The Cleveland Cavaliers struggled throughout the early parts of the NBA season and some people even considered if they’d end up trading Donovan Mitchell however since New Year’s Day the Cleveland Cavaliers have really proven their title pedigree and really launched in a a push towards the NBA
Title for this season over their last 21 games since the alha mantion New Year’s Day the Cleveland Cavaliers are 18 and3 having won the most games in this period of time despite playing the least the Cavaliers have the fourth best team in terms of offensive r which is really big
Considering they struggled in the first round of the playoffs in this exact same metric against the Knicks the Cavaliers not normally known for the offense have really seen a boost in production from the bench and also a step up in the form of Donovan Mitchell somehow increasing
His level of play um further and you look at the team from the defensive end spearheaded by Jared Allen and Evan Mobley amongst others they currently have the best defense over that period of time since New Year’s Day currently first ahead of teams like the Tim bolves
Knicks and red hot Celtics and when you look at uh net rating basically uh the difference between these two metrics uh they have a 14.5 net rating Which is far better than the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks some of the most informed teams in the NBA during this

Cleveland Cavaliers are seeing a large amount of production from their bench currently the sixth best bench in terms of offensive rating and with guys on the bench such as Isaac aoro uh Caris Levert and also Sam maril and George is Nang there’s no surprise there given the
Ability of those players from three and also uh scoring the ball inside like Caris lever on a volume so you look at that the Cleveland Cavaliers have a really good amount of production coming off of the bench uh which will again hold them in good stead during the
Playoffs you look at uh JB Bier sta in his coaching methods as well he’s really helped the Cleveland Cavaliers turn the corner on the three-point uh you know on the three-point front currently making 14.9 Theses per game currently third in the NBA over that period of time since
New Year’s Day you also look at the Cleveland Cavaliers and many of the hustle stat metrics in terms of Second Chance points they have average 15 per game good enough for six in the NBA they also score the second most points per game in terms of Fast Break points uh
Over that New Year’s Day to now period of time up the allstar break and then they allow the fewest second chance points uh in the league uh of any team uh to their opponents so clearly making the most of their opportunities on the offensive end and reducing and really
Playing a disciplined uh brand on the defensive end to really restrict their opposition’s ability when you look at the team it’s led by Donovan Mitchell who I mentioned before is playing an elite level of basketball averaging 28 points per game shooting 36% per from three on N attempts and also dishing out
6.3 assists per game and then you have guys like Darius Garland uh Evan Mobley Jared Allen and Caris lever alongside Max streu averaging in the teenss for points helping provide a really steady Supporting Cast for Donovan Mitchell to rely on and you have Elite level shooting from guys like Sam maril
George’s Nang and also rather surprisingly Isaac auro who’s shooting 39% from three after some struggles in the previous Seasons so when we look at the Cleveland Cavaliers they have a vast amount of three-point shooting defensive ability and offensive ability and as you guys know last season in the playoffs
They struggled against the Knicks on offense and also on the three-point front defense hasn’t really been a problem for the Cavs in recent history so maybe the team has clicked and finally turned the corner on the offensive end and might be more consistent and this would catapult them
Into the title calculations when you look at the Eastern Conference Boston would be a hard matchup but as it shapes up now they wouldn’t play them till the Eastern Conference Finals you have the buck who are struggling you might be able to you know get past them uh
Janisan obviously drives and relies on the paint and the Cleveland Cavaliers obviously have some ability to stop him there Philadelphia is injured and they have some question marks how the Cavs would be competitive against them uh they’d also be very competitive against the New York Knicks and then before you
Know you start really going down that list into teams the Cavs would probably be comfortably better than so it’ll be very interesting to see what happens during the playoffs I’m not necessarily saying the Cass will win the title but for a team that’s gone 18 and through over their last 21 they definitely
