While back and had the 2020 draft and not to be disappointed Detroit made a lot of moves over the trade deadline and we have a lot of new players coming in and that’s why it’s even more impressive how we beat the Trailblazers with like seven or eight active players on the

Regular roster and then we flew in some players from the G League shout out St mud and then we were down 20 plus and still came back to win this is probably the most important win of the season honestly having our young core show resiliency toughness and being able to

Adapt and get through a tough situation because during the losing streak this team would like roll over and fold whenever a team would put on like a double digit run of some kind so that’s important but in addition to this we’re also getting some new players so I’m

Going to read off the trade deadline moves Simone fonio traded to Detroit from Utah for a 2024 second round pick Kevin KNX and Gabrielle pra maybe I’m saying that right I don’t know Daniel house Jr was traded to Detroit from Philadelphia with the 2024 second round

Pick for a 2028 second round pick and then we immediately waved uh house which I’m not really that much of a fan of I would have rather waved wisan but whatever we traded Alec Burks to New York Knicks for buam bogdanovich Quenton Grimes Malachi Flynn Archie diako Evan

Fornier by 202 second round pick and a 2029 second round pick and yeah we love that uh Joe Harris waved Killian Hayes waved we’ll get to that later and Danilo galinari waved first off I am sad to see Danilo galinari waved he’s one of my favorite players in the NBA in terms of

The fact that he was one of those players that you always put on a 2K roster when you need a 610 person that could shoot and do basically everything a video game would need you to do um so I’m sad that he’s going especially cuz he didn’t really get to play that much

But even the fact that the games that him and muscala played together for the Pistons we look like a completely different team than when uh we were starting Isaiah livers and starting Killian Hayes which gets me to my next Point Killian Hayes is gone I did not

Think that the Killian Hayes era would end so unceremoniously like this the fact that a top 10 draft pick from 2020 is just waved not even like getting traded for somebody like Killian Hayes apparently didn’t have enough trade value to the point where Troy Weaver just looked and

Was like yeah we’re just going to just go and that’s saying a lot to me I think whether it shows up as something against tro Weaver it shows up as something against Killian Hayes either way it’s not a good look and honestly I would not be surprised if an NBA team picks up

Killian Hayes puts him in the actual right role for him with the right players around him and the right developing staff around him and the right coaching staff around him and turns him into a very serviceable NBA backup point guard I think that part of the Killian hay experience was Killian

Hay is not improving and also the Detroit Pistons not really helping his case in any way shape or form I think that both things can be true and I feel like we don’t talk about that last part about how the team kind of also let him

Down in certain Spurs as well cuz the roster construction again at the start of the season did not help anyone on the team no one on the team really benefited from the way the roster was constructed because everyone basically got in each other’s way Cade couldn’t do anything

Without spacing Ivy couldn’t really do anything about spacing our Shooters couldn’t shoot at the time Alec burk’s post injury a horrendous stretch of games same with Isaiah livers who was like by a lot of analytics just horrendously bad yet Monty Williams wanted to start him for multiple games

At like those were the most frustrating ones where it was like livers is not good like Burks I understand cuz there’s a history of Burks being a good shooter or whatever livers hasn’t been good since like his first year in the league but whatever now with ding bogdanovich

And Alec Burks I’m glad that a deal got done I know that there were a lot of rumors being like Oh hey Burks and bonovich might be Untouchable which I think would have been incredibly stupid given the fact that they’re not getting any Young and they don’t really fit the timeline

Of Kade Ivy assar Duren they don’t fit that timeline at all I do really thank bogdanovich for what he did do for uh the young people here um same with Burks and that’s the thing is that all these players played hard it’s just the fact that Burks and bogdanovich their ceiling

Is more well they’re better used in terms of like contenders in terms of you’re trying to chase a ring they’re better used for being really good bench scoring on a contending team and that’s why in honor of the wearing the knck star jacket the Knicks look absolutely terrifying in certain spots being able

To get OG bogdanovich and Burks for you’re you’re that team is way different than like it was four weeks ago so shout out to them and I think it also shows that the Detroit Pistons it’s not like we had all bad players right besides livers and Killian Hayes but we didn’t

Have all bad players there was a team there we just we just don’t have the talent to compete right now and that’s totally fine we knew this oh yeah we also got Shake Milton I think we got Shake Milton traded with Troy Brown Jr for the 2030 second round pick for Monty

Morris forgot that that was the day before that was February 7th um also I will say that seeing Monty Morris get traded before Killian Hayes there was a move made for Killian Hayes would made me very nervous that the Detroit Pistons had learned absolutely nothing throughout this whole span and was

Willing to give Killian Hayes another chance at more minutes but again the report said that Killian Hayes Camp wanted a new team and then troit Pistons were like yeah it’s probably for the best buddy and I’m so glad that I don’t think Troy Weaver is doing this on

Purpose he might be doing this on purpose but tro Weaver might be money balling this what I mean is that Monty Williams clearly has like favorite guys at the start of the Season that he wanted to give a chance but it seemed like everybody didn’t like that at all

Versus like it was having Killian Hayes and Isaiah livers playing them and then Isaiah livers is traded trading Isaiah livers seemed like the only way to get Monty Williams to stop playing him that’s really honestly what it felt like because we were all like you have a top

And it didn’t feel like anyone was like learning in a better environment because the team didn’t really function and was was not coherent and didn’t really like help each other it’s like this is not how an NBA roster is supposed to be structured do I still want Troy Weaver fired absolutely it’s

Been four years but I also think that this team did get better through the trade deadline at the same time also being like the bar was so low that you couldn’t really have done anything worse except if you traded ivy for Zack LaVine it was so frustrating to see Jaden Ivy

In in all of these trade talks and trade discussions I was like oh no no no no no no no no no no no I know that Monty Williams has been has been like stifling his play and creativity and opportunities Zack LaVine is not going to save this team he actually might even

Make this worse I saw how the Chicago Bulls there’s a video from uh Kenny king of the fourth quarter where the Bulls broke him and I don’t want to get to that point where the Pistons well I actually did get to the point where the Pistons broke me this season and that

Play defense and did didn’t really rebound also his bad games were really hard to watch same with Burks um he he get a shot off whenever he wanted to but he wasn’t really going to give you anything help on defense whereas fonio and Grimes they’re going to be active

And if Quenton Grimes can get back to like um his offensive Peak that he can like his shooting Peak we’re this is great having two-way Wings cuz we came to the season having a serious Wing problem and I’m not talking about the Wing Stops that’s the Wing Stop was also

A problem but having actual Wings on the roster is an important thing as well and I’m glad that it seems that we’re going in the right direction of getting like these better more active more agile wings and even though I still want Troy fired I think that we’re going to get

Better also this Portland Trailblazers comeback Victory showed that you don’t have to play the offense entirely through Cade Cunningham for the entire game Ivy Duren and Cade all had 20 plus and and spreading the wealth seems to have done wonders for the first time this whole season I have been looking at
