Our record after a trade has become a meme around here but there is a legitimate point behind it: the less options Monty has to run his 10 man rotations, the better we play.

I wish this was the case, but if it was why would he be playing 30+ old Fournier > T Brown Jr who has a 4m option for next year? I dont think he knows what he wants…or at least we dont..

I mean he aint wrong, We were not going to a play in team no matter who was coaching so ya’ll can get over it. The dude has a multi year deal, so yes he needs to find what works going forward.
It wasn’t exactly staged last night when phoenix game him a welcome back tribute with player and crowd love. Stop hating the guy so damn much and give him at least 2.5 seasons

In his post game press conference Monty flat out said that it’s a joke that the Pistons were sent out west to play two back to backs out of 5 games on this trip.
Add in the fact that we just acquired new talent and lost our veterans who were supposed to steady the ship.
I’m not sure what everyone’s expectations were but clearly they were way, way off.

I think Keith is right but I hate the philosophy. Its like theres a disconnect with Monty where he thinks because this is his 1st year here that its basically year 1 of this. The fans and the players have gone through so much losing prior to Monty and I wish he would realize that there should be more of a sense of urgency to win games. The open tryout shit isnt going to heal the psyche of your young core. You can see when Cades not getting calls or shots arent falling or the games tied when he leaves the game and theyre down double digits when he comes back, there is a noticeable dejection. His attention to detail suffers, he presses which leads to turnovers. All 3 of those things happened last night and by the 2nd quarter his defense was back to being damn near catastrophic. They need strong vibes to end this season and not giving the team its absolute best chance to win games night in and night out is such a disservice to a young team thats having a year from hell.

Graham makes a really good point.
