PISTONS UPSET KINGS 133-120 BEHIND IVEY’S CAREER HIGH 37PTS, DUREN 20&15, BURKS 25! NO CADE OR BOGEY

[Applause] Welcome to the Piston fanatic I’m your host Dave Dalton and I’m excited to share my passion and perspective of our Detroit Pistons as we go on this Fantastic Voyage together I’ve been a DieHard piston fan since the days of Dave Bing and Bob laner I’ve also been

The varsity basketball coach of a very successful program in northern Michigan thank you for listening please sub subscribe and like Detroit basketball they did it again 133 to 120 our Detroit Pistons went into Sacramento and knocked off the Kings short-handed behind Jaden Ivy 37 points 19 in the fourth quarter

That’s his career high and Jaylen durran 20 points 15 rebounds six assists and Alec Burks 25 points seven rebounds and Sasser was also phenomenal tonight too he had 18 points so that was a huge win we were playing without Cade without bogie without Stu no Monty Morris he’s

Traded Knox has traded so he wasn’t there assar spray his ankle part way through the game he came back and played Ivy got his third foul with few minutes to go in the second quarter so things weren’t looking good um we ended this half and a good run but we ended up

Ended up getting up by 15 we were head by 15 points Midway through the third quarter and then all of a sudden by the end of the third quarter uh sabonis hit a three at the buzzer that put them up by one so it was a a real battle for our

Guys they were playing a lot of minutes some of the guys did but it was just a huge win and a gutsy win for us to C their Court once again we didn’t get didn’t get any breaks from the officials I can tell you that uh once Duran jumped

Up for Ali hoop and sabonis just put his hand and shoved him and he moved in the air and missed a shot and no foul but anyway it was fun to watch and I it’s too bad for because I know a lot of people aren’t going to be didn’t get to

Watch it because I I’m it’s one o’clock in the morning right now when I as I start to record this so but you missed a good one I don’t know if you can go back and watch it again so um getting down the stretch oh 68 minutes of all the

Total minutes played were played by minute guys 23 and under so you know we had three starters out we had two trades made and all these things happening we had to travel out to Sacramento and we come up and win the thing that stinks is we play Portland tomorrow which is a

Team that’s also struggled but I’ve said they have a good team I they have Anthony Simons is Big Time and Aon is a big big guy he’s a good player he’s been to the finals and stuff and they have some guys quit theyve had a lot of guys

Injured too but the big thing that that that stinks is they haven’t played since Sunday so we’re playing back to back and they’ve had three days off so that will be a challenge for our guys it’s um possible that Kade could come back on back tomorrow night so we’ll have to see

About that they’re still not sure whether you know um bogy’s day today he’s got that calf that they’re trying to be careful with that he heard at the beginning of the season and then so he’s just been trying to take it you know be care about it so that he doesn’t

Reinjure it worse and miss a lot of time but yeah so with um T Tai game 7 minutes and 56 seconds left in the fourth Ivy hits a three puts us up by three uh 553 Ivy hits another three puts us up 114 to

107 and then late in the game he gets an offensive Rebound in traffic somebody shot missed it uh I think mascala missed the three and Ivy jumps in and there’s Kings all around him and he rips it away and gets fouled and makes two free

Throws so he scor like I said he scored 19 of his career high 37 points in the fourth quarter and he was tired he said after the game how tired he was and you know 37 minutes but it was he was spectacular and so was durren and so was

Burks I mean the whole team was got see we’ll talk about each player here in a minute but fascinating so um you know we made the trade we got I think we got a good forward you know in the trade from Utah and that can 68 and can shoot the three

But you know you notice we traded away Knox and livers so maybe now assar can play more and then we traded away Monty Morris even though he didn’t get much of a chance to play to open up those minutes for Sasser Sasser played 32 minutes so that’s his career high in

Minutes and I’m sure that was iy’s career high in minutes or at least for this season you know he’s gone through so much with getting uh ripped around jerked around by uh Monty Williams and then to come out and do what he did today and he started out

Bad he did not start out shooting well and to finish the way that he did was you know a testament to his fortitude and it was it was really cool but um assar had play 27 minutes and again he he sat out quite a while because he

Sprained that ankle and I I thought he was done I was so bummed out because I thought oh no he’s got we we traded these guys he’s GNA get a chance to finally play some good minutes and and then he sprained his ankle I thought

He’d be out for two weeks but he played the second half he was not as effective I can tell you that he was not near as effective in the first half man first start start of the game he got a steel a great steel and then he do on the floor

And knock he doubled another guy left his Man and Dove on the floor and got another steel and he he just really was good and so he he made five out of six shots so he played 27 minutes five out of six shots shots impressive he had the

Other game just recently where he was seven out of 10 and two for two on free throws six rebounds two assists two steals one block and he had did have high fouls 12 points so but he was he was spectacular especially in the first half muscala played 25 minutes three for

Eight but three for six on threes and so those everyone was big every shot was big he he had three rebounds and nine points you know he’s so smart he’s so much in help where he needs to be but he is again I I don’t I wouldn’t mind if we

Kept him around I just you know he just struggles to um guard people because he’s just not fast enough but he he gets to help better than anybody I’ve seen on our team you know he comes from the weak side and and helps out when on any

Drives to the basket he’s really good at that but he can’t jump but anyway Duran 37 minutes 13 for 20 not seven for 10 he was seven for 10 shooting playing against sabonis so they went at it those two guys went at it sabonis had a g

Great game he was 11 for 17 and sabonis had 30 points but he um he got away with some things but he’s still a great player he had 12 rebounds 30 points and he sabonis was 11 for 17 but he got seven for 10 on free throws so it you

Know it was tough Duran guarded him really tough and he sabonis really went off whenever whatever minut um Duran went out it seemed like that sabonis never went out but he obviously set out eight minutes but Jaden Ivy um 37 minutes 13 for 23 three um 5 for S on three so again

You don’t have to believe me but I’m just trust me what his follow through is different now this he’s extending his arm all the way and holding it high and it’s a difference it’s like it was earlier in the year and at the end of

Last year so keep it going Jaden but he was six for six on free throws his free throws have been bad lately but you know again same thing on his follow through with his free throws but six rebounds seven assists he did F have five turnovers but when you’re taking it at

Him all the time you’re bound to turn it over when you have the ball in your hands as much as he did and you’re forcing it right into him you know he wouldn’t have scored all those points if he wasn’t that aggressive so like I said

He had 19 in the fourth quarter and it’s High 37 points Killian it was interesting you got to give Killian credit man he hasn’t played in like three games he wants to be traded it’s gonna be interesting if he’s not traded by trade deadline three o’clock tomorrow so we’ll see if anybody

Wants him but it will be interesting because now right at the moment with those two trades that we made we have 16 players and so you can only have 15 on your roster so we’re going to have to um buy him out buy Killian out or make a

Two for one trade somewhere along the line so got to see what happens there but he played 28 minutes he was three for seven he was two for four four rebounds nine assists one turnover only eight points and I’m gonna tell you though I I don’t understand it you know

He played 28 minutes he played the whole he played a bunch in the first half but he played the whole third quarter and then he didn’t play any in the fourth quarter but that’s coach Monte for us so he he was exhausted so he he played at

The very end of the third quarter he made some mistakes he fell down made a turnover his turnover and he did he missed a shot and fell down and anyway I I he was exhausted I could tell he was exhausted so uh Gallow only 11 minutes

But he was one for one and four rebounds and two assists and two points Joe Harris came in and played 12 minutes he was one for three he made a floater and 0 for one on threes uh two points but Alec Burks and somebody should want

That dude he he had played 28 minutes seven for 12 five for seven on threes six for six on free throws seven rebounds he got all defensive rebounds he was down there battling he only had one assist uh but he had 25 points so big game for him and then Sasser again I

Talked about in the uh last episode hope you get to go back and listen to it I talked about Sasser and how he’s got a chance to be um the first and only rookie in NBA history to average shoot 40% on threes 50% from the floor and 90%

On free throws and there’s only nine people that have done it in history and so he’s going to be close but I’m not sure he’ll get it but he was impressive tonight 32 minutes 7 for 14 shooting he can shoot the pull-up and and I talked

About that in the last episode I talked about the numbers where he was one of the tops in the NBA and pull up jumpers and pullup threes and he’s got that floater man that’s a a great weapon for him it seems like he makes it every time but three rebounds four assists zero

Turnovers for the rookie I mean he’s a low the rookie but he’s still a rookie and he was 18 points and plus 16 highest plus minus on the team we shot 56% from the floor we were 17 for 31 on threes so that was 55% so that’s part way why we

Won 22 for 22 on free throws so those are areas that we don’t always do great but we were un bow tonight and that’s what it took that’s what’s surprising about the season you know we’ve had the injuries and we’ve had some struggles with Monty and the lineups he’s playing

Guys that aren’t that good but um you know we just it surprised me that we didn’t have some games like this but it’s it’s been a lot more fun it’s been more fun watch them even when we’re losing for quite some time now they’ve been since the end of December through

Now the games have all been we’ve been really competitive I bet if you look at our teams plus minus I got to do that to see how we’ve been doing so I think that we probably aren’t at the bottom anymore so um 48 rebounds they had 33 we got

Rebounded them by 15 rebounds so they don’t have a lot of big guys you know besides sabonis and he’s not even that tall but we outrebounded him really strong um 32 assists we had so we had a lot of assists and they had 31 which

Still was a lot of assists but they we had 11 turnovers which is a low number for us they only had four but we still we just outplayed them uh we outshot him from three they were 15 for 44 we on the free throw line they

Were 15 for 22 and we were 22 for 22 so we shot the same number but we made seven more free throws so that was a big part of the difference in the game but it was great win for our guys um Fox struggled had a bad shooting night Trey

Ly lit us up though that dude was five for his first seven on threes and he he was making three after three it is interesting that ly and Kelly Ock and Jeremy Grant all had like their worst years when they played with the Pistons I guess it’s part way because you’re

Playing with guys that aren’t as good but those guys have had really good years the last two years since we traded them so um again we come back and we play tomorrow night so I’ll be on and I’ll I’ll I’ll have episode as soon as if there’s another trade I’ll be popping

On and otherwise I’ll be on late again tomorrow night after we play Portland but great win Pistons fun to watch some great things for our our young guys our Rising Stars you know I Ivy and Duran are in the rising stars game and they were Rising High tonight so great win

For our guys be the reason that somebody feels cared for and liked and go Pistons

Pistons get big win in Sacramento as Ivey scores 19 pts in the 4th! Team plays short handed !

  1. Before I even watch this just want to mention, Monty did not say one word about Ivey in the post game interview. This is ridiculous

  2. Just want to say I appreciate you for posting this late. While all the other piston content creators took the late night off, you still gave us night owls something to tune in to.🙌🏾

  3. No mention of Ivey in the post game from the coach… I can't stand this guy.. Don't kno why he dislikes Ivey but If we gotta choose then BYE COACH… PLAYERS WIN CHIPS COACHES MANAGE MINUTES

  4. I know you mad Killian was balling..

    Cade the real problem..

Let’s trade him & get our 4 first round picks and catch up to the rest of the Lg .

  5. Go Pistons. We’ve been battling in a lot of these games happy to see the hard work paid off.. great team win

  6. 3 videos in one day. Great job man appreciate the effort! Marcus is gonna play so great with all these minutes. We know what he can do, killian did pretty well today despite not getting many minutes, I’d actually like to keep him if he plays a lesser role here. Refs against pistons today, spit in the face when I saw kings players whining over the calls they didn’t get. Ausar playing fantastic again, scared the life out of me there with his ankle. Looking back at some Ivey highlights you were 100% right, a with his bad shooting stretches his form does not look normal, great game from him hopefully he realizes in late close games he controls the tempo of the game, if he slows it down I feel like he could be a close game monster if he just gets those turnovers down

  7. No recognition for Iveys best career game Monty !!!??? Certainly proves he does not like Ivey and does not know how to manage players or lineups! Horrible coach for this team, talk about a coaches ego. Can’t say enough how Monty is sabotaging Iveys development and the entire pistons year. Horrible horrible coach!

  8. approx 4 games were won for monty by default…cade was hurt so ivey started at pg..bagley n livers traded so auser got some more playing time…monte n knoxs traded now sasser gets time of bench….im so tired of monty playing dumb lolol..didnt even mention ivey's performance tonight, shame on him…my guess is troy n monty are at war w each other.and as long asmonty plays dumb ,he can sabotage troy completely …and no one is saying troy is a good GM by no means but having a young team that consists of cade, ivey, duren, auser n sasser isnt to bad especially with 50-60 mill in cap space and a top pk…

  9. Clownty Williams will be sent to the circus after this coaching stint. He will be a great ringleader, a legendary performer.

  10. Ivey has been fantastic. He's my favourite Pistons player. I like the roster, but if we WANT to go forward and once again become a Winning Franchise, then Cade and Monty are going to HAVE to let Jaden BE the main guy. I said it before, Cade is a SF. If he can model his game off Grant Hill and KD then he can become a Superstar Player. He is WAY too turnover prone, and it costs our team dearly. How Cade plays is not winning Basketball; just look at the results.

  11. And Killian Hayes, 9 assists, 2 threes, and only 1 turnover. Didn't want to acknowledge Hayes's contributions? You are to Hayes what you say Monty is to Ivey.

  12. It’s ridiculous for anyone in this fan base to be saying trade Cade, in a time where there’s super teams and big 3’s you all are trying to give away our best player and leave Ivey as the lone scoring threat so that he can go through the same things Cade went through as being the only scoring threat, Cade and Ivey can play together, it doesn’t have to be an either or thing, if Kd and Booker and Beal can play together and if Harden and Kawhi and Paul George and Westbrook can together then Ivey and Cade can play together.. The problem is Monty and him benching Ivey to start the season instead of giving the two time to gel and play together, and we have still yet to see a starting lineup with all of the “core 4” this season.. it’s impossible to judge how it will work if you don’t play them together

  13. Beautiful win. The 4th quarter was Ivey time. If we had played him to the max all year everything would be so much better. Thank goodness Ivey is tough enough to have survived the all out attack Monty Williams launched against him to start the year.

  14. My biggest concern with Cade right now is his health. He’s gotta string more games together. Ivey was great. His confidence is growing. Confidence is half the battle in this league. You see how great Cade was when he was the guy. Dropping 40, going toe to toe with Boston. Since he’s come back he’s second guessing and trying to defer. He needs to stay healthy so they can figure things out and get a rhythm. The turnovers were down big—diff story since coming back. Cade & Ivey are future top 15 talents—they’ve got to figure it out.

  15. If Cade comes back look to lose , Ivie plays with a reckless abandon , Ausar was quietly effective as you notice his man got nothing , again you don’t mention killians 9 assists and D …oh Duren was remarkable…

  16. I saw the post game interview from the coach. The lack of praise for Ivey could just be tough love and a way to push and challenge him because he did play Ivey heavy minutes last night, probably his career high. Can't say I agree with it necessarily but it's a possible scenario. If Ivey continues to get this type of playing time hes going to get a lot more comfortable. Great win last night from the team.

  17. Monty didn't say a word about Ivey because his boy Killian is gone by this afternoon 🤣🤣🤣…what a petty ass coach 😏

  18. Coach Dalton I think that it is rare to witness an NBA player who is so visibly driven and determined as Jaden Ivey. The kid is something special to behold and I am very proud to have him on our team. I can only imagine what he will be like once he gets all aspects of his game firing on all cylinders.
