[Buha] Spencer Dinwiddie is signing for $1.5 million for the second half of the Lakers season, sources tell me and @ShamsCharania. The Lakers were able to offer Dinwiddie more than a minimum contract due to not using their full non-taxpayer mid-level exception on Gabe Vincent.

Another fine example of why staying under the tax until absolutely needed is a smart move cap-wise, especially for teams who don’t own the bird rights of most of their players/young assets
Finally gabe Vincent contributed something
I am confused I though it doesn’t matter since his contract before waivers was higher than that.
Rob cooked
Lakers fans are going to hate Dinshittie so much, he is so inconsistent.

Cam, Spencer, Hayes and Christie when heās back are going to have to step up their defense to the next level to make up for Vando missing these next few weeks
Cams defense isnāt to far off from vandos and Maxie can hold his own in ceartain matchups
LeGM would have traded the farm and gotten the team over the tax for Murray. Well, not his money and not the future he cares about.
Gabe coming thru in the clutch!
Did the money matter? I thought the mavs for example could offer more?
Seems more like he wants to play for his home team and knows he’ll get more chances at the Lakers than elsewhere
Werenāt people certain the Lakers were going to cheap out and trade away people for nothing to get below the tax? Ā Instead, it looks like we are spending a bit more.Ā
This is all PR, the fact that the lakers could offer a tiny bit more didnāt matter at all to Dinwiddie who will be collecting the entirety of his $18m.
After all, if the extra money was his motivation, then heād have picked the Mavs who had even more money.
Everyoneās excited now but anyone want to bet how long before the sub starts calling him Dinshitty
mays ride that pine
By getting dimshittie, Vincent had somehow contributed even less value than he already has
