πππ on X: Zach Collins has shot 2/29 on 3s since Dec 26th.
Abysmal player piece that we should move off of. Heβs a good passer but canβt rebound, defend, or do literally any of the most important things a center is supposed to do. Hes basically a bad PF who racks up fouls.
Who was the genius that decided he was worth the contract we gave himβ¦

He was solid last year after they traded Jakob and shot 37% from 3. IDK what happened to him, but he’s been so bad this year. Doesn’t seem like the type of dude to stop trying after he got paid, but he’s been way worse than last year in basically every way.

Hope this break does good for him. He was pretty solid last season.

I honestly donβt understand why they donβt cut him and pay him to sit home. Upgrade Barlow even if same results
Zach is a paint can on defense. His only redeeming quality is passing which is hit and miss. Dude shouldnβt even be in the league. He deserves full Luka Samanic treatment from FO

Why didnβt we trade his ass instead of DOUGIE

Zach Collins this season makes me think of the line in Office Space: βWhat would you say you do here?β

He has fallen off this year in almost every aspect of his game. Sad to see. Doubt he will be in the Spurs future plans at this rate.

I suspect the reason we’re still seeing so much Collins is that Barlow doesn’t have enough games left on his 2-way to play the rest of the season and the team can’t come to terms on a buyout with Morris (we’re probably low-balling him, which I’m cool with.) I think we’ll see him when he can cover the rest of the year or Morris is off the roster, whichever comes first.
(Does anyone know how many games he has left?)
Aside: As much I’d love to jettison Collins into the sun, there’s really no reason not to hold on to his contract and hope he remembers how to play basketball over the summer. We’re not trying to win right now anyway.

Meets the eye test,Β the 3s aren’t even close to hitting right now, way short or way long
