The Bucks Would Be Better Off WITHOUT Damian Lillard… | YTNM

So a fresh new week has arrived and here in this channel that means one thing and one thing only every weekend I post an episode of the series we do called your take not mine where I Turn to You the viewers to give me your hottest NBA

The festivities get to entertain us this weekend in all of the games so we definitely have plenty to discuss in order to submit your takes I make a community post on either the day of or the day before the video similar to the one that you see on your screen now so

If you want a chance to be featured in a future episode be sure to stay on the lookout for that before we start though I want to thank prize pick for sponsoring today’s video prize pick is a skill-based real money daily fantasy sports game where you select two to six

Week’s entry to sign up go down to the link in the description and use promo code reference when you sign up to get a deposit match bonus of up to $100 once again thank you to prize picks for sponsoring the video now let’s get back to the topic at hand the first take

We’ll be discussing today comes to us from gibron and he says that if Portland would have taken the reported heat trade offer for Damen Lillard in the offseason then the Blazers bucks scoot Henderson and Damen Lillard himself would all have been better off right now we’re now well

Into the season so the power of hindsight is going to be stronger than ever as demonstrated by this take and with so many bumps in the road happening for all parties right now it is worth a revisit starting with going from the Trailblazers perspective the reported heat offer that they were given was

Tyler hero nicovic Kyle Lowry and some draft Capital the biggest reason why I never liked the heat offer for them and ultimately why the Trailblazers kept turning it down is because the best asset that he’d had to offer provided an incredibly redundant skill set to what the Trailblazers already had in their

Young back court Tyler hero is a very good player I’m not saying otherwise but he’s a 21 Point per game score who can definitely ignite the offense with shot creation talent but he’s a huge liability defensively and he isn’t necessarily Elite as a go-to scorer to really move the needle like that

Especially when you consider that the three most important pieces of the Trailblazers young core right now are all guards as well Anthony Simons is actually a more productive player than hero individually this season in a similar role as a volume scorer who knocks down threes efficiently while struggling defensively bit Shaden

Sharp’s development was making notable strides forward before he got injured and Scoot Henderson may have been getting even fewer minutes as a rookie right now if Tyler hero was also in the team’s rotation so right off the bat I’m disagreeing with the original take saying that scoot Henderson and the

Trailblazers would have been better off now as for the bucks they are going into All-Star break on a bit of a skid now sitting in third place in the east standings and Lillard has just not been playing up to to his normal standard despite somehow being voted in as an

All-Star starter the Bucks perimeter defense is one of the biggest causes of their concern as their drop off as a whole on that end has seen them going from the fourth best defense last season to the 17th ranked defense this season and it’s hard not to look at Drew

Holiday’s absence as a big reason why the playoffs will ultimately be the only thing that determines whether the Lillard trade was worth it for the bucks though but if they continue to slide like this then it’s hard not to agree that the Bucks maybe would have been

Better off as for Dame himself would he be happier and better off getting his way yeah of course he would but the original take said that everyone involved would have been better off which I just don’t think is accurate even in hindsight the next take we be

Discussing today comes to us from dude and he says that Victor wanyama should be the first rookie to win both Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year this season he came into the NBA with an otherworldly amount of hype and and I’ve got to be honest he’s

Definitely living up to the billing Victor is currently averaging about 202 points 10 rebounds and a league leading 3.2 blocks per game when guys try to attack the paint with him on the court it very rarely goes well because his absurd length and size just Tower over his opposition making life hell around

The basket players are shooting an insane 10.1% worse than usual in the paint when guarded by wanyama which shows you his defensive impact is going far beyond just blocking shots and the Spurs as a whole look night and day different with him on the court vers

When he’s on the bench with all of that being said though I still can’t get behind him winning the defensive player of the year this year I have zero doubts in my mind whatsoever that wemi will go on to win this award eventually and he very well may win it multiple times but

For now it’s very hard to justify the defensive player of the year being someone anchoring the 23rd ranked team defense in the NBA to win the award your defensive prowess needs to be impacting team success at a level where you are the focal point of one of the best

Defenses in the league and the Spurs are one of the worst elevating those around you to being a top defense as a whole has always factored into the voting for this award and it’s not going to change this year with that being said though wemi should definitely be named to an

All defense team this year for his Stellar play that I can absolutely get behind and finally the last take we’ll be discussing today comes to us from mango and he says that every team in the Eastern Conference from 1 to 7 in the standings has an equal shot at making

The NBA finals this year this is one that when you first hear it you automatically assume it’s Hyperbole and a bit of an overreaction but then you look at the standings and start to see where they might be coming from I’ll start off by saying that I do believe

The Celtics have separated themselves a bit from the rest of the pack in terms of how they have looked as a contender so far this season so I wouldn’t say their chances are necessarily equal to everyone else’s but after seeing the run that the Miami Heat made as an eight

Seed last year it’s very hard to write off this take as it pertains to the rest of the teams in that range speaking of the Miami Heat are the team in seventh place right now and if we’ve learned anything about them from the last four years it’s that they have another level

They can reach with Jimmy Butler fully locked in sixth place is Indiana who have been the League’s number one right offense all year long and now with Pascal cakam bringing Championship pedigree to their young group I won’t be writing off their chances to pull off some upsets fifth place is the

Philadelphia 76ers whose chances pretty much entirely rely on Joel embiid’s Health but if his recovery goes well then their guidance under Nick nurse could spring them back to life fourth place is the Knicks who are also dealing with some injuries right now but when Julius Randall and OG anobi have been on

The court with Jaylen Brunson and Company they they’ve looked like one of the best teams in the league third place is the Bucks who are going through a bit of a rough patch right now but obviously with Damen Lillard paired with Giannis they built this team specifically for

The playoffs the Cavaliers are in second place and have arguably been the hottest team in the NBA over the last month now that they’re fully healthy and with more shooting in their rotation this year compared to last year they’re looking to bounce back after a disappointing

Playoff exit last year so all in all I’m actually kind of on board with this take that the playoffs should be great because of it and with that being said that’s all I have for you today make sure to like the video subscribe to the channel and comment down below what you

  1. look what Jimmy Butler did to the Bucks. Sometimes you get what you ask for. You thought you had the steal of the summer and was rubbing your noses in the Heat's failure. This is gonna be the biggest flame out in NBA history.

  2. Y’all some in the moment ass ppl when dame show up in the playoffs y’all going to be the same mfs saying he deserve a ring

  3. Dame is averaging 24.6 and 6.7 assists. Good numbers on a team with many offensive options. His FG percentage is down this season but there's several legit reasons for that, including still adjusting to a new team. By the playoffs time you can expect things to get sharper for both Dame and his teammates.

  4. Damian Lillard is a little past his prime. So you’re going to get uneven performances throughout the long 82 game regular season. Usually at this stage of a player’s career they will still play great in high stakes games. So expect Damian Lillard to play great during the playoffs.

  5. I think doc is a better coach than bud but the problem is how they hired him mid season the bucks should of hire Nick nurse to begin with Adrian griffin was my last coach out of the three they were discussing tho I did think the hire would be good because it wasn’t young guys so I thought all these good basketball minds would
Of built off eachother but then the dame trade changed everything tbh it felt like our entire game plan changed so we needed a different coach for the situation it’s tough but I think doc can figure it out

  6. Should have kept coach Bud, Jrue, and Grayson to get gentleman's swept in the first round by a garbage team. Really it's all about pre all star break regular season games against non contenders, those are the games that really matter.

  7. This is overblown.
I’ve come to realize—while dame HAS been inconsistent, he’s still been a huge offensive upgrade this season. He had a rough Jan and feb, but his December was solid. He just hit a rough patch.

Once they gain the stamina to play both ends of the court, the defense and offense will connect.

    Recency bias is absolutely insane

  8. Lol the Bucks should have checked Giannis, dude tried to be GM like Lebron, now that he has some clout. Can't believe they didn't hire Nurse because of him. Start hating this guy with his antics regarding "the ball", give his brother an undeserved spot, his whole situation with Griffin. Dude should be more humble like when he first got draft and let people do their jobs.

  9. It's always intriguing to see discussions about potential team dynamics in the NBA! The idea of the Milwaukee Bucks without Damian Lillard opens up a lot of interesting possibilities. Team chemistry and player roles are such crucial aspects of basketball, and it's fascinating to consider how different lineups and strategies could impact a team's performance. The NBA is full of surprises and talent, making it a thrilling league to follow! 🏀🌟

  10. Agree. Dame was slow walking up and down the court in the last few minutes vs Gizz. He looks like 38 years old. The young Grizz was targeting him as Dame is a liability on Defence. He also shots poorly, only 42% FG for the season. I really don't buy the Dame time thing. For every Dame time, there were several losses in Portland and Dame time only happens one or twice per seaon. Dame is scores alot in Potrland and does not have the winner or killer mentality.

  11. Stupid GM . Bucks could have gotten Lillard without giving up Holiday. So a back court of Dame & Holiday . How scary is that. They gave up plenty to get Holiday . Why just give him away ????. That would have been your big 3 ( Giannis, Dame , Holiday ) Get Middleton off this team . Never has & never will have a positive impact. He's the new Ben Simmons.

  12. Any team that loses a Defensive player that can get stops loses a LOT of potential. Jrue was such a Pinnacle for the Bucks

  13. Man remember Luka and Kyrie tho when they first started. Agreed that now isnt really a great example. But the way theyre playing recently along with the new players they have, im confident they can be out of the play in by the end of the season. I know thats not really a big improvment, but its an improvement nonetheless, especially how last season ended. So for me, unless Giannis and Dame just go full dummy and become the best duo this playoffs. Expect them to be their best version next year. Agreed that Dame has to be better defensively tho. And they need to improve coaching also

  14. Bucks "fans" said that they were better off without Adrian Griffin, look at where we are now. My point is the Bucks shouldn't appease the emotional fans.

  15. People can't see that there are 3 main problems, Bud couldn't solve them, Griffin couldn't, and Doc is a little better but he doesn't see it either, first of all Beasely is killing this team, Dame may be subpar at D but Beasely is worse and Beasely lacks the way Dame makes up for his bad D, Beasely bring almost nothing to the table to make up for his bad D unlike Dame, 2nd Giannis plays to fast for effective sets and passing and doesn't handle a double team well and doesn't use a mid range game despite showing an ability to hit the midrange, 3rd Dame has to be coddled more in that, you have to set more screens for him and multiple screens at one time, guys should be constantly running at Dame's man anytime he sniffs the ball and also after the pick is set roll away and stay out of Dame's way on his driving lanes, don't clog Dame's driving lanes!! But first set the man a pick and he'll get you 50

  16. Not tripping even slightly.

Dame has spent his whole career playing Dame ball. Giannis has spent his whole career playing Giannis ball.

It's going to take some time to properly transition and only rarely happens overnight.

I remember last year everyone yelling about the TWolves getting ganked by the Jazz and they needed to deal Rudy or KAT immediately or just blow up the whole team for maximum value.

Now look at em. It took them about a year to get everyone's style to mesh. Same things going to happen in Milwaukee as Dame adjusts to Giannis ball.

  17. It's not Dame's fault and there is still hope. Bucks fans have seen Giannis Carry a post season before , they got him for the post season and that is when his shooting % and such will matter. That said it , he hasn't played as well as he has in years past but something that is not getting brought up is he is not getting calls he use to to a point were he is taking like 5 less game about. He has hit big shots that have shown us he can still do it and had been able to still slash to the rim . Yes it would have been nice to see him not brick like ten 3's on a game either but yeah.

The real issue was The Bucks traded or lost Mathews and Allen as well in trade and Khris has not been able to stay healthy and has been a big issue this season. Not only does it take away the 3rd scoring player but it has made it even harder then has been to figure out the best way to use the roster. He comes back and they work plays around him to get him going then gets hurt… Khris is trying he wants to be out there no blame to him , I saw some where saying "the bucks should sit Khris till post season" ,I agree just have him play maybe 2-3 games over the last 10 of the season. He knows who to play catch and shoot with Giannis and he has been able to "find his shot" without having to take a lot. The issue is Dame and Khris have not been able to play a lot and Beasley has been overplaying his contract making Dame look worse as well.

  18. I feel like that last take is more referring to 2-7 in the east. Yes the Celtics are a group of probably the worst playoff droppers in nba history but still they kinda feel like they've lapped the field especially considering they're the only team to consistently win even with injuries to any one of their starters basically

  19. Shocker, the 7’4 guy blocks a lot of shots. That doesn’t impress me. Same thing when he dunks…he is 7’4, nothing impressive about someone that tall dunking.

  20. The problem for the Bucks isn't that they traded for Dame and he's not as good as before. The Problem is due to Dame coming they fired theyir first coach, got Doc Rivers and now have literally no assets to trade to get better. To me its a matter of time till Giannis asks to be moved
