Breath and that maybe Marcus and I saw eye to eyee about some a few things okay but at the same time he was there being a proud Bulls fan dad sure sure you know giving his child that experience you know it couldn’t have been more than maybe four or five-year-old daughter and

Was you know she had a a Benny the Bull gold chain around her neck she was up and screaming and clap it and like that’s that stuff is hard to be cynical about and you gave with the bill right Joe did you look at her and go enjoy it

Now kid that’s all you’re getting that’s what he was thinking I guarantee that was in his brain I promise you I know Matt that’s was in his brain dog nobody is above the enjoy it now this not going to mean anything did she touch the Goon

IO and and the young guys out there Julian Phillips you know those kind of guys but watching Kobe man that’s the future bro like it was the fourth quarter I was like give it to Kobe the entire fourth quarter I was just over there scream give it to Kobe give it to

Kobe give it to Kobe give it to Kobe the way that he played man man the first half just off didn’t have it turning it over couldn’t hit shot missing free throws he just did not have it that second half and especially that fourth quarter he lost his mind the

See him get too high or get too low that was not the case tonight there were times when he got fouls in that first half and you saw him cuz where we were sitting just yelling at the crowd because he couldn’t believe he got a foul called on him like he was

Passionate tonight and then he would hit those threes and just turn around and like woo and just talk because he was on fire like I want to see him on fire this is the stuff that gets me talking about him for most improved player this is something that gets me talking about him

Why he should be there for Allstar Weekend when he has these kind of games man like and they’ve been so consistent like Kobe is just it’s been Kobe’s team and I love the way he just took over in the fourth quarter it was great uh golden force in the comment saying Kobe

From the free throw line for God’s sakes but the Bulls in the second half that’s I think that’s what what made it so good Matt is we’re used to seeing the Bulls perform in the first half and then not perform in the second half or we’re seeing we used to them seeing getting

Blown out in the first half and then it just continue as the second half goes on it didn’t happen and interestingly I mean this was kind of the similar script first half and even then second half to the Kings loss on Saturday like we saw

The Bulls go down by 30 to that Kings team whose offense was just carving up the Bulls defense like warm butter on a hot day and then the Bulls in the second half were like oh you know what like let’s actually try let’s try and make this a

Game and they did and the comeback you know came up a little bit short and then tonight again the same thing the Bulls surrendered 69 first half points tonight nice nice but you’re down 20 at half yes and you’re like oh again again these are two very good Western Conference teams

Yeah that you know are are coming through town you’re like well this is going to be tough yeah and tonight the Bulls were like okay we’re going to spot you 20 23 I think was the biggest deficit yes and then they were like watch this yeah and then they came back

I mean it it’s hard it’s hard to shake your head at it’s hard to be cynical about yeah but mostly because Kobe mostly mostly because Kobe and how funny is it that you know we we go we we bring our our fellow Bulls fans we have a fun takeover night and it’s

A crunch time game yet again and the Bulls have a final possession yet again tie game yep and Demar takes the last shot and doesn’t get it and we go to OT yeah yeah there were so many bulls fans in that stadium and so many at home

Wherever you are watching that game on TV being like what will it take yeah for Kobe to get the last shot I was screaming what will it take I didn’t understand I and shout out to to Demar who played lights out also matched Kobe’s 33 points tonight because it came in that overtime

He just lost it in that in that overtime he went crazy I believe Demar was 17 of 18 at the free throw line tonight that’s a Demar d r roen game baby that’s how it goes just classic dear saying give me mad damn free throws but but you’re

Absolutely right cuz it was Kobe’s fourth quarter clearly yes he’s the one that did it for you so every time down in those clutch moments I was like give him the ball let’s let’s let him bring it home or not bring it home but put it

On Kobe and in last few possessions you didn’t really see him touch the basketball and I don’t like that but that last two seconds I just knew cuz at first Dear was the man standing out of bounds like he was going to inbound it and I remember saying uh to Saleem shout

Out to Saleem shout out to his fiance I remember saying to selem like well he shouldn’t inbound the ball you don’t take away that option at least have keep the defense honest on him right and then when he put Caruso there I was like okay cool and I just immediately assumed that

Kobe was getting that ball because I saw Demar D rozan tried to take it out y then when I saw Kobe go that way away from the ball and I said uhoh I was like this is dear time right here and then yeah then it went dear and they blocked

It but again credit to Demar for doing what he did in that overtime man he made some amazing shots in that fourth in that uh OT man so he he brought it home for the Bulls abely the dichotomy of bulls fans always amazing always apparent in the comments it’s Jeff Crook

Saying it sounded like people groaned on that last possession when they switched from DeMar inbounding to Caruso and then right after Jeff Wesley in the comments saying by the way I Lov that fake out trying to make the Wolves think D rozan was going to be the inbounder on that

Last play in the fourth and you know maybe if they do that last second Switcheroo then you you got Minnesota you know scrambling right before an inbounds play Thinking okay now we got to keep an eye on Kobe and now we got to keep an eye on dear and maybe dear’s a

Decoy it ends up being that well no that you know Caruso takes the inbounds pass he gets it to Dear toar didn’t hit the shot I mean even on a win an overtime win against one of the best teams in the league yeah and we’re still sitting here

Talking about like so Kobe versus dear in the fourth quarter like it’s funny because I it just worked out great and it’s and we’re gonna get it it’s other guys we’re definitely going to get into that I know we’ll get into in the second half of things guys

But it was just honest great to see that Twan game work yeah you know and it was like I think that’s when you can accept these things again winning cures all and this is where you can accept those kind of things you watch Kobe bring you back

Bring you to the brink of getting the game tied and getting a shot to win it in the fourth quarter then you saw demard de R Ro and bring it on Home in that in that overtime for you that’s a great you know way for it to work

Together for those guys like you said Demar 333 and five with four steals uh by the way shout out to him for that and Kobe with his 335 and seven assists he had a steal and Demar was a plus 12 Kobe was a plus seven like they played well

Off of each other and the reason they played well is because they got the hell out of each other’s way yeah like Kobe he clearly was like nope it’s Kobe sign and it was out of the way the there was a reason the lane was so wide open cuz

Just look really bad and then they have games like this where everything starts off terribly and then everything goes right and Kobe goes nuclear and Demar goes crazy and yeah I mean it was it was so interesting um I thought especially given the fact that they started B and

Drummond together which I’m sure you guys have already hit on here because that was kind of the main storyline coming into the game going against that big lineup That Timber rols Run with Carl Anthony towns and Rudy go bear so just a interesting kind of funky game um

But yeah I mean you really got to credit the way that they fought back again a 30-point deficit uh against the Kings which they were not quite able to overcome but then this one was just 22 and they got there and wanted it over

Time so kind of a crazy game but uh yeah I think they were all feeling pretty relieved and and just kind of pleased with with that caler of win in the locker room after the game well walk us through your perspective watching Kobe white and what he did in that second

Half for the Bulls cuz it was that was for me the game for him uh that was the onthe map kind of game because of who he was doing it against and the way that he did it uh just describe to me though just watching him in that second half

Your your feelings on Kobe yeah I mean I think and I feel like I’m gonna answer this kind of the same way that Billy answers it whenever people ask him about Kobe’s progress but it’s like it doesn’t feel like any single one of these games has really been like the Kobe game or

The Kobe moment because he’s just been like really good for you know basically this entire season say for the first 12 or 15 games um he has just really leveled up in every way like the way that he commenced the game I thought you know they put Jaden MC on it he’s 610

He’s like a all world you know first team all defense caliber Defender and that was part of the reason why Kobe started the game so slowly but then he Bound Away whether it was on the ball um there were a couple plays where you know they were running basically these high

Horn sets where V and drumman would bow screen for him at the top of the key and he would be able to use and navigate those and he would pull up for three I mean he was seven to eight on threes in the second half for uh for a stretch

There so um just the way that he has has been able to like find Avenues to to get himself going if the shot wasn’t falling um or just like you know create offense for himself um you know the way that he was able to do in the second half I just

I feel like he’s really uh just putting himself in the best position to succeed and it’s not so dependent on whether or not the ball is going in uh he had a huge impact in this game in just so many different ways so it’s been just the the

Work that he’s put in over these years over this season and just the way that he continues to just gradually progress and get better and better it’s just been really impressive will I’m not saying one game even impressive of a win as it was against a quality opponent absolves Billy Donovan

Of any faults and flaws that he’s guilty of this season um but Billy haters are are drinking their own tears tonight because he went with a big man starting lineup combining V and Drummond to counteract this you know gobear Town’s uh daunting Minnesota Timberwolves front court and it paid off Vu finished with

24 points on a pretty efficient shooting night even knocked down two of his four threes he did uh he and Drummond combined for eight blocks tonight and Drummond did himself a 16 and 16 points in boards and Billy also won himself a couple challenges tonight yes I’m curious uh what were Billy’s biggest

Takeaways uh when yall heard from him after this game kind of talking through what happened the Bulls getting down big and the way that they came back how did Billy see tonight’s game from his eyes I mean it’s just about getting stops like they were shooting I think they

Were 10 of 19 on threes in the first half and I think that’s exactly what the kings were uh the other night and it’s like when you’re giving up those kind of looks and you’re not able to get stops you got to take it out of the basket

Every single time down you can’t get anything in transition you got to walk it up and you’re playing against the best defense in the league who’s got you know Rudy go be down there you’ve got Jen McDaniel got Anthony Edwards who’s an incredible shot blocking guard you’ve

Got cat who’s like another I mean he’s not like a necessarily a scary room protector but he’s huge and so it’s just really tough to like grind out points in the half court and then when you start to get some stops and you can play in transition you can get play with a

Little bit more Pace um you can do some more cretive things but I thought Billy did a really good job especially in the second half kind of adjusting to the way that the Wolves were guarding them by putting Drummond and W together in pick and rolls and making uh the Wolves kind

Of figure out which of those two guys they were going to switch on where they were going to help off of and Kobe made some really good plays Demar made some really really good plays uh so I I think it was just kind of everything coming

Together but to me it’s like they just can’t have these halves where they just give up a 20-point lead or 30o lead it’s like it’s just such a bad recipe um and they were able to get themselves back out of it both of these nights had really competitive games the fans were

Super into it super involved super excited uh about that comeback uh and that’s great but it’s like there just has to be more consistency and so I think that was kind of the takeaway from Billy is like look we did some really good things you got to credit B and

Drummond for I mean they they started practicing that lineup together today and they ran it and practice for a little bit and that was it and so they figured out you got to credit the players for that um I thought everybody individually kind of pulled pulled the

You know held up their end of the bargain especially in that second half and uh that’s kind of what they need to get but I really do think that Billy was doing a lot of tinkering today he had a couple of challenges he challenged one uh play like in the first five minutes
