Syracuse basketball holds on in final minutes for 87-83 win over NC State

Brent Axe chats live following a 87-83 win for Syracuse basketball over NC State.

Mike Waters joins Brent to discuss how SU had to hang on for a win over the Wolfpack after building a 15-point halftime lead in Raleigh. Chris Bell scored 26 first-half points but did not score in the 2nd half. Quadir Copeland had 25 points for the Orange and was clutch for SU down the stretch. The Orange made 18-of-19 free throws against NC State.

Brent and Mike discussed the roller coaster ride a win like this was for Syracuse and the differences between the two halves of basketball. Mike also tells us why Chance Westry and William Patterson likely won’t be getting on the court this season.

Our Syracuse Sports Insiders helped shape the conversation with their insights and opinions shared with Brent both during and after the game.

  1. Had we not blown a 72-65 lead with 1:10 left on 3/5/22 to Miami in the Dome, tonight would have been the night we clinched our 54th straight winning season and tied UCLA's all-time record.
