“12 HOF’ers There. Something I’ll Remember Forever” | Chris Finch NBA All-Star Game Sound | 02.18.24
One what’s one thing they can do in order to make this game just a little bit more interesting yeah I think um you know I think they’ve tried to to alter the schedule I think maybe looking at ways to continue to do that so um you know
They can make the make the uh the days as compact as possible um and uh yeah but I know it’s something that they’re going to continue to look at probably like today after after the show today um I mean not even getting the fourth quarter at least somewhat competitive so
As you can see some defense that’s probably like an indication of maybe they need to change something yeah I mean uh you know I think also just when you get down by 15 points and you know you’re not not able to get a stop or or
Get the rebound back you know and the shooting is at such a high level it’s it’s very difficult yeah but um you know I’m not sure exactly what the answer is but uh you know nonetheless it remains a a great weekend um you know just got to
Find a way to bring the game back a little bit is there anything specific you’re looking forward back to the season you you guys have the first place in the west and and you had Carl Anthony here Anthony here um is there something like that you’re looking forward to well
We just got to try to pick up where we left off but we got we know that the every the intensity and and these games are going to ramp up even more and more um and uh we got to make sure that we get maintain that edge um we’ve done a
Good job of developing a good offensive rhythm in the last few weeks uh we got to maintain that um but yeah it’s uh hold serve at home we got a lot of a lot of home games coming up here out of the break so lots of things we can do to
Kind of keep furthering ourselves last one for me um coaching LeBron he St how special yeah was incredible I mean just you know when you’re drawing up on the board and you have these guys that you able to kind of see it pop out and stand out and then
Looking around the locker room uh you know probably 12 first ballot Hall of Famers in there and something I’ll remember forever thanks what was it like the intros the first you guys were the first three kind of tonight how how did that feel yeah that was pretty special I
Mean uh just kind of I hadn’t stepped out into the arena you know until the very last moment so I didn’t get a sense for kind of the the atmosphere or the occasion um and you know everything that the league does is always very very you
Know first class and dramatic um put on a great show with all the you know trappings and all so it was it was it was pretty special to be there with those guys was like to see cat it’s good hopefully we can get uh you know hopefully we can continue
There’s there’s no uh no no post post game meltdown Now by me well I was going to say how giving first uh Allstar team you give up 200 points how does that how does that feel well you have to talk to Elston about that
One uh I saw you got a picture with Dr J it was that kind of the surrealness you were talking yeah for sure yeah I mean like uh it’s my hero my idol growing up uh grew up a big Sixers fan just outside of Philly um
And I’ve been in the league for a while and I’ve never I’ve been in in and around events with him and I’ve never really asked him for a picture or even really took a moment to introduce myself but I I couldn’t pass that opportunity
Up you know so to say how much just how much did youit yeah it was everything I mean he was you know like the Sixers were good really really good they were on championship in 83 um I probably started watching them in around 76 or something like that when
I was you know pretty young still didn’t really have a full grasp but I understood that this guy was pretty spectacular and played the the game in a different you know on a different plane than everybody else from his athleticism and his and his grace um so yeah pretty meaningful one
Of the rare times where ant’s not asking you for more planing yeah yeah absolutely Ely um but uh you know was it was it was good uh you know good to see cat out there running around for sure so you told us last week a couple of times that it hadn’t felt real
Yet until you got here just was there a couple of moments that okay this is you were here and like this was a real thing yeah I mean it it felt real to me um you know certainly on uh yesterday morning you know getting ready for the practice
And then of course all the media that followed and just you know how big the event feels and is um I think that was one of the moments and then just you know having just a little kind of like some nerves that you don’t get some nervous excitement that you don’t get on
A normal basis just like you know I told the guys it’s not often that you know at this point in your life in your career you feel like a a little kid when you go into a room and see all these guys there but that’s certainly um the way I felt
Yesterday morning go into that locker room before practice it’s was exciting did you and Cat have a moment did you try and like what did you do or just to try and like um coach fce how did you feel about isulation tonight I thought it was well
It was good they just didn’t go in they just they you know they made a lot more threes than we did okay what about the defense yeah then we’re going to talk about the defense yeah all right I’m going y’all see you all right see you be
Safe uh yeah no we have yesterday um that practice is able grab them each for a couple minutes you know tell them how proud I was over them you know how meaningful it had been for us this this kind of Journey along the way um and you know I know they’re both
Really excited to be here so how do you think your assistance and your staff enjoyed the weekend I think that was one of the most uh kind of meaningful things for us as organization I think just how much it meant to everybody from our staffs to our support staff to um you
Know people from the front office and the business office who came out brought their families brought their close ones um everybody was able to you know participate and get a feel for it and go to the events and be around and just yeah it was it was really special that
Way you have to play yeah I mean everybody kind of had their own plan a little bit you know um so uh but yeah some guys you know want to play a little bit more than others did you not want no I I it wasn’t my
Plan to to to play them in only 13 or 14 minutes so yeah when you have those long timeouts you’re talking with your assistants in a normal game you’re talking about game plan strategy what you talking about it there uh not I we’re just really trying to kind of get
Our minutes uh rotations down who’s up next who’s in who’s out um you know maybe what we can draw up and that’s that’s really about it and then then we started passing the board around and and having um you know some of the other assistants drop up some plays and give
Them a moment so anything else awesome thanks appreciate thanks

"Be safe"… damn man, thats a special relationship
The actual game was the most boring, lifeless events associated with the NBA. Something needs to change because All-Star weekend ends with a grande FLOP!
Minnesota's coaching staff is very very good 💯
Ant asking questions as a media member was pretty fun.
No criticism, he’s a good coach, looks tired though, been a long and different weekend i guess
Really insightful reflections on the All-Star game! It’s fascinating to hear about the behind-the-scenes aspects, like the focus on making the game more competitive and the challenges of adjusting to the high scoring pace. The emphasis on improving the schedule and the unique experience of coaching such a talented group of players, including LeBron, adds depth to our understanding of the event. It highlights the balance between entertainment and competitiveness in the All-Star weekend. Looking forward to seeing how these insights translate into the rest of the season and beyond!
How about world all stars against USA all stars. It would be very competitive.
Why does Finchy look like he's just revealed himself as a Sith Lord in that image thumbnail for this this video?
