POSTCAST – Golden State Warriors notch their 5th straight in win over Utah Jazz

In a battle for the 10th spot of the Western Conference the Warriors came in having won four in a row six of seven and looking like they may have found their way nothing about tonight will make you feel otherwise as the Utah Jazz got styed by The Warriors defense and

Finally cracked defensively golden state with a blowout win 129 107 we’re talking about it next on postcast you are locked on Jazz your daily podcast on the Utah Jazz of the locked on podcast Network your team every Day David lock along with Ron Boon here on postcast is the Utah Jazz fall the Golden State Warriors and I mean the best number of the night the Jazz LED tonight for 1 minute and 44 seconds this one never was really close we came out

Of a break I think with about 15 minutes left and I said I’m curious to watch this the Jazz of kind of gotten to eight they gotten a bunch of times it was at 12 and 14 they get it to eight R they ever break through the answer was no no

They will never break through and the Warriors came into tonight’s game Ron having one four in a row having one six of seven they were the fourth best team offensively and the fourth best team defensively since Draymond came back that looked like a team that’s beginning

To put it together yeah and what again very impressed with their defense and very impressed with with the rebounding out rebounding the Jazz so I think definitely they’re starting to put it together offense you knew they always had that the defense and I think Draymond Green has a lot to do with that

Has really made the big difference let’s talk let’s talk a little you don’t get enough you don’t get enough air time you’re welcome to photo bomb us anytime um we we actually we would like you to come back so we can talk about the Nebraska win over Iowa because these two

Corn Huskers here are more than willing to talk about that more than the Jazz losing to the Warriors well Nebraska had 15,000 people on Super Bowl Sunday in football country watching women’s basketball the whole football team was there uh the new number one quarterback in the country Dylan Rola was there

Supporting those women and they came up with upset Jay J Shelly 23 points also face guarded Caitlyn Clark much of the night it was a really cool experience you know who didn’t go your daughter she couldn’t get in she couldn’t get in couldn’t get in athletes are supposed to

Be able to get into everything and they couldn’t get in was the hottest ticket in town it had been sold out for six weeks hottest ticket in town so Clark all right we’ll go back to the Jazz here then we get th here too how’s NC State doing these days

Thorough I just know they won a championship in 83 that’s all that you ever care about all right Ron let’s go back to the defense Our Stars of the night are Holly and hey look who else is here like did the cameras not work on TV

Tonight did you guys not get enough TV time like what H love you guys you guys like fight over aide tonight or something put camera on us I don’t know what happened camera time look at all us get three days off we’re just ready to go

It’s like we got our first mini Allstar break all right hope you guys are all having fun with this um all right the Jazz offense of rating at the end of the first quarter was 100 the end of the second quarter is 106 theend of the third quarter is 103 you can’t win

Under any circumstances with any of those I don’t know what it ended I’ll look in a second so what did the Warriors do defensively the Jazz finished at a 103 that completely styed the Jazz offense tonight two things here is the fact that they were physically H taking they were physically playing

Position defense on the jab to the point where they could not break through uh they were bilding up they were causing Havoc to guys trying to beat us off the dribble and then the fact that I think t m mcon made um a great point of about

Jazz now having to play different guys you know Kelly or was such a big part of what the Jazz want to do out there on the floor and now who replaces him Taylor Hendricks not no experience uh you know 19 years old so right now you

Can see the Jazz are going to be struggling here for a little bit yeah I mean there’s a real the drop off from for all the people wanted Taylor Hendricks playing earli this year and didn’t understand why will hardy was playing Kelly okay that has been clearly

Answered in two games right like that is like you can stop you now send an apology to Will Hardy for all of you who demanded that he should have been playing earlier night instead of Kelly Lin like that’s that that is that has answered itself at the same time like

Losing Simone’s minutes like we’re seeing that impact as well too so those have not been answered and and I’m not sure what the answers are I mean Taylor for being really honest doesn’t look like there’s these like blips but there’s no like feeling that he’s going

To suddenly he’s going to have to just learn I mean he got you know beat up by Kingo a few times tonight he had a few offensive fouls It’s just tough for him right now it’s just the game’s super fast for him taen had a really good stretch and then a really terrible

Stretch which was kind of the essence of the tailon experience there and those are the two primary guys that are taking minutes because we’re down to nine guys so we’re only playing nine so those two guys are taking the aaji fonio alic minutes and they’re not they’re not solving they’re they’re not equaling

Those so that’s that’s a big drop for the Jazz moving forward that I don’t see an easy answer right now for Will Hardy on how to do that um he did start Keon tonight which I thought was interesting it made some sense like with Chris Dunn and Walker

And John Collins on the floor the spacing gets a little tough Keon is doing things well but guarding Steph Curry and matching up against Warriors this was a tough night for ke he was two of 10 and one of six from three and I don’t think he had a particularly good

Defensive night maybe only because he was minus 32 while he was on the floor tonight so I’m going to guess defensively it wasn’t great also what did what did you see all day this is the first time around for him playing against the war Warriors and playing

Against stephh Curry yeah great point we foret that even game 53 that was our first game against the Warriors yeah so now he has some film uh and some coaching and maybe he’ll do do a little bit better job the next time around because Steph just he beats everybody

And so you can imagine what he’s gonna do to a rookie guy that’s that’s not used to to seeing him play and and than the defense I I I just keep going back to the defense I was very impressed impressed with their defense six five they’re starting they average 65 and they

Outrebounded the Jazz 51 to 44 and so is there something as the Jazz look at film when they play them again on Thursday that they’re going to be able to switch that they were do that will make Thursday more tenable number one thing is more ball movement movement I mean to

Me I think they need to play almost like the the uh the Warriors play I mean to the point where they’re they’re not holding the ball they they they pass and go away pass and set a pick I mean you just need ball movements set in screens

And all of a sudden the defense will break down and you should be able to get something going there the one-on-one basketball that they were trying to do and just played right into the hands of of the Golden State Warriors if you notice every time they penetrated they

Were help on the weak side and then they have a rotator guy from the top of the key taking away that corner pass simple defense but it was getting it done I mean they allow the fewest amount of shots of any team at the rim and their

Tallest guy is six that’s amazing that’s amazing it’s completely incredible the the other one that you pointed out there Ron if someone rewatches if you go B Jazz plus and rewatch The Game or something that I I do think was incredible was their positional defense like we’re watching so many guys in this

League get blown by all the time their position defense tonight was so good that every time you drove you got slowed down so that help was always able to get there yeah and that’s the big key there for them defensively with the size that they have they’re not going to block a

Lot of shot shots and again as you mentioned the help was there and then you think that corner pass is open or this pass and and they’re already rotated in that spot even if you make the pass there’s someone there to defend the play all right um let’s talk about

Their defense on Lowry because he got some shots late but boy today he looked as uncomfortable as we’ve seen him all year he’s used a little more space than what they were giving him and and boy just think about Steph Curry was up on him I mean just to the point where lry

If he tried to put the ball on the floor he was going to he’d have to uh back up a little bit to put the ball on the floor to maybe to to create some spacing so he can get his shot off I was very amazed that he could not

Just one dribble and shoot over the top of Steph Curry you know that that type of he figured it out a little bit in the second half and and I think you start shooting a little bit farther away from the basket and not dribbling in the traffic or something like that we’ll see

What happens on Thursday I really believe this going to be a different ball game on Thursday well be interesting to see um do you have any Vision on how what will hardy will Hardy’s trying to play around with rotation he’s talking about having 48 minutes of basketball he doesn’t have

240 minutes anymore that’s probably the biggest problem for him so he’s now playing with trying to figure out 48 minutes of lineups with some gaps in them do you see like this he started Keon with Colin tonight JC’s coming off the bench with Chris uh Walker’s coming out early so

They can come back in and play with a second unit like do you have any feel on if there is a good answer here rotation wise uh I really don’t um until we see a couple of more ball games I mean this is it would have been nice if we would have

Been playing Charlotte or you know someone that not as deep talent wise and someone without just a pure system like the Golden State Warriors should guys can get some confidence and what they’re trying to do but you know you’re throwing into into a game plan the Golden State Warriors Los Angeles

At Phoenix Warriors team that’s hit their stride now in five and a row seven of eight Lakers Warriors is not the easiest way for Will Hardy to try to figure out what the answers are that’s for sure Charlotte will be our first game back from the so and and like I

Said during the broadcast the Jas been averaging about 45 points the ball game Off the Bench I think that’s second in the NBA uh don’t be surprised that that goes down right now sure seems like it jazz tonight uh shoot 45% 34% from three they go to the free throw line 16 times

Warriors 17 not a lot of a difference all right stars tonight romoon Kesler Walker Kesler tonight 11 points nine rebounds an assist two steals in four blocks and was even in the plus minus category when he was in the game in a game we lost by 22 I would give him a

Star who is your second star I think if you’re gonna give a star I mean and you’re gonna pick a quarter or maybe a half I think Tucker was the one that really made things happen in that first in that first half to when the Jazz was able to come back and

Uh Gap within was it five that was not where I thought you were going is people saw from my eyes reaction to yeah you thought I was going where uh Jordan because Jordan kind of carried the team with 18 in the first half he didn’t do

Anything the second half but he had 18 Jord fo yeah yeah well he played a lot of one-on-one yeah so all right T Horton Tucker gets a star coming back trying the best he can and Walker Kessler gets a star tonight Jazz fall 129 107 as the Jazz fall to the Warriors

Who’ve now won five in a row and seven of eight and looked like they might be clicking in going be tough to catch them in the playin race Jazz have Lakers on Wednesday warriors on Thursday before the allstar break thanks so much for tuning in to postcast we’ll now send you

Over to the first ever 247 National Sports channel locked on sports today it’s also now available for you on your Amazon Fire TV as well have a great night

Golden State Warriors have 7 players in double figures as the Utah Jazz offense could never get rolling against the Warriors physical play
