Then two first round picks one in this upcoming draft which is top eight protected just given the magic aren’t necessary lock to make the playoffs and then the 2027 first when the full effects of this trade should kick in uh it’ll be top five protected so uh the

Links between these two teams come from Bleach report as they have mentioned that the magic are after point guards to upgrade their backc Court uh in that sense um Malcolm Brogden and afgh Simons have been names that they’ve been linked to uh malcol brogen’s the more likely

One however Anthony Simons is the big kind of home run move that would really jolt the Magic in theory up the standings when you look at Anthony Simons he’s averaging 23.2 points per game alongside a career best 5.3 assist which would help provide some extra facilitation uh to the Orlando Magic

Lineup he’s shooting 39% from three on nearly nine attempts per game which is something uh very noteworthy given that the Orlando Magic currently make the least amount of Threes in the NBA at 10.7 below Detroit the Lakers and the 76ers who are all definitely not renowned for their three-point shooting

And then as a whole uh they have the third worst 3point percentage too so so it’s clear that getting someone like Anthony Simons would really uh supercharge this offense uh he would come in and help guys like France Vagner and poo banero who have had quite a load

To carry and they had that 16 and seven start and were looking really good but quite clearly some of the holes on their roster which is of course a little bit of playmaking in this kind of uh you know pseudo third option for them uh the

Magic as a whole on offense they seventh uh in the league uh seventh last in the league in terms of off defensive rating obviously it’s their defense which has um made them uh really uh relevant in the east in terms of uh fighting for a playoff spot as they currently Hold the

Top 10 defense so adding someone like Anthony Simons to the lineup will definitely help given that the backc court uh stocks aren’t necessarily strong at the moment with jayen sugs not necessarily being where some expected him to be at this point in his career and then Marquel fultz and Gary Harris
