got to improve on but you know he was good overall um got very winded you know he’s given a lot of effort out there and

Tried to give him a quick spill on the fourth to get him back in um timeouts came a handy there but you know contined growth from him and and solid overall game just got to be a little more sharp with you know a few defensive coverages and communication and taking care of the

Ball Jabari and jam combined for I think 11 last game and I think it’s 50 tonight what do we read into guys bouncing back like that yeah I mean guys have pride and they’re you know they don’t have their best game they’re going to try to come back with the proper mindset and

Effort and so it’s good to see that obviously Jabar is extremely aggressive early Jaylen got to going a little bit there as well but um you know that’s who they are they you know prideful guys and and understood that we didn’t have our best game in Minnesota and so came back

With the proper effort tonight than thank you

Ime Udoka talks to reporters after the Houston Rockets fell on the road to the Indiana Pacers on 2/6/2024. Jalen Green scored 30 points, Dillon Brooks added 23 and Jabari Smith Jr. and Alperen Sengun each added 20, but the Rockets couldn’t edge out the high-powered Pacers. Udoka lamented the ball movement and the transition defense in the second half.

  1. Keep trying hard to be a Good Coach, your on the JoB trainee.. you must Blame yourself on This…. Don't know your Agenda.,.

  2. We are terrible defensively! We keep giving up big 3rd quarter and tate and amen are not going to give anything offensively. How tf do we give up 19 to Mconnell! Thats not coaching that effort.
