GOOD. I hope this stands, Ted is gonna work hard to try and push it through regardless

Who’s her baseball-player husband?
Her twitter bio says she’s a MLB wife.

This tweet does not seem super reliable. One state senator saying that as far as she, personally, is concerned, the deal is dead? How many votes does she control?
The more that comes out about this plan the more it’s obivous there was very little actual logistical thought put to it.
Even from a business perspective. They did a study which showed that 41% of the ticket buyers were from MD yet they think that it’s fine to alienate a large portion of that base by making games much harder to attend.
Is the Arena being in Alexandria now really gonna bring out more Virginians to replace the lost attendance and revenue from MD residents ? I mean is Alexandria far enough from DC to make much of a difference for someone coming south of the beltway? Was DC too far for people who already lived in or around Alexandria to go ?

Translation: we need Youngkin and Leonsis to grease our palms a little more before we approve the plan.

I absolutely hate the idea of moving the teams, so I’ll take what I can get.
But it’s pretty absurd that what tanked this was Dems flipping out about Youngkin making a speech where he had vague, generic criticisms of them. No one has substantive objections? Are they gonna back on board if he goes to their birthday parties? This is an insane way to govern, all around.

sigh I guess just a few more kick backs will do it
