  1. So it was completely Dallas’ FO at fault for fumbling this situation, wow.

If Luka ever leaves Dallas this will 100% be the main reason

  2. LukaDoncicfuturegoat

Cuban is searching the screenshots of those conversations with Jalen representatives as we speak lol

  3. SoSmartCs

God damn that is some gross negligence from the Mavs FO. Grant Williams was asking for more than that (from the Celtics that is) lmfao.

4/55 for Brunson would easily be the best contract in the league.

I don’t think Brunson would’ve become the player he is now without leaving Dallas.

That being said, Dallas took such an L. If he turned into even 70% of the player he is now and played alongside Luka, the Mavs would be closer to the top of the west.

55 million for 4 years for an NBA caliber player is such a fucking bargain. Malpractice from the front office.

I’m thinking about jumping off really tall somethings.

Could have had a younger brunson with a cheaper deal and that money could’ve gone to other players. Brothers and sisters, I am SICK.

So it *was* just as bad as we thought. Or, perhaps, worse. If he was still up for signing 55/4 ~1/3 of the season in, that’s malpractice by the FO.

Same shit we did on caruso. before he accepted the 4yr/37mil offer from chicago, he came back at the lakers FO asking for less money just to stay with the team 3yr/21mil. Lakers said no.

i kinda feel for mavs fans cause Brunson was a crowd favorite along with luka.

It’s kinda crazy how the Knicks have two stars on the best value contracts in the league rn.

Brunson’s 4yr $107m and Randle’s 4yr $117m are absolute steals for players of their caliber. You can’t name any players that are arguably top-5 at their positions getting paid under $30 mil per year.

To top it off, Brunson’s contract is descending.

Mavs are idiots for turning that original offer down.

  10. That would be the best contract in the league, easily

  11. 4/55 is such a steal even if they thought he already hit his peak or whatever. Legitimately don’t understand how you pass that up.

  12. They type of unselfish player you build your team around, not allow to walk for nothing.

  13. Cuban is a Knicks legend for what he did for us, we’ll never forget it

  14. SunKing210

Can’t wrap my head around a young upcoming player helping lead his team to the WCF while averaging 21 ppg in the post season (28 ppg in the 1st rd!) as a second option at best, all for them to just let him walk for nothing when they could’ve had him for cheap. Holy fuck

  15. Old_surviving_moron

    major fuckup by dallas

    That was deep fucking value.

  16. bacontacos420

I used to love Cuban but as the years go by I’m starting to think he’s just the Jerry Jones of basketball.

  17. Ny_icedogs

The should have struck when the 4/55 deal was on the table. When he hit the market, Knicks got him for 4/105 and it was considered a major overpay by nearly everybody.

  18. No_Restaurant3889

As a Knicks fans seeing him play on the regular, what a massive fuck up on Mavs part. Curious, did anyone get fired over this debacle? How could you not take that deal? In NBA terms, to say that 4 years / 55 million is a steal is a MASSIVE understatement. I do not really follow the Mavs, so have no idea if there were any FO repercussions for any of this. There should have been though…what a travesty. Man helped carry them through playoffs when Luka got injured and that was the first time I actually took notice of him. Damn.

  19. KuntaWuKnicks

We win a championship with Brunson and I’ll set up a gofundme for a mark cuban statue near MSG

  20. swampcreature511

4/55 for Brunson would easily make it one of the best contract in sports. Somebody in the Mavs FO should get fired for letting him walk.

  21. DreadSteed

Dallas, with Luka/KP/Brunson and role players would be a top 4 team in the NBA.

I know they had chemistry issues, but you fire the coach before you trade the talent.

  22. Clockwork-Too

Was the tampering charge against the Knicks really warranted if the Mavs had every opportunity to sign Brunson?

  23. UrbanChophousePR

I wonder if breaking up Dirk and Nash is still Cuban’s biggest regret…

  24. PluCKy-Voco

Mark Cuban has been extremely cheap since he won his championship. It started with not resigning Tyson Chandler and continues to this day.

  25. MikeyLikeyPhish

So glad he’s a Knick. This is where he belongs.

  26. RAF_SEMEN_DICK_OVENS

The luka trade request is gonna hit like crack

  27. hemmetown

Didn’t want to sign a young player after one tough series in his first playoff experience, we don’t deserve him. He’d be worth 4/55 even at his play level in the clippers series, seems like another time where we’re chasing some free agent or dream scenario instead of building on what we have. At least with the Shane Larkin trade down instead of Giannis fuck up, we ended up with luka and no chance we would have been able to get both. With the brunson fuck up we end up with kyrie but gave up a first and multiple starters. Sometimes it’s better not trying to be the smartest guy in the room all the time, reeks of desperation. Just because you’re successful in one area of life doesn’t mean you know fuck all about something else but my two favorite teams will continue to be sabotaged by the egos of the geriatric and the tanker
