It’s actually wild we got him at 12. I’m not sure between him and Chet who I would rather have long term, but honestly I think I lean Dub.(may be recency bias) I really do think Dub will be better then Paolo long term because of his playstyle. Dub is ridiculousy efficent and has proven he can do it at high volume. He’s also a great defender and passer. As of who’s better rn I think him and Paolo are about even Chet is worse then both but he’s also playing his first season. His rookie year has been better then either. It’s ridiculous we got Chet AND Dub in the same class.

You still have to go Chet for his upside. His ceiling is a top 5 player, multiple time DPOY, a few block titles with a chance at an MVP (absolute ceiling). You can see how much different Thunder look literally as soon as Chet sits, he anchors the whole team together defensively and stretches bigs out to the perimeter, it’s arguably that his impact is neck to neck with Shai. Chet just needs more shots in general and Mark runs no plays for him outside of the lob once in a while when the defense is slipping. Also hard to get high scoring games when you’re limited to less shots than Josh Giddey. Year 2 Chet or post All-star Chet, I’m expecting a leap that Dub took last season, in the sense that he’s just more aggressive, lowers the pump faking and lets them fly.
Dub without a doubt is the idea 2 option for any team. He is the perfect wing prototype you want in a modernized wing player and I wouldn’t trade him for Paolo straight up. If Dub had his own team like Paolo in the East, he’d also be an all-star already.
Thankfully Thunder has both of these players and doesn’t need to decide between them. Sam destroyed that draft.
Chet anchors a defense too which doing so at his level is rare as well.
Chet may not be on the level on O, but on D I’d argue he’s nearly our most important guy.
Great win tonight. Love seeing Dub getting 30 plus and 5 plus blocks from Chet. And Giddey didn’t blow the game!
Chet in defense is better than both
Gotta remember that Chet is still in his first year and J-Dub in his 2nd. J-Dub was surprisingly good last year, but not nearly as good as he is now. Let’s check back on Chet at this point next year and see
