Does Caruso Have Another Level To Go To?

So I’m thinking about what this team needs and how it would go up a level.

A starting guard who can be an elite 3 and D player is clearly one of the biggest ways it could jump up. A Derick White type player.

My question… do you think Caruso would have that potential in him to be that?

I’m looking at the numbers for White last year compared to Caruso this year.

Caruso:
Minutes Per Game – 27.

FGA – 7.

FG% – 48.

3PA – 4.3.

3P% – 40%

Rebounds – 3.8.

Assists – 2.8.

Steals – 1.4.

Blocks – 1.2.

Points – 9.8.

White last year:

Minutes – 28.

FGA – 9.

FG% – 46.

3PA – 4.8.

3P% – 38%

Rebounds – 3.6.

Assists – 3.9.

Steals – 0.7.

Blocks – 0.9.

Points – 12.4.

As you can see the numbers aren’t too different from White last year and Caruso this year. White has taken a jump up this year. Average more minutes, more shots, and more points.

Do you think Caruso has that potential? This year on 27mpg he is 10/4/3 on 40% from 3. Do you think if we traded for him, he’d have the potential to be ballpark what White is this year for the Celtics? Say Caruso was a 32 mpg player, could he be a 12/5/4 guy who’s giving you 40% from 3 on 5 attempt a game? Kind of like what KCP is for the Nuggets.

I feel like if he could he would be the PERFECT complement alongside D’Lo.

Why are we discussing the potential for Alex Caruso? He’s not even on our team. He turns 30 in a week so he’s likely peaked as a player. Take this to the bulls subreddit. Lol

Why not discuss the potential of some of our guys, who are much younger? DLos turning 28 next week. Rui just turned 26 and Reaves is 25. All three of these players have the potential to be all stars as early as next season and be a crucial part of the post Lebron era.

Their “potential”is gonna be dependent on how much they focus on perfecting their crafts. Are they getting up at 5am to workout? Are they getting up 1000+ shots a day? Are they showing up to the practice/games early and staying late? That’s what all the great players in the league do. There’s no magic, just hard work. That’s what Kobe did to become great.
