I think they are both good depth pieces that will help us in the playoffs, Royce especially. For what we had as tradeable assets, this was a home run, imo.

  2. RO’N is what we hoped KBD would be. Not a game changer, but a known quantity that fills a role of need. A good 2-way player, nothing more.

Roddy is depth/project role. Nothing to call home about.

Royce is a playoff rotation piece a good 8/9. Roddy is well…a project

I’m good with it. 3 seconds is kind of a lot on the surface but we desperately needed a guy like Royce

    Not expecting much from Roddy

I DO think that Nas is good enough to be a back of rotation guy still though. His defense looks really good at times and he’s clearly not afraid to shoot

The only thing that would make this even better is if a solid big entered the buy out market

Azubuike would be a nice piece to add to one of those open slots. Convert his two way into a real contract.

Royce is solid, Roddy is a 3rd stringer

Ive just read a bunch of tweets about royce o neale. Basically:

    – his assist:turnover ratio is the new highest on the team beating out booker with 2.8

    – 81% of his shots are 3s and hes shooting 37% on them on over 5 attempts a game

    – hes a solid, not great but high iq defender that guards the big wings like paul george and kawhi better than the fast shifty guards.

    – hes scrappy and gets on peoples nerves

He sounds like the new jae crowder to be honest

We’re better now than yesterday. That’s a good start. Hopefully this is the magic mix of players we’ve been hoping for 🤞

  9. Roddy brings back that “ugly-guy” try hard energy Cam Payne used to give us. Royce should actually fill some defensive gaps. Kinda wish Yuta had worked out but that dude forgot how to shoot like Eric Gordon.

Royce will fit especially for playoffs, not sure if Roddy plays

We didn’t give up anyone who was logging consistent minutes, so I feel like at worst its a horizontal move, but there’s reason to hope Royce will be a meaningful upgrade. I don’t really know much about Roddy, seems like maybe he’s a JO type of player, decent defense but a big minus on offense? We already have one of those, so I’m less excited about him, but maybe there are specific match ups they have him in mind for come the play offs.

I’ve seen that Roddy did well defending Lebron in the playoffs. So he’s an interesting project, I’d say.

One takeaway is that you’ll never convince me that we don’t have some of the top jerseys in the league

Roddy is an absolutely nothing imo, but I like the Royce pickup

I watch a lot of Nets games and Royce is a good pickup. Solid 6th man plus him and KD are buddies.

  16. Royce is a pretty good passer too, right? Should help a little with the turnovers and getting the ball to KD, et all.

  17. PizzaMyHole

Roddy can get to the rim and finish. Even if he gets garbage minutes he’s going to play well for us.

  18. Roddy is probably better than most think his last three games
He has put decent stats in the 25 plus minutes he played

    @ Knicks 15pts 6-11 FG 3-5 3pt

    @ Celtics 14pts 6-16 FG

    @ Warriors 16 pts 6-10 FG

  19. LightningMcSwing

Based on appearance they look like the bulky big dudes we need

  20. WalkingTheD0g1

Nets fans seemed to really like him so I’m guessing he’s going to be solid.

To be honest, I’m alright about this. There was a lot of speculation/critiques about players like Nurkic and Allen but look how well they fit, so I’m gonna give them a couple of games for Vogel to find his rotations with them and everyone to build the chemistry together before I solidify my opinion about the trade.
