[Wojnarowski] Minnesota Timberwolves G Mike Conley Jr. has agreed on a two-year $21 million extension, Steven Heumann and Jess Holtz of @CAA_Basketball tell ESPN. The Timberwolves keep Conley Jr. out of summer free agency and in backcourt thru 2025-2026.

Something about guys who never entered the star/superstar conversation but ended up carving out an impressive 15-20 year career just makes me happy. Like Conley’s just been a solid dude, positive player everywhere he goes, has made a shit ton of money, avoided the eye of the media, and will end up being in the league for 20 years.

I was expecting closer to 15/yr, this is so great for us. Seems like a statement from Conley that he believes this team can win it all in one of the next 3 postseasons. Huge endorsement coming from someone as accomplished as Mike.
Also, Tim Connelly is such an amazing executive. He really turned around the culture of this team so quickly, which is a testament to how he handles the kinds of things we don’t see or hear about.
Cheap. If he stays healthy this an awesome deal for the wolves Conley is one of the best floor generals in the league
Doesn’t matter if he drops off a cliff next year playstyle-wise because he’s so damn good for younger talent.
