Ranking The Top 10 Point Guards In The NBA Right Now…

Here we are once again halfway through another NBA season which means we’ve arrived at a tradition we do here on the channel called rankings week with how rapidly things can change in the NBA world it’s important to monitor how players have improved or declined every year so I like to publish positional

Rankings twice per year once in the off season after the dust has settled and once halfway through the next season as always we’ll be going through all five positions ranking the top 10 players at each spot with a few honorable mentions discussed for each that just missed the

Cut and today we’ll be starting with arguably the strongest position of all the point guards before we start though I want to thank exter for sponsoring today’s video xter is known for inventing the first trackable wallet and now they’re on a mission to upgrade the rest of your carry Essentials as well by

Hand before we get into the top 10 we’ll start with a few honorable mentions that just missed the cut and the point guards that fall into this category are Tyrese Maxi James Harden lamelo ball and Kade Cunningham this is an insanely stacked group to be landing in honorable

Mentions and it was definitely really hard leaving a few of them out of the top 10 but as I said in the intro the point guard position is easily the most stacked in the entire league filled with All-Star caliber players Maxi is on track to make his first All-Star team

This year Harden has elevated the Clippers to new heights since his trade Kate Cunningham is one of the few bright spots in Detroit and the same can be said about lamelo ball in charl so while they’re on the outside looking in for now they all have the talent to crack

The top 10 on their best day in the near future perhaps now to start things off at number 10 and work our way up to the number one spot we have Damen Lillard of the Milwaukee Bucks for most of his career he’s been a top five or even top

Three player on this list but in his first season in Milwaukee he has not quite been at that same level he’s still been very good and he also just got selected to start in the All-Star game but that choice felt more based on his reputation than based on his production

This year because it definitely hasn’t been the best version of Damen Lillard that we’ve seen his defense leaves a lot to be desired but since his arrival in Milwaukee they’ve been a top three offensive team in the league and he’s contributing about 25 points per game

But shooting just 42% from the field and 34% from three so while he does crack the top 10 he’s well below where he used to be next at number nine we have Jamal Murray of the Denver Nugget the Jamal Murray conundrum is easily the most difficult one to figure out on this

List because he’s the kind of player who plays his best in the biggest moments but coasts a lot through regular season games his individual production regular season wise isn’t blowing you away putting up about 21 points and 6 and a half assists a night but he’s incredibly

Efficient and after last year’s run to the title he has proven to be someone you can trust when the lights are brightest up next at number eight we have dear and fox of the sac ACO Kings fox seems to get better and better every year and is easily having the best

Season of his career this season for a Sacramento Squad looking to make the playoffs for a second consecutive year in a row he’s averaging a career-high 27 A2 points which ranks eighth best in the NBA he’s dishing out about six assists per game and he’s not only shooting more

Threes per game than ever before but he’s also knocking them down at a more efficient rate than ever before in his career making 39% of his shots from Deep he must have been working hard on that part of his game this summer because it’s paying dividends and now that he’s

Such a threat from deep it allows him to use his blazing speed to get to the rim much easier as well next up at number seven we have johnar of the Memphis Grizzlies Morant was also a tough one to rank in these particular rankings because he really didn’t get to play

Much on the court this year he started the season suspended for 25 games then suffered a season ending injury after just nine games back from it and he was still working towards finding his Groove in those nine games he’s been a player trending upward on these lists for the

Last few seasons so he’s going to have to earn it back next year to get back to where he was but he’s also proven that he is one of the best point guards in the league at his best up next at number six we have Trey young of the Atlanta

Hawks Trey is one of the most productive players in the entire league in terms of numbers in the Box Score but his play style has come under Fire for a few years in a row and the Hawks as a whole continue to Trend in the wrong direction

27 points and 11 assists per game is amazing but he’s one of the worst defenders in the league and his usage has a history of isolating teammates so you have to find a middle ground on him next at number five we have Jaylen Brunson of the New York Knicks I’ll say

It right now Brunson got snubbed from starting in the All-Star Game this year he should have been the choice over Damen Lillard but he’ll still be a reserve so it’s not the end of the world he’s scoring 26 and 1 12 points per game and his ability to beat you from all

Three levels at an insanely efficient rate is what makes him and the Knick team so dangerous he’s so fundamentally sound he controls the pace he plays at and rarely gets forced out of control his footwork is second to none at the position he’s a 42% shooter from deep

And he has an unreal mid-range game up next at number four we have Tyrese halberton of the Indiana Pacers Tyrese halberton already made an All-Star game last year but this season he and his Pacers Squad are looking like a group that could actually make life very

Difficult for one of the top seeds in the playoffs he’s putting up 24 points and a league leading 12 and 1 half assists per game he’s shooting the ball a ridiculous 49% from the field and 40% from three his playmaking and ability to push the pace has run quite a few teams

Out of the gym and he’s obviously the biggest reason why the Pacers have the number one ranked offense in the the NBA this year next up at number three we have Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors this marks the first time in a very long time that Curry has not been

Ranked in the top two of these lists and with it we’re starting to really see a Changing of the Guard at the top don’t get me wrong Curry has still been an elite Superstar this season but you can also tell that he is starting to lose a

Step even if it’s ever so slightly and his quote unquote losing a step is still better than most other point guards his shooting ability isn’t going anywhere still being a high volume 40% three-point shooter and when he heats up good luck shutting him down but this year more than ever he’s operating more

As an off ball shooter than a primary Creator and his play isn’t enough to make up for the Warriors blatant struggles across the board as they currently sit in 12th Place in the Western Conference standings next up at number two we have sheay gilis Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder sgaa has

Legitimately put himself into the MVP conversation this year leading leading the Thunder to new heights very few thought were even possible for them before the year started they’re tied with the Timberwolves for first place in the Western Conference standings right now at the time of making this video and

Shay is clearly the engine that makes the team go he’s the third leading scorer in the League this year putting up 31 points per game and he’s making 55% of his shots which is absurd efficiency for a volume scoring guard he gets to his spots with ease he elevates

And comfortably knocks down shots over contests and his finishing ability is as good as it gets plus with how much defensive attention he gets it makes the lives of those around him so much easier and finally the number one point guard in the league right now is Luca donic of

The Dallas Mavericks the timing of this video could not be any better as Luca had just dropped a mindboggling 73 points in a game a few days ago and it fully encapsulates how good of a oneman offensive Force he is 34 and 1/2 points per game nine assists 8 and 1 half

Rebounds better shooting splits than he’s ever had in his career unbelievable body control from all three levels and a Keen Eye with the passing talent to find his man when the defense focuses all of their attention on him makes him the choice for the top point guard in the

NBA today and with that being said that’s all I have for you today make sure to like the video subscribe to the channel and comment down below how you would rank the point guards right now thanks for watching and I’ll see you all next time time

  2. Halliburton is a lot better then Curry , he fell of a lot this season. Everyone blaming the team but he just isn’t the same. Halliburton is doing amazing rn Steph isn’t even a starting all star.

  3. The Point Guard Position’s Evolution Over The Years Is F 🔥 My Fav PG Right Now Is Tyrese Halliburton Love His Style Of Play !

  4. I don’t think it’s fair to put Dame at 10 when you’re basing that ranking solely on what he’s done this season, but you included Jamal Murray (basing it off his previous playoff production) and Ja Morant (who has hardly played at all this season). This confuses me – is this list based on how they’re doing this season or based on their career as a whole?

  5. HERE'S MY TOP 10 (2023-24)

    #1) S Gil-Alex
    #2) Doncic
    #3) Steph
    #4) Lilliard

    #10) J.Murray

NOTE: Ja Morant has not played enough games for this list ,but otherwise he would probably be a top 3-5 player!!

  6. I have no idea what you are basing this on, you are all over the place. If it’s not about lifetime achievement then Curry shouldn’t be as high and Morant shouldn’t be on the list, if it’s just about this year. If it’s about more than just this year, Harden should definitely be in the top ten. I would definitely switch up a couple spots and change the order quite a bit. I wish you would provide some context for how you are making these lists because as it is, this list is just a jumbled mess in my opinion with no underlying logic.

  7. Idk what games you’ve been watching but Trae has been great in Defense and is honestly better than a lot of people on the list defensively because he has to be
