Unless they have inside info of a star wanting to come to LA, this is an insane gamble when you have to pay DLO.

Also Mitchell has made it very clear that he only wants NY lol

    >Vanderbilt doesn’t need surgery

    🥳

We knew this but still. Hopefully, this isn’t “Yeah, he actually needs surgery” six weeks from now.

  3. GutsTheSwordsman

ultimate smokescreen or the Lakers are the dumbest org UNLESS the FO have talked to LBJ, AD, e.t.c.. and have secured that the 3rd star is coming for real. (which is a fucking gamble)

  4. Any_Wrongdoer_9796

At least fire Darvin to appease Lebron then.

  5. MethodMan_

Not shocking honestly. Prices suck. If they overpay, no one would be happy. Sometimes you just cant do anything besides minor moves.

  6. I wonder if Curry could be an option.

Reaves, Rui, contract filler, 3 firsts and 3 swaps.

    Is it enough?

  7. NotGonnaGetCaught

He better re-sign this summer if he opts out

  8. Bigpoppalos

Thing is who will be available this summer? And how would we outbid other teams with more to offer?

  9. kasaan110

lol Rob is trying to sell the public on dreams of the summer again. Lord lebron is gonna leave man

  10. Already searching the buyout market and options for next off-season is just good due diligence.

  11. Sasinovic

Then our season is over. Maybe we can win 1 round in PO and thats it. DLO will 10000% deliver a stinker series

Man. My heart just sank. Without a big move (doesn’t have to be for Dejounte, specifically), the Lakers won’t even make a splash this season. And if this is the best they can do while Bron and AD are both playing like MVP contenders…Then everything will get dismantled in the offseason. Bron will certainly leave.

  13. awibasedgod

Y’all are aware the Lakers cant put a gun to other team’s head and force them to trades right?

  14. CultExterminator

Does LeBron opt out or request a trade? Other than Philly there aren’t many contending teams that can sign him to a max deal.

  15. FeminismIsTheBestIsm

Normally I’d call BS but Pelinka is in his bag rn. He’s dialed in big time and IDK I sorta feel like he wants to trade something insane really soon after the WCF run just to show LeBron, and the league, that he’s better then ever and counting him out is a mistake. The best revenge against the league rn is to make the biggest trade on the planet, something others can’t compete with. Not even fucking the Celtics will outshine a second masterpiece within a back to back season. Just my 2 cents.

“Wait till next year” is just…. Depressing. Third star in the summer? There’s no guarantees, especially when it comes to health.

  17. Advanced-Intention30

Lakers need to stop trading picks. Team isn’t about Lebron and I love Lebron. It’s AD team now so start building the team around him and quit wasting our picks. So many terrible front office decisions the last few years and we the fans keep paying for it.

  18. Infinite_Cap_853

You know your roster is bad when you’re down to hoping that Cam Reddish returns soon. If they really stand pat at the trade deadline then I’m willing to bet that this is the end of the LeBron era.

  19. thunderHAARP

I like the idea but even fully healthy we haven’t gelled as a group like the nuggets who have been together for years. That’s the big advantage the nuggets have over every contender. Same coach, same core

  20. Granpa2021

I guess no Gabe Vincent takers. I don’t blame other teams

  21. vicvega88

Are there any Cs out there that are worth making a move for?

  22. Fat_Shaming_Works_

Woj really fell off man lol dude is really just regurgitating stuff that we already know

  23. Background_Nature_32

I remember the good ol days when it used to be Bust or Chip

  24. ObviousTruth12

That doesn’t mean you can’t make small trades for needed shooting and a 5.

  25. Apart-Bad-5446

If Vanderbilt is out for the season, I think it’s a wrap for the season.

  26. isit65outsideor

Lakers will have 5 picks to trade this summer if you include swaps. This is the right move. There is no trade out there that gets this team to the finals. Making lateral moves is pointless under this coaching staff as well.

  27. turtleneck360

If there is behind the scene channel talk that Donovan Mitchell wants to come here, then sure. But otherwise it’s risky as hell. Time isn’t on our side.

  28. iiivoted4kodos

Trying for a 3rd star is gonna turn into trying for a 2nd once Bron opts out.

  29. ControlForward5360

Gabe Vincent and 2 2nds for Troy brown and muscala is gunna be what we end up with I swear 🥲. Well at least they are playing it smart
