Why The Chris Paul & Blake Griffin Clippers Never Won An NBA Title | STORY MODE

From top to bottom the Clipper roster y’all had Talent everywhere you know what I’m saying but y’all just could never get over that hump so I want to know what was the issue that caused that Squad to go under underachieve immaturity and I think that and and the

People from that team have spoke about it before but I was kind of like the outsider so I got on that team late and from the door it’s just was you can see the conflict and personalities and I think that’s what makes our team special now is because we actually roll with

Each other like we We Vibe with each other everybody likes each other but you see how a team can be um kind of push back in interiorly when when when moments like that happen when you’re when you’re up 3-1 and you see like people just come back on you it’s

Because you start separating in adversity um we had all the talent the only other team that I thought was on our level was like the Cavs that year when you had Caleb and and Brun and and Kyrie like they were forming that and CP Blake they were all playing well but

Like you could just see the rift in personalities DeAndre and Blake were we call them the twins they were on one side CP was on the other side and it just didn’t mix so they could have probably been one of the like the the greatest teams in in in like of that era

But it’s just the personalities they just couldn’t get over some M maturity humps um to be able to play together and and to do it the right way and we didn’t had that much time um we go up 3-1 you got that that animal in James Harden mhm

Um and one game just gave them a momentum and then now you got to go to Houston and you got to deal with that atmosphere James is on a tear and then you just that just just start snowballing and then once the adversity comes then you kind of guys don’t really

Rock with each other like that so then like you everybody just starts going to their own corner and then it just starts getting worse and worse so like we had the talent we just didn’t have the connectivity as a team um and there was no way to get because it’s the

Personalities just didn’t didn’t work well together mhm talk cuz you was there with with with a prime Blake Griffin like what was that like up close to see him like cuz you we see in games C but you see in practice like what what was that like being around him as a

As as his his prime years well phenomenal dude number one personality wise like just a great he’s funny yeah but Blake is awesome great dude on and off the court played extremely hard um like in practice wise like my they try to like they tried my first practice

They tried to like throw a lob to put me in a basket like that’s the stuff that they was doing but he had a great Vibe and like him and deandre’s friendship they rode the practice together like they were attached the hip every day and

He was just he was diligent at his craft you understand he came in as an athlete he would shoot every day and try to get better at at um at like being a mid-range shooter and then and then also becoming a three-point shooter so he worked extremely hard and just loved

Playing basketball man like he just just he he competed at a high level he had he could make plays and and and he had the brain to be able to like pick up our defenses and and be effective without his athleticism um so he was he was he

Was he was super dope to watch like not only just be an athlete but also like to try and get better um try and study the game and also like find ways to pick up our defenses like it it was cool man like that man being in La too like he

Was he his personality was big and off the court like was great with the with with the fans and like with his personality off the floor so great he was he was a dope teammate D damn Chris Paul practice all the time after practice doing them dunks lobs no that’s

Just what that’s just what Chris has a gift to do like just to put the ball where it needs to go and to make people better um Chris Chris would work before practice and break work after practice like you understand what I’m saying like they were like oil and water they didn’t

They just didn’t they they they just didn’t fit and Chris saw it one way and Blake saw it another way like and you just you just see like just these two personalities don’t don’t mix but they but when it comes to game time they make some moments and and as a teammate you

You you’re part of the moments and then you just you hear the conversations like and they just and wow they just thre a lob off the backboard they still arguing about something and that and that’s just like like bro it it wasn’t even worth it

  1. Lob City always ran into some type of injury OR just a flatout better team.. yall forget the powerhouses that existed in the west at the same time.. OKC, Spurs, Warriors, Rockets etc.. Lob City wasn’t better than any of those squads back then, even at their peak.

  2. All this personality stuff I'm sure played a role… but I feel like people overrate the fuck out of those Clipper teams.

They were NEVER the best team in the West.. so idk why people think they were supposed to win.

They had garbage wing play (the most important position at the time), a terrible bench (PLEASE don't talk to me about Jamal Crawford.. entirely overrated gunner that could get you some Sixth Man awards.. but ask him to actually win games and be a plus player on the floor and that's a totally different story).. and they also had TERRIBLE injury luck.

Through the whole Lob City era, they only lost one series to a team they should have beat.. and that was 2015 against Houston (a series where CP missed the start, and played hurt though the rest).

But yeah… there was never a time when they were better than San Antonio, Oklahoma City, and then later Golden State. They were never the best team in the West at any point.

  3. Lob city was a highlight reel team. If you thought they were actually gonna do something, then you obviously don't know basketball, lol

  4. Why? They weren’t good enough. End of story. People thought they had enough talent but they never got even close. It’s not like they were close like celtics/miami are in recent years. It’s not something small that was holding them back. They weren’t good enough

  5. He lied about James Harden. James got bencher in the 4th in one of those pivotal games. Jason Terry, Dwight Howard and Josh Smith went nuts out there and eventually James got his shit together.

  6. CP3 is why the team took off, I was a season ticket holder and it was night and day. Blake should have realized that and let CP3 lead the team, instead his ego smashed it all and ended what could have been something great.

  7. Everytime I hear someone talk about this team, they always mention Chris Paul being one of the main reasons it feel apart, indirectly though.

  8. Cris was supposed to be the bigger person but his ego ruined it. This man had nothing negative to say about Blake so I’m assuming it was Cris the politician Paul😂😂can’t work with em, can’t win with em😭😭shoutout Coach Singletary.

  9. Doc Rivers couldn't make adjustments per usual. Had the the rockets down bad and let a washed Josh Smith beat them.

  10. cohosts didnt have great chemistry with the guest this week, dahntay gotta go hit up either all the smoke or the og's ngl

  11. Playoff injuries killed their chances:
2012 2nd Round vs. SAS-Griffin out with severely sprained knee
    CP out with groin pull.
    2013 Playoffs 1st round vs
Memphis: Griffin out with ankle sprain
    Limited minutes in gms 5&6.
2015 Playoffs 2nd round vs. Houston: CP out with hamstring injury. Crawford limited minutes.
2016 Playoffs 1st round vs. Portland: CP and Griffin both lost for the remainder of playoffs in gm4. CP with a metaparsel finger injury and Griffin with a quad injury.
2017 Playoff 1st round vs. UTA: Griffin suffers toe injury. Out for series.
Doc Rivers always said you got to be lucky to win a title
    His Clippers never were!

  12. Been a fan since 02’ man that lob city team was SPECIAL but it was also such a disappointing time. Before playoffs started clip fans knew we were either going to choke or our star players would be injured. Smh great highlights and moments but I wish we could have seen Jamal, Barnes, Dj, Blake and Cp get their ring as clippers.

  13. Turn to Jesus people he died for your sins. Repent of what the New testament describes as sin. Believe the gospel get baptized and obey the teachings of Jesus. The gospel and the teachings of Jesus are documented in Matthew Mark Luke and John. Jesus is the only way to be saved God bless you all. If you have faith in Jesus through your faith you will live life with him as your example.,.,
