    EDIT: He was expiring and my guess is he was not gonna re sign, three seconds isn’t too bad I guess. Also this means J. Wilson gets more minutes so that’s good too

    Kinda sucks that we’re helping out PHX in the short-term, but I doubt this will effect their picks too much.

    One of my favorite Nets in recent years. The other night I was at the Sixers vs Nets game and at the end I was cheering for him and we gave me a thumbs up. Was a cool little moment lol

    I don’t know why people are complaining. Madks did overpay with that ridiculous 1st round pick for Royce, but 3 second round picks for a guy who shoots under 40% from the field and shoots threes is decent and even good for his caliber. Decent defender but known to not be elite. More of a backup guard or wing than starter anyway. Great leader though but maybe team keeps DFS which I don’t mind since he is batter player. I’ve fallen from the team and more neutral, but for me this is fair value for Royce. He has been balling recently and solid shooter but that’s his game with some okay defense against backups.

    Kinda feel for the guy as he was brought in for defense but that changed quickly when the Big 3 imploded and became one of our main options for offense.

    Good trade. Money and some picks. Good enough for a role player and honestly after Jalen Wilson’s play against the Mavs I’m more excited to see him play than Royce.

    Everyone complaining doesn’t realize Royce is an UFA at the end of the year. He wasn’t resigning here. We weren’t getting a FRP, this is very decent value.

    same price that buddy hield got traded for. this is just the price of role players in this current market now. frps for role players just isnt really doable i guess.

    Phoenix will be very limited in resigning him as well since they are over the second apron.

    Whatever you think of the trade value, losing him creates a big hole in the roster. He’s been averaging 25 minutes in 49 games this season (that’s every game so far but one). So to trade him for picks and salaries makes me think Sean Marks is working on another trade to use them.

    For as many frustrating moments Royce had, I genuinely enjoyed his time as a Net.
