From 2001 to 2023, 15 championship teams made no deal/s at the trade deadline

Also interesting to note before 2004, it was only in 1984 where the Rockets got a superstar and won it all with Clyde Drexler. So basically we have a great team just got to be smart and hope for the best!

This was the first time in forever where we didn’t have a glaring need to address. A back up big would definitely have been nice, but this isn’t like the Lob City teams that desperately needed a starting caliber wing or previous 213 teams that needed a playmaking point guard. Our biggest need is a clean bill of health.

  2. Don’t use logic and statistics around here! The doomers and pooper scoopers don’t like it.

  3. Y’all really wanna act like we didn’t just send out $3M for the rights to a French kid no one wants? I don’t want to see any revisionist history when Clips win the ^(summer league) championship

The chances there was going to be a player who is not only in the teams price range but was also good enough/needed enough to be in the playoff rotation was pretty slim. Still want a lengthy backup PF but it doesn’t seem like there was much out there for trade.

What constitutes a “star”. The only reason I ask is Marc Gasol is listed as a role player and while he was more at the end of his career he was a multiple time all star/possible hall of fame player.

  6. Of the 8 that did, 4 were in the past 8 years. Half of all champions in that span, did. It’s not the same NBA as it was in 2001
