Steph Curry on LeBron trade rumors, calling Warriors average + future w/ Klay & Draymond | NBA Today

Let’s start in fantasy land if we could close your eyes I’m not putting a jersey on this I’m not putting a location on this but you’re suiting up and LeBron James is suiting up and whatever Jersey you’re wearing it’s in the same one what would what would that look like 29 what

Year was that 2021 in Atlanta allar weekend was like as close as we as we got possibly the Olympics but in fantasy land when it comes to the NBA I know that was a uh a shock to the world in the sense of the wh ifs um and I was

Telling somebody is like if you’re around this league long enough you’re you’re going to get surprised with some stuff that uh you thought would never be possible but um a little blip on the radar that turned everybody’s heads but we keep moving well you know it’s always

It’s always fun to to think about two of the greatest to ever do it to suit up but let’s let’s come back trip trip on fantasy Lane over let’s ground back in reality the last game before All-Star break Klay Thompson comes off of the bench for the first time since 2012 what

Was that like I imagine it was weird for you to be in the starting lineup and not look over and see your Splash brother it was weird I’ve I’ve come off the bench a couple of times and seen him start so it a it was a weird to to to switch roles

But for him there’s only one way for him to respond the way that it’s the way that he did I think there’s been a lot of narratives around his his season and you know since he’s come back from his injuries and um some Fair some a lot

Unfair and I think you know the Natural Evolution of all of our careers is you know trying to figure out how to continue to win but it might look a little different and the way that he responded this the Clay Thompson that I know that the the true competitor the

True dog like he got pissed off and said watch this um and I think a lot of it is is just you know knowing who he is so however it looks you know moving forward for us it’s always been about like our team success us is the root of

Everything um and he is as important of that as as anybody you called this team average recently why is that our record was when we were one game above 500 and you are what your record says you are uh so until we you know truly get over the

Hump and get real momentum that you allows us to climb up the standings a little bit and you know we I know we’re capable of it you know sometimes you have to be real with yourself that where we are is not good enough uh even though

It’s better than where we were you know a month ago so the way the season is gone um I think the best is you know in front of us and you know it’s it’s looked a lot of lot different uh this year you know we’ve had some guys really Step Up we’ve

Had you know some young guys step into some prominent roles psky JK’s taking his jump um you know wigs is is playing motivated basketball right now so it’s nice to have Draymond back like you got all the pieces finally um and hopefully CP gets back sooner than later like I

Said hopefully the best of warrior basketballs in front of us the Western Conference it’s pretty packed though the top four seeds are separated by what three games you’re five back of the fifth seat though so what does the path forward the path up look like for you I

Think it mean it starts with just winning at home for us like we’ve always had a strong home court advantage I think we’re 500 at home right now so um if we can protect our home court we understand that we uh we’ve played better on the road and we’ve played

Better against you know the top teams we just we’ve had some you know some tough fourth quarter uh stretches that didn’t go our way and that’s the difference between being you know five six in the standings versus 9 10 where we are um but if we take care of home court you

Know we got with 30 games left feel like we can steadily climb as long as we get into the playoffs no matter how we get there whether it’s the play in or whether it’s you know climbing to a six spot or whatever we know we’re a tough out we know nobody

Wants to see us when we get there um we just got to get there yeah you like your chances once once you’re there you like your chances we’re at all-star weekend it’s your 10th Allstar when you’re at these types of events when you’re looking around at the young guys and the

Rising stars Challenge and people you know you’re playing against Sabrina and these sort of almost commemorative moments at this point does it make you think about your own basketball me mortality at all definitely but it’s a motivator for sure cuz uh like you say you look in the

Locker room an Edwards who was here for the second time was he just yelled at me during practice like came a long way from your camp and I remember him you know being a a curry Camp uh participant and going through you know three days of of

Skill work with me out there and now playing you know with him and an Allstar Weekend so to your question like it does remind you this isn’t going to be around forever um to never take it i’ never take it for granted but it is a reminder

Of you know how hard it is to you know be acknowledged as an All-Star every year I feel like you know I still got a little bit more left in me um but you know at year 15 and you know my 10th year you’re here and Allstar Weekend

Like you know it’s not going to be around forever so to enjoy every moment um and you know be present cuz it’s it’s a lot and you know I think we uh we appreciate every moment yeah I was just talking to Kevin about about that and about how he sometimes looks around and

He’s like I feel old now like this is I’m no I feel you don’t want to acknowledge it that’s the hard part you got to have a little bit of both you got to have a little bit of both but do you think about how long you want to do this

I do but it’s it’s the more I think about it like I said The more motivated I get I work as hard as I’ve ever worked um to maintain this level so you’re trying to redefine what that could actually look like um I think the lesson I’ve learned

Is not to put any limitations on it but you know approach every year like this could be the last year like who knows and then you just keep that same energy until until you wake up one day and you know it’s it’s it’s time to time to call

It qu I think after the or no it was before right before your first round Series against the Sacramento Kings last year we sat sat down and I checked in with you do you still feel like you were in your Prime you said yes yeah what about now I

Do it it definitely feels a little different after I finish every game where you know you got to do a little bit more recovery got to do a little bit more preparation exactly um there’s a little more that goes into it but I know I can still reach that that level of

Impact on the court that you know I’m used to U so yeah definitely feel like I am even even if you have to be a little delusional um telling yourself you know who you are I think um like I said I work extremely hard I’m surrounded by uh

People that are pouring into me every day and I feel like that energy is is what keeps me going you’ve always had this levelness to you this patience to you but as you continue to race against that clock to want to win more championships because you’re one of the

Most competitive people that I know do you feel like you’re as patient as you once were with how this team goes through ups and downs you around this league long enough you know what goes into building you know a championship DNA and like with me Draymond and Clay we’ve been doing this

Over a decade yeah and you know since the 22 finals um you you understand like the margins decrease as you get a little you know deeper into your career like the little things that impact winning are so precious and you know reminding ourselves of it and also you know

Bringing along you know the younger guys uh to get them to that level so there’s always patience within that there’s also like a realism of you know it’s really hard to compete for a championship every year you look at the history of the league it’s not like everybody you

Know you name it the legend that Cole Shaq Michael like Braun you look at all those guys that played so many years and played at such a high level they didn’t make the finals every year like it wasn’t you know a given and so you have to understand like where you are and

What how far you are from where you want to be and what it’s going to take to get there um because as es and flows and you look around there’s so much talent in the league right now so um you have to embrace it and I think the patience that

Comes with that is I know we still are capable of doing it and we we’re going we’re going to keep working for it you’ve always said you wanted to go out with the same folks you rode in with with with Draymond with Clay do you still believe that the three

Of you will be Golden State Warriors and that’s it for life 100% um and I think that’s always been a motivator for us and I think the way that we talk about it is we want to not only end our careers or Warrior not only continue to

You know compete at a very high level but you want to end it the right way I think we’ve been through a lot this year and uh you know the three of us especially you know with draymond’s uh absence for a while with Clay you know taking on a new

Role um the new cast of characters that we have that are you know right alongside Us in this journey I think it’s extremely possible to accomplish both um you know we just have to you know protect the identity of who we are um as best we

Can I think we’re we’re moving in that right direction

They'll back to where they was since in 2022
    Right now

  3. Thank you for asking the questions we all wanted answers from, at least most of them. These days nba players are so cryptic

  4. Man oh man itā€™s going to be weird when Steph finally calls it quits. Iā€™m going to be sad when that day comes. I say he has maybe 5 or 6 years left until the league. Father Time has never been beaten. Letā€™s all enjoy Steph as long as we as NBA fans can because there will never be another NBA player like him. It used to be inside out when I was growing up and now itā€™s outside in as heā€™s revolutionized the NBA game with his 3 point shooting. Maybe someday another Curry will take his spot in the NBA but I know Steph and his wife will encourage their kids to seek their own paths in life.

  5. Well I checked every single comment and there's no way Noone wrote this "Look at Curry man ao inspirational". šŸ˜Š

  6. Turn to Jesus people he died for your sins. Repent of what the New testament describes as sin. Believe the gospel get baptized and obey the teachings of Jesus. The gospel and the teachings of Jesus are documented in Matthew Mark Luke and John. Jesus is the only way to be saved God bless you all. If you have faith in Jesus through your faith you will live life with him as your example.,.

  7. Why are black men doing interviews with this obvious black misandrist? She's clearly a bed wench for white men and mammying it up on espn trashing black men whenever she can. She still hasn't talked about or to Giddy after he's been out here banging underage girls. Where's that interview, Malika?

  8. Y'all could say what y'all want about her she has her moments but she does her job well and y'all can't front she is drop Dead gorgeous
