How she said on national TV that Podz pass to Steph was a bad pass, when it actually was a perfect pass since Podz had to instinctively react to pass to a different spot since Beal was shooting the gap to try to intercept the pass.

To be fair, in 2022-2023 while for most teams it’s 50/50 whether they win or lose if they get more foul calls (and FTs), for the warriors they only get more foul calls for 21% of their wins. Lakers? 81%.

I really like Doris’s commentary, in general. You can tell what a fan of the game she is. At lots of points in the game, she doesn’t hide that she’s just in awe of the greatness she’s seeing, and I love that compared to everyone just trying to stay cool. On many occasions she has marveled at Steph’s greatness. And she does point out things that I didn’t see.
I don’t think her call was good on this sequence of Brandon’s (f’ing amazin!) pass, of Curry’s shot, and of the Wiggins foul. But it happens to a lot of announcers.
So yes, she failed this call, but gets a strong pass for her great announcing in general.
And yes, I’m ready for the downvotes 😉
