[McMenamin] The Los Angeles Lakers are among the front runners to sign guard Spencer Dinwiddie when he clears waivers, sources tell ESPN. The 30-year-old L.A. native averaged 12.6 points and 6.0 assists for BKN this season.

The big thing with Dinwiddie is he can put pressure on the rim where literally not a single one of our current guards is capable of doing that.

  2. gratitudeisbs

He would be a difference maker for us imo until gabe comes back

  3. He’s not even a bad player and yet this sub thinks we’re too good for him. Yet you same bums post shit about bringing back drummond and schroeder.

He’d be a great fucking pickup. Not like we’re a contending team anyway, we need all the help we can get.

  4. CabbageStockExchange

Best talent on the buyout market. Better than nothing.

  5. Call him shittie all you want, but getting players like that on a minimum would be a bread from sky.

  6. He’d be good with playing 5-out and a nice add at that price. We still need to work Wood/Hayes into some solid 5 mins and better perimeter defense (with Cam, Gabe, and Vando out).

If we had traded Gabe,Filler and seconds for Hield or even Oneale, this would have been really smart of us but this is useless since Ham is gonna start DLo-Reaves-Dinwiddie.

  8. CrazyDaylight8

Clutch with playoff experience. Down year but would be good pickup imo

If you asked me whether I’d rather trade 3 second round picks for Royce Oneille or 34 year old Bojan or just get Dinwiddie for the vet min on buyout, I pick the buyout option all day long.

This sounds great until we’re closing games with DLo-Reaves-Dinwiddie next to Bron and AD

  11. A buyout guy who actually has value in the league. Plus he makes up for what DLo and Reaves lacks and can step up in situations where they aren’t hitting their shots. It’s a no brainer.

  12. im-a-drawl

Trading for him would’ve been a bad idea but not giving up anything and getting him on a minimum right now is worth it imo.

  13. Dinwiddie is the type of player I like on a vet squad like ours. Brooklyn and their band of misfits.. not so much.

Haven’t posted on this sub in years. But I went to high school with Spencer and considered him a friend. Guy would die for the purple and gold. Die hard Kobe/Lakers fan. One of our own. I’m excited for him. Hes gonna give it his all if he ends up on the Lakers.

  15. CarolinaKing704

I’ll take healthy Dinwiddle over an unhealthy Gabe so I’m not mad at it.

  16. SparkleCobraDude

Went to Taft High in Woodland Hills. Would be excited to get him.

  17. isit65outsideor

Great addition for free basically. He will be great off the bench especially as Gabe is recovering.

I imagine this means JHS will be sent down to the South Bay Lakers the rest of the season.

  18. donta5k0kay

why not get Hayes too, lets see what Papa bron can do

  19. NigelGoldsworthy

We only have one roster spot left. Would rather use it to sign a defensive-minded player.

Spencer will just be taking minutes away from Christie, who has the 3&D skills this team needs

  20. interstitialmusic

Dlo and Dwiddie have history during their Brooklyn times.

  21. litlegoblinjr

Not opposed to having a slashing guard on this team

  22. __john_cena__

Why, so they can have terrible backcourt defense at all times? They already have Reaves and D’Lo.

Dinwiddie can’t even shoot. He’s like the last guy they should want

  23. Bishop Rob about to deliver an all time sermon this year post trade deadline

  24. twistedinnocence8604

He’ll help until Vincent gets back. Good passer and solid defender but can’t shoot to save his life

  25. twistedinnocence8604

Is he at least a good defender because his shooting percentage sucks big time. 28 percent three shooting. That’s Westbrook territory

  26. hanselpremium

are there any centers available out there. rolo?

  27. ChimoBear

Quite worried this will mean the return of three guard lineups

  28. Advanced-Intention30

Good pick up without giving up anyone and future picks.

  29. Advanced-Intention30

Now let’s get a bruising big! If Bismack comes available lakers should snag him.

  30. Most_Temporary5113

trading for him is one thing, but signing him for minumum, that’s crazy
