“The Boston Celtics are sending Dalano Banton and their 2024 first round pick to the Toronto Raptors for Bruce Brown and cash considerations”

Does he play tonight?
Cap gurus out there what teams have a filler and first rounder to give up?
New York seems like the obvious one with Milwaukees pick next year.
nath999
Lol don’t we already know it’s the Knicks?
The only offers we are going to be looks at are 1st round picks or a young prospect.
ZoroChopper10
It’s the Knicks

Isn’t this just an excerpt from Grange’s report yesterday saying the Knicks offered a first rounder? Maybe I’m getting mixed up but pretty sure it’s already known the Knicks have supposedly offered a 2024 frp, but we want one for 2025 I believe.

Would be interested if this gets done today and we focus tomorrow on other deals like Boucher, Thad, Porter and Trent.

So 2 or 3 teams are offering a first rounder so far based off these “sources” that have been popping up over the last few days on Reddit. So close a fucking deal already and all of Reddit will help drive him to the airport

Oh christ i thought mystery teams were just MLB related

Almost guaranteed to be one of the 2024 1sts the Knicks have (theres and Dallas)
Dallas offering the only 1st they can trade currently (2027) for BB seems highly unlikely

Yes, I need a bidding war 🙏

Weak draft, strong draft, doesnt matter. Great players come from all points in all drafts and we’ll potentially have up to 5 chances to get some.

I didn’t know Jon Heyman covered basketball now. Mystery team my ass

I’m inclined to take it right away but Masai must be conjuring up something for him to hold out…..

A boat’s a boat, but a mystery box could be anything. It could be a boat!

Listening to Woj pod, he was saying that there are not a lot of sellers, but there are a lot of buyers. But the buyers don’t have enough assets to pry away some of these guys from teams that are on the fence about selling, and that they will have more this offseason just because of Stepien rule and the 2031 picks opening up. So a lot of these sellers are just going to wait it out it seems (Hawks, Wizards).
But that means, if you’re the Raptors and you’ve already decided on selling, it’s not inconceivable that Bruce Brown is the best available guy in the market at a reasonable price of a future first, whereas other teams are asking for 2 firsts for a similar impact player.
Which could lead to a mini bidding war. Like we should be able to get a first and a filler. But who’s going to pony up the best “quality” player or additional assets to get it done, and I bet Masai is waiting until closer to the deadline to decide.
I think Knicks, Lakers, Kings, Thunder and Mavericks would all be interested, and all have at least 1 first to trade. Maybe some of these teams are holding out on a bigger fish, but as soon as they realize there’s no Dejounte or Finney Smith or Kuzma available, suddenly Bruce Brown ain’t so bad.
