[Hine] Mike Conley (with a smile) says he gives Anthony Edwards talks to tell him he’s not THAT tired/sore, like tonight: “His hotel room is right next to mine and I saw him walking to his room and I said, ‘You ain’t limping, stop it and lock in, you’ve just got a little bruise.’ ”

I mean if Conley is that bouncy at his age. I would listen to him too
For such an athletic, strong guy, Ant really does seem to be *very* sensitive to pain. Those things aren’t mutually exclusive at all, but it’s just surprising to see. He’s reacted vocally/strongly to in-game tweaks or falls in a way that most players don’t.
The trio of Conley, Gobert, and Slow Mo have just been so insanely good as veteran presences for Ant.
Seems like it’s once a week we hear an anecdote about one of them telling Ant to do or not do something, whether it’s playing through some pain or to quit being a scrub after halftime or locking in on defense or how to attack defenses, etc. They’re so lucky to have vets like that.
Some people I have known really focus on pain and injury. Bodies natural way of saying “don’t do that” and they listen.
Others are like “yeah I’m tired and sore, so what?, everyone else is too. If I fight through it and they don’t, I win”. Mental.
DS : “Why’d you stop running soldier?”
Soldier : “I’m going to throw up!”
DS : “you can throw up while you’re running, get moving”
