So you guys don’t miss any of our content over the course of this season all right let’s talk some basketball hey Jason loving the content analysis the Warriors clearly aren’t Championship contenders and the lack of a trade deadline move confirms that this season is a wash although the athletic lineup

Of Wiggins kaminga and green has dramatically improved their playoff chances what’s the next move for the Warriors in the offseason so that they do not waste another year of prime step is it making a big splash trade or making multiple moves for better role players so good question I disagree with

The first thing about them not being Championship contenders like here’s the thing like do they have a legitimate Bonafide Superstar yes is the defense good enough it has been as of late we’ll see in the larger sample size but it has been Jonathan Kingz scored 20 plus

Points in what 10 of the last 14 games if I remember correctly so they’re getting some pretty good secondary production they have a really deep core of perimeter Defenders now that uh that Gary pton is back they have a a versatile defensive front line that can both switch and run traditional pick and

Roll coverages they check a lot of boxes now do they check as many boxes as some of the teams that are above them in the standings no of course not but I think it’d be foolish to count them out because I think Beyond Denver there’s a

Bunch of red flags like Boston can be out out executed down the stretch of games Minnesota can be out executed down the stretch of games Milwaukee might really struggle to contend on the perimeter like the Clippers can’t defensive rebound and they rely on pull up jump shots and can be bullly bullied

By bigger front lines the the Lakers have no point of attack Defenders the Phoenix Suns can struggle in physical environments although they signed thus young today so like they they’re starting to add some physicality to their lineup but the every team has giant red flags so to me like if Denver

Had an do I think Golden State would beat Denver probably not but like if a significant injury happens to one of the Denver starters then it’s wide open and I think I think at that point golden state has as good a chance as anybody else and so again it’s a small chance

But I think riding them off is silly now building from this into the future I think the biggest thing that they’re going to have to look at I I would love to see them get another movement shooter specifically with the way that they run their five out offense you’ve got a lot

Of uh of Steph running off these actions and drawing multiple Defenders and causing these openings for the athletes to succeed on the backside but Klay Thompson who’s been playing better as of late but like as Klay Thompson ages out Brandon pmy is a guy who can shoot but

He’s not a guy who comes aggressively off screens looking to shoot it would just be interesting to see them add another option on that front I think it’s all depth at this point really whether or not they can win a title will come down to Jonathan kinga’s development give him another year maybe

Another playoff run this year to get reps in a playoff setting for him to identify what his weak weaknesses are at a better level get better at Jump shooting get better at reading double teams to me it’s going to be on the margins at this point and then Jonathan

Kinga’s uh big picture Improvement but yeah like if I had to if I had to pick like a specific archetype to look at just in terms of their shot Creation with athletic their front line is getting another movement shooter another higher level offensive guard into that

Mix uh I think would go a long way to helping them like even just like what if they made a move on the margins this summer for somebody like a Gary Trent Jr for instance would be a a up that I think would be really helpful for them

Hey Jason thanks a lot for answering my mailbag question I’m going to try my luck with another one in your opinion how should contact to jump Shooters be officiated can contact to the arm at the end of the release which goes uncalled a lot impact the follow-through as well as

The result of the shot should Shooters be called for an offensive foul if they contact The Defender as a result of Landing unnaturally in order to avoid injury when he is clearly about to land in their landing area what should even be considered the landing area if we

Want to avoid injury to Shooters who jump forward but they shouldn’t get an advantage over shooters that go up and down by forcing Defenders to close out shorter in order to not foul how should refs differentiate natural and precautionary motions from flops and unnatural foul grifting should defensive

Players be called for a foul if kicking the leg on a fedaway shot contacts them when they close out under control and can’t create any additional contact so uh I I I’m pretty down the middle on this like I think contact on the forearm on a follow through should be called

Every single time it’s just when you look at the Finesse element of jump shooting especially difficult jump shooting like you should not uh like the slightest tap on the forearm can cause the shot to miss by three feet like it just it matters too much and for the

Most part I feel like refs uh at least have their eye on that sort of thing but the landing area thing I 100% agree with you like I I do understand that there are certain players that do have a natural kind of like move forward on

Their jump shot and it’s one thing and this is where I think discretion plays a role it’s one thing when you see a player jump up and land like one foot in front of where he took off and the dude comes up underneath him yeah that that

Should be a foul but when it’s a comical one like some of these James Harden step backs when he was with the Rockets he would literally jump and then in midair be like at a 45 degree angle as he landed forward and then fell and and you’re like that’s that’s just

It’s not basketball it’s not nobody would ever shoot like that unless they were trying to grip their way to the foul line right and so that to me is the delineation like the landing area they need to tighten that up a little bit and give the refs the discretion to not call

It if the player’s doing janky stuff same goes for even like on that foul that really bad one at the end of the game against the Knicks yesterday like one of the things that happens is like if that if Aaron holiday is shooting that play in a pick shot in a pickup

Game there’s no contact there he’s when he sees the close out coming he’s kind of like leaning into it a bit and like kind of like taking that contact it shouldn’t have been a foul and then also if you look at it it’s a prayer like

He’s throwing up a prayer and the ref is jumping on it as an opportunity to end the game at the foul line and so in general just the discretion has gone the wrong way too often this season and I’d like to see them clear that up also

While I’m bitching about refs there was a Kenyan Martin Jr dunk in the Sixers game where he got called for a tech and that was ridiculous and the refs just simply have to be stopped next question genuine question for you Jason what’s your opinion of LeBron launching the

Ball straight into Jamal Murray’s face from point blank I know you saw it now let’s address it and I’m excited to excited to see how you hear how you would spin it cuz if that’s the other way around would have condemned it like you always do one rule for LeBron and

Draymond and another for Dylan Brooks this is the most ridiculous uh mailbag question I think I’ve ever gotten uh if you actually think LeBron threw the ball into Jamal Murray’s face on purpose I don’t know what to tell you man I literally don’t even know how to respond

To that uh next question when talking about Oklahoma City can you ever just give a small shout out to Jaylen Williams like comes back last night balls out yes Giddy and door slumping sneaking in a jdub shout out sometimes shees uh so here’s the thing jdub is one

Of my favorite young players in the league I was actually talking with s Vini uh on the phone the other day and everyone keeps like talking about including myself Jaylen Brown that can pass Jaylen Brown that can pass and San Vini threw out the name Jimmy Butler as

A comp for him and I love that comp because he’s just an insane competitor and he has that like big kind of playmaking forward type of vibe who can also be a really really good defensive player huge F fan of Jay dub talked about him a lot this season those of you

Guys who have followed the show that said one of the things that happens is I’m trying to give you 8 to 10 minutes on a game so that I can hit three four games in a day right whereas like when I was covering the Lakers solely I could

Go 40 minutes on every single G I did go 40 minutes on every single game immediately after the final buzzer because I was just covering the Lakers so like a lot of times like I choose to highlight specific things that was a power rankings video I was trying to get

30 seconds on the Thunder they’re going to be longer uh form there’s going to be a lot of longer form Thunder content down the season and J Jaylen Williams will get plenty of uh uh uh plenty a plenty large portion of the show if that makes Sense

  1. Not saying it was on purpose but Lebron is definitely better with his passes than most, I think he’s just not as great as he used to be with passing

  2. Really hoping the dubs can pull off another ring with the old guard and the new. Need some serious minutes for TJD to get him ready for the playoffs and real matchups at the 5 that Dray can't handle anymore

  3. We have one spot left to fill in so perhaps do buy out for a big man and run with it (get the ring now before Steph and the original core get too old),

  4. Legitimate Bona Fide Superstar – Check, Secondary Production – Check, Defense – Check! Don't count out the Warriors!

  5. TJD should be a starter. He is that good. Like Kuminga blossomed with more minute played, TJD should be at least 20 minutes per game. They need at least one big 6'9 to start games and finish games and TJD is the guy. Remember that TJD played all 4 years of college and he is already 23 years old. He should be playing more minutes than Klay. Klay should come off the bench.

  6. The key may be getting back Otto Porter Jr back to be healthy and able to contribute like he did when he was a Warrior. Hopefully, Jazz buy him out soon.

  7. I'd be a lot more confident if we just got a backup center like Dallas got in Gafford. Looney and Saric is borderline unplayable. Trayce Kerr wont trust enough as a rookie.

  8. can never count out certain players and teams until they finally out of the playoffs. no different here for the warriors or lakers.

  9. my red flag with the nuggets, just seems like they dont care. I give steph and Lebron that pass because of their age and prior success, but idk. just seems concerning

  10. @JasonT During the Warrior / Jazz game on 1/12, Wiggins took a 3 and his defender went under him and Wigs literally landed on his foot and luckily didn't roll his ankle. the play was reviewed and the call was confusing. The refs called it a common foul because it was a "short" close out. What does this mean?

  11. This year I’m hoping the Dubs can pick up Otto Porter Jr on the buyout market. He could fill a role as a backup 4. In the offseason, I think they need a legit big that can bang with Jokic, AD, Embiid. Not sure who that is. Hopefully Trayce will be able to earn more minutes, but need another big body.

  12. Warriors Denver nuggets don’t Scared warriors no teams come on warriors the only thing can save Denver is fouls calls

  13. Curry pointing at Klay – "We'll always be the Splash Brothers… your turn" … Leadership at an elite level in so many ways. Don't discount Curry & Co. getting Kuminga and Wigs into Smash Bro mode in the playoffs.

  14. The Warriors can win again this season. If things stay the same, GS has an elite, switchable defense. They have a deep team to where it can be anybody's night. They've learned to exploit mismatches and by the time teams react to that, they have a counter to your counter. Steph is also better shot maker than any other player in the NBA.

  15. nba refs ruined so many good games this year. they need some type of reform or somethin lol they are so bad

  16. The Warriors are more likely to miss the playoffs than to make it to the Championship. Let alone win it. Jason is such a Warriors fanboy its insane. I cant take any of his analysis of this team seriously.

  17. I think the warriors actually matched up pretty well against Denver, GSW has played well against them this season and could have won the 3 games they played against them and they weren’t even whole as a team. The dubs should have definitely won the last match up. The upcoming game against them will be a good indication of what’s to come if the dubs do face them in the playoffs. And the way the warriors are playing I am sure Denver does not want to see them in the first 2 rounds.

  18. Warriors odds are +6500, 65/1. Their defense is really solid now. 7 of last 8 games holding opponents average of more than 10 below their average. They have definitely massively improved.

Even when they were losing a lot, they were always able to compete with anybody. Just couldn’t get stops.

  19. They’ve got curry… as long as they do, they always have a chance, just like any team Lebron is on.

  20. if they pass the play-in and Kuminga and Wiggins continue to be reliable second options, and better coaching, I see them losing to no one except the Nuggets and Celtics. The others are too inexperienced or the Warriors will def beat like the Kings or Pelicans

  21. It will be very stupid to dismiss this Warriors team.JK has vastly improved.Steph and Dray still running things.Wigs is coming back.GP3 still a nuisance defensively.Podz a beast.TJD good.Cp3 wil be useful in the playoffs.only Klay and loon have been struggling. The team is building good habits. All those losses will prove useful in the games that really matters i.e playoffs

  22. We just got rid of Cory Joseph and you think we need a better guard that shoots. Not to mention we already have a Moody. We can't beat the Nuggets? They could barely beat the Suns that had no chemistry and they got weaker this year (Bucks just schooled them yesterday).
