They acquired Spencer dwiti from the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Dennis shuder and Thad young and then in a corresponding move the Raptors waved Den witty and Sham said this on X to avoid a 1.5 million upcoming contract bonus for games played the Raptors are planning to

Wave Den witty and they in fact did so this makes sense to me guys strictly being salary dump I mean you look at the situation with shuder the Raptors brought him in at that time because they were still unsure about where they were headed obviously that team had lost Fred

Van v but they still had OG on the roster cakam on the roster they felt like they would be able to compete with that group so you go get a veteran GLI shuder hope it works it obviously didn’t right now where the Raptors are at they

Do not need Dennis shuder it did not make sense and apparently you know according to Michael Grange he wasn’t happy about coming from Off the Bench the Raptors they get off from schruder who was still owed 13 million on his contract because he has one year left

And they bring Den witty who is an unrestricted free agent so his salary is going to come off the bucks after the season is done so this makes perfect sense to me and the Raptors wave in witty now obviously to save on some more money that he was owed but also to you

Know Grant the younger players on this roster some opportunities you didn’t want Spencer Den witty to be there and take opportunities away from Grady dick who I think the Raptor should heavily play now or Scotty Barnes and we can see Scotty barns play more point guard and

Be more of that secondary point guard behind Emanuel quickly so this makes sense because all of a sudden guys the Raptors they are putting themselves in a situation where they are going to be financially flexible now who they end up deciding to spend the money on I have no

Idea at this point but Raptors clearing up cap space giving themselves flexibility for this summer it’s a good move especially considering that Dennis schruder was not going to be a part of this team’s plans moving forward and the same with Spencer dwit so this was

Clearly a move just to clear up cap the last thing here a move that the Raptors didn’t make is they didn’t trade Bruce Brown and I was surprised just because of how much talk there was about a Bruce Brown trade and I really did think a

Contender was going to step up to the plate and give the Raptors what they wanted which reportedly was a future first round pick and and a quality player in return because Bruce Brown can help a lot of contending teams who you know have aspirations of making a

Playoff run or even a finals run but according to Raptor GM Bobby Webster they didn’t get what they wanted for Bruce Brown so instead of forcing something here that wasn’t to their liking the Raptors are going to remain patient with Bruce Brown keep him for

Now but it’s not the end of the world because of Bruce Brown’s contract the rors they’re still going to be in a position where they’re going to have options in the off season for Bruce Brown because Bruce Brown has a $23 million team option on his 2024 2025

Contract so this is going to give the Raptors options leading up to the draft into the off season of you know teams that hopefully come to the Forefront and want to trade for Bruce Brown and at that point you know hopefully the Raptors can get what they want yeah I

Was surprised that the Raptors didn’t make more moves but given the circumstances given the moves that they made I’m actually very content of this trade deadline the Raptors had and I’m a big fan of what they did individually in these trades I think the Raptors have put themselves in a nice position here

Where again they are flexible and they add a key piece in aaji who could be a part of this young Corp moving forward you know you bring in a veteran voice for now an O Len it remains to be seen if he’s going to be here past the season

They’re going to have money to work with and then they can take a little bit more time on decisions on other decisions you know regarding players like Gary Trent Jr who’s an unrestricted free agent obviously what their approach is going to be with Bruce Brown Chris bue what

They want to do with yaka purle etc etc so the Raptors this was you know tweaking the edges and I thought these were really solid moves for the Raptors so I’m a fan of their deadline let me know your thoughts of this guys did you like what the Raptors did what else were
