[Grange] Schroder wasn’t exactly thrilled with being relegated to the bench on a rebuilding team after coming to the Raptors in the off-season with high hopes of starting on and leading a playoff team. The Nets had similarly run out of patience with Dinwiddie and were willing to take his contract.

>There wasn’t a market for Chris Boucher, who has fallen out of the rotation, and the Raptors seem content to play out the string a little longer with Gary Trent Jr., a pending free agent who provides one skill – perimeter shooting – that the Raptors value highly. How highly will likely be determined when contract talks begin this summer. Most sources I spoke with agreed that Trent Jr. was likely going to return a second-round pick or perhaps two, so if the two sides can’t agree in free agency and Trent Jr. leaves, it’s not like a great opportunity was missed.
Pretty hilarious that FOs backup plan for Fred was signing career 6man who’s not a shooter and giving him the keys to the starting PG. Like they had to know Dennis wasn’t a good fit for the starting lineup on paper right??
Framing this as some amazing gesture for Dennis is dumb as fuck – he got traded to another non-playoff team who has a starting point guard already.
They just wanted cap space really bad which is puzzling because what do we ever do with FA signings
There appears to be enough delusion to go Around in this situation: the raps pretending like they did Dennis a favour by dumping him in a middling team, and Dennis for thinking that any serious playoff team would trust him to lead it
Yea Dennis seemed to be pouting from the bench
I really liked him as the bench pg though but I guess he really wasn’t into that role more than I thought actually
You gotta earn that starting role. Man some athletes are pouty asf

I’m very very unlikely to trust or believe any kind of Grange reporting honestly
We wish him well 🏌🏾♂️
