Who Should the Bulls Pick-Up on the Buyout Market?

Who Should the Bulls Pick-Up on the Buyout Market?

So while the Bulls once again make no trades for the third consecutive trade deadline and the front office continues to ride this current core in the hopes that they can somehow turn things around and be competitive or should I say stay competitive since that’s the new buzzword from AK and while the trade

Deadline has come and gone it doesn’t mean changes to the roster can’t still be made as we now enter the bio Market players who were and or expected to be bought out of their contracts to become free agents or players who have already been waved from their respective teams

And looking to sign with a new team that has an open roster spot and signing players off the bio Market seems to be the Bulls go-to in Li of actually making meaningful trades last season they picked up Patrick Beverly off the bout Market in the season before that Tristan

Thompson neither of them staying beyond their short stint with the team after they were bought out and because all of us Bulls fans are up in arms as to why the Bulls decided to keep everything intact at the deadline when the product of basketball we see before us is really

The definition of average I’m sure the front office will come swooping in and sign someone off the buyout market for the vet minimum with the remaining roster spot they have just to keep them below the luxury tax line who are some of these candidates and options for the

Bulls to potentially sign as we near the All-Star break well let’s talk about it but first a quick word from the sponsor of today’s video game time now if you’ve ever had the pleasure of going to a game in person it’s truly one of the best experiences you’ll ever have as a fan

Signing a player who’s been bought out one it has to be a player who provides an area of need whether it’s a particular skill set position or overall roster fit in terms of enhancing team chemistry veteran leadership what have you but for the Bulls While most of

These guys who are going to get bought out are probably only going to be getting the vet minimum pro rated for the rest of the season there are some who might end up getting more than that especially those players who were wav by their respective teams and have become

Free agents and this is important solely because the Bulls are just shy of hitting the tax line which we know ownership will not approve to go over the tax I mean if you’ve been following the Bulls or the channel you already know why but the rhan sorfs are not

Willing to pay the luxury tax unless they feel they have a team that has a shot at winning a title and their history backs that up and that ownership the group that we have right now only have gone into the luxury tax once in their near 40-year tenure so I say this

Because whoever the Bulls end up signing if they sign anyone at all it’s going to be for the vet minimum and minimum only thus I think you can take two guys out of it right away two players who were released on the deadline and that’s Killian Hayes and Spencer dwy diwy

Getting wave was actually pretty shocking because the Nets traded him to the Raptors in exchange for Dennis shuder and diwy would have been owed $1.5 million in a bonus for hitting a certain number of games played that season and the Raptors to avoid paying him that just waved him just a cold cold

Business this is sometimes but either way di Woody is a very capable player this isn’t a guy who’s at the tail end of his career and is hoping to get one final contract to play one more half of a season and so I do think he’s going to

Have a lot of suitors and there are going to be teams willing to offer him a bigger payday than the Bulls are going to be willing to afford not that the Bulls need another point guard anyway but Di witty is probably the best player of all the remaining free agents or

Buyout candidates on this list Killian Hayes is out because he’s just not very good I mean if you’re getting waved by the worst team in the NBA a team that is rebuilding when you’re only 22 years old yeah that should tell you something yeah he might have some upside and maybe he

Just needs a change of scene but not something the Bulls are going to pursue given it’s another guard they likely wouldn’t have a spot on the rotation for and he’ll probably get an offer from some team worth a little bit more than the minimum now the two players that

Have been linked to the Bulls as the most likely options that they could pursue are Dilo galinari and Joe Harris Joe Harris already released by the Piston so he’s a free agent and Gallow is being bought out of his agreement and will be taking free agent meeting soon

Now do I like either of these options for the Bulls absolutely not not that it would really be taking on a big risk to bring either of these guys in just for the rest of the season on M deals but neither of these guys are going to move

The needle for the Bulls Joe Harris once an excellent shooter was the sharp shooter of that failed Nets team but Harris has been so bad recently he’s barely been able to get playing time on a bad Detroit Pistons team hasn’t been able to shoot the ball like he used to

He’s just going to be sitting on the end of the bench so I don’t really see the value in signing him it’s pretty clear he’s not the player that he used to be and that’s kind of the with denil galinari 35 years old has gone through multiple injuries throughout his career

Has had himself a decent career overall but have you seen him play recently inconsistent shooting very slow in his ability to get to the basket as one of the worst defenders in the league can’t rebound despite being 610 yet another washed player now if I had to take a

Guess that the most likely buyout candidate the Bulls are going to sign it’s probably this guy meaning galinari mainly because AK wanted Gallow a couple years back in free agency and galinari chose the Celtics and then had a season ending injury before ever playing with them and because galinari is I mean I

Guess kind of a stretch four even though not really anymore but it would give the Bulls some added size rather than signing another guard but yeah for me this is a non-factor signing not a guy that is going to do anything for you despite thinking he might give us some

Added shooting He’s Just Not That player anymore Evan fornier is another one who will be getting bought out from the Pistons and I find this one a little more interesting because even though for has dropped off from his prime days in Orlando he’s not that old he was only 31

And I feel like based on what we saw from him in the FBA games playing for France I actually think he’s got some run in him still he just hasn’t been good enough to make it into the Knicks rotation and is more less just been playing in garbage time for them I’m

Also intrigued by the fact that Vu and fornier played a number of years together and maybe that’ll get v a little more engaged a little more energized by having a former teammate that he knows and respects I’m sure you all saw vuich post on Twitter with a gift of Mel Gibson from Braveheart

Shouting Freedom as to his reaction of Evan fornier being traded out of New York because we all know that Forni a for whatever reason was on tip’s list like never giving any kind of playing time despite the niick signing him to a lucrative deal do I think it

Really does anything for the Bulls no not really some added shooting maybe if fornier can actually shoot like he used to just hasn’t been able to get a chance to really showcase what he can do in New York yeah some vet leadership would be good good for the locker room Good Vibes

For vuich who never really seems to look happy but that’s really about it now there are other guys like Seth Curry who likely will get bought out by the Hornets but again another guard another guard that could give the bll some shooting but he’s also had a rough

Season and a small guard who can’t play defense Bulls don’t need any more of that then there’s also talk of Kyle Lowry and him reuniting with demard de R rozan again for the Vibes makes a good story and Lowry even for his age is still a very smart and Savvy point guard

Could provide some mentorship to both Kobe and IO and hopefully take away those minutes from Javon Carter and I guess it’s a lowrisk signing as the Bulls wouldn’t keep him beyond the season and if they are in fact trying to stay competitive and win now that’s a

Wiish now type move but again more guards Bulls got to be focusing on more size on the buyout Market you know Marcus Morris would be interesting come in and act as sort of an enforcer and he’s still an okay player too but at the same time this kind of gives me Tristan

Thompson Vibes right now if we were to sign him then there is also Bulls Legend former Bulls Legend Robin Lopez Rolo though is washed I don’t even know if it would make sense considering we already have vuvi and Drummond but bringing in Lopez purely for the comedic relief and

The stories I know it would be dumb and pointless but then again so is this season there’s also Jetty Osman they’re saying it’s possible the Spurs might actually buy him out hasn’t been done and I’m not really sure why the Spurs would do that they could just let him

Walk in the summer unless they’re really wanting to open up that roster spot to sign one or two more players but Osman is an intriguing one because he’s always been a solid three-point shooter good Wing to help spread the floor and he’s not old like a lot of these other guys

That I talked about he’s only 28 and given its low risk you pick him up without trading anything to get him see how he does for the remainder of the Season then you also have the option to resign him in the summer but yeah I don’t know in going through all these

Options it’s pretty Limited in terms of bringing in a player who can actually provide meaningful impact both on and off the court this isn’t going to be like a pat Bev signing who actually did a meaningful job in picking up the energy of the team and closing out the

Season post All-Star break pretty strong and hey it’s also very possible the Bulls don’t pick up anyone off the bio market and they keep the group as is and see where this can take them but if I had to choose one player for the Bulls

To pick up off the buyout Market I guess it would probably be Marcus Morris or maybe even Evan fornier not really interested in guards or guys who are clearly washed and aren’t going to impact winning but we’ll know soon enough if the Bulls will be making a

Move in signing one of these guys I am curious to know who you would like to see the bull signing among these options let me know in the comments as always be sure to subscribe and I will see you in the next one

  1. Honestly at this point, I’d say try and sign Lowry. I’m not a fan of him but that DeMar and Lowry chemistry would be nice, he can still knock down 3’s and that can move Coby to the SG spot to be more of that catch and shoot player he’s so great at being. Lowry can play that CP3 Role when he was on OKC.

  2. The bulls been had a elite team,it's not the players fault coach didn't know how to put it together, when everybody heard the signings and talent on the team everybody wasn't excited for nothing.

  3. From what I remember Fournier is not a defender. Idk if he’s gotten better since the time he was playing more consistently but Thibs didn’t like him because of that and Knicks fans hated him because he missed shots a lot. Lo

  4. Bringing RoLo in isn’t a terrible option. He’s a better backup big than Sanogo, and considering Drummond is starting to get more minutes, it’s a solid safety net. The terry taylor at the 5 minutes are horrendous. I get wanting to develop Sanogo, but we are still competing for a playoff spot.

  5. I think picking up 2 guys would be more ideal to cover for the loss of possibly dalen Terry and Patrick Williams for an extended period of time and the risk of Craig going back out and to replace minutes from Carter who been struggling.

With Drummond getting more of a starting role a back up 4 would be great and the guy I would want to pick up is thad young. Always liked him here and hated when he got moved before

The other guy I like here for cheap is Evan fourneir who has some skills and could be a good contributor off the bench.

If we could pick up those 2 I would be good with that

  6. I honestly don't want any more guards… give me a player with size that can defend and rebound while, being able to run the floor, finish, and perhaps shoot a bit. That would be delightful. I think this organization needs to bolster what this team lacks, not double and triple down on what it already has.

  7. I like the Morris possibility. It does look like a Tristan Thompson pickup but he has interior defense, decent outside shooting, experience and toughness at the PF. Not a bad short term solution until Williams gets back.

  8. Tony Snell for the story line. Since the front office has been horrible to the fans, why not do some good for at least one person and give him those benefits he needs.

  9. This is the problem with Bulls fans. There are players available but we don’t like them. We say they are toxic, we are not sure if they will fit. Stop sending “we are too picky” and “we are too good for you” vibes to players.

  10. Marcus Moris would be a good pick up. It'd mean having real size at the PF spot for the first time in forever, meaning AC isn't having to play back up PF for the team half the time.

  11. Tony snell would be a great fit if he still has shooting touch and dinwiddie would be good as a serviceable guard to play above Javon Carter. I’d Bank on sanago being a solid back up C & I would not I repeat would NOT put drummond back on the bench. Put p will at his natural position in SF and have him play behind demar while vuce eats most minutes at PF and still gets some of the Center minutes as well, P will can even get some PF minutes but having him play solely PF is idiotic especially considering demar won’t be here forever, develop him as our 3 of the future and if not shows to show how stupid the bulls actually are

  12. It's all f**** meaningless. The front office continues to do the bare minimum and this team is never going to be anything but mediocre. We need a revamp of not only the team but also the higher ups.

  13. I think you slightly are undervaluing Joe Harris. He just hasn’t gotten much playing time since his injury in Brooklyn and the Pistons had no reason to play him over any of the young guys. But if you ask me the Bulls should go after these 3 in this order. Fournier, Osman, or Harris

  14. Nobody I need a 9 game losing streak and a fall out of the play in with this competitive talk I’m rooting on the downfall of this regime
