Future NBA Arenas Being Built (2024-2032)

Future NBA Arenas Being Built (2024-2032)

All right guys so in this video I’m going to be discussing the future new NBA arenas that are going up along with all of the rumors all of the potential Arenas that we are hearing but we’re going to start with the Arenas that for sure at least right now we think are

Happening beginning of course with the Intuit dome which is opening this year so in the fall of 2024 the LA Clippers will move into the Intuit Dome and just looking at the Intuit Dome certainly is a unique design I’m a little bit surprised they did not incorporate

Natural light into the interior but I’ll give the Intuit Dome credit normally when it comes to NBA arenas I’m looking for one unique feature and they certainly have it with the massive wall of seats behind the one Baseline you also do have the massive ring scoreboard

Which almost is too big but either way that’s going up and you can see the overall design on the Intuit Dome the construction at this point is winding down and is almost f completed and the Intuit Dome will be hosting an allstar game relatively soon in 2026 in February

Of 20126 so 2025 they will be at the chase Center and then they will be at the Intuit Dome and the Inuit Dome is located in Englewood that is the same host City where Sofi stadium is so the Intuit Dome is happening the construction is almost completed you can

See kind of the nice uh I guess you could call it futuristic design the exterior it almost looks like they’ve got palm trees on the interior as well but that is the Intuit dome right there moving on to the next Arena that we believe is happening it is the new

Oklahoma City Arena to replace the paycom Center that could be built by 2029 now you can see OKC voters approve the new Downtown Arena that happening about two months ago in December now inexplicably we have not gotten renderings yet which is very annoying because normally I like presenting the

Renderings and everything like that but there are no new renderings on this potential OKC Arena which could cost believe this less than a billion dollars around $910 million could be the expected cost which would be very surprising considering every Arena and stadium in America now seems like it’s over a

Billion dollars but we will see the capacity likely around 18,000 like normal modern Arenas I did see this kind of unique design for a potential another NHL arena in Toronto Canada I think that’s a cool design it would be sweet if Oklahoma City kind of had a design

Like that where they had kind of the light poking through and it was the orange light of the OKC Thunder kind of like their team colors in the blue I just think that’d be cool it’s a unique exterior but either way we will see whenever those renderings come out but

That is expected to be completed by 2029 and the paycom Center obviously built kind of as a shell originally to a to attract an NBA team it did its job but at this point they have a limited number of Suites it wasn’t built extremely amazingly well because it wasn’t like

They had an NBA team at the time and that is why Oklahoma City is getting a new Arena and they’re going to be staying there until at least 2050 I would expect the renderings to come out within the next several months but we will see next you do have the potential

New Las Vegas Stadium camp now this is a potential 10 billion proposal that’s going to be an entire campus area with a brand new NBA arena there are no renderings for this project there was an originally a $5 billion project that included a retractable roof NBA arena if Las Vegas got an expansion

Team that’s called the allnet resort that’s completely dead at this point this is a totally new thing that’s going to be supposedly 100% privately funded in Los Vegas when they get an expansion team and they are expected to get an expansion team within the next three or

Four years it’s supposed to be them in Seattle Seattle very likely will not be building a new arena for the NBA team they will be playing at the climate pledge Arena which just got a$1 billion renovation for the Seattle Kraken the NHL team so they’re going to be sharing

That and theoretically Las Vegas really doesn’t need another Arena they’ve got the beautiful T-Mobile Arena which right now hosts the golden knights you would figure the Knights would be able to share that with an NBA team but apparently there could potentially be a new NBA campus Arena Mega project that

Cost $10 billion that includes a brand new casino it includes a hotel area and it includes an arena will the arena include a retractable roof I highly doubt it but who knows either way there are no new renderings on that and when is that going to happen possibly by 2029

Or 2030 it just depends on when NBA expans happens I would say 2025 is very likely when the dialogue really picks up for NBA expansion and the expansion happens in 2026 with the new Arena possibly breaking ground around that same time but we will see the next new NBA arena

This is potentially going to be happening not very likely based on the recent articles I’ve seen but about a month ago it was rumored that the Washington Wizards could be moving to Northern Virginia and these renderings were released of an entire Arena District you can see only exterior

Photos of the potential Arena not much detailed stuff there but you can see the Wizards logo on the outside of it apparently this might already be dead now normally when it comes to Arena negotiations and having the public vers private debate you’re going to get a lot

Of these headlines but according to a recent headline the Washington Wizards and the capitals the NHL team their new Arena may be dead already that recently came came out the total proposal is around $2 billion so it’s kind of a wait and see to me I can already sense this

Is going to be a terrible uh Arena Saga in the district of Colombia just based on where it’s located it seems like a complete headache I mean look at what happened with FedEx field and their situation I don’t know what’s going to happen but right now the Wizards would

Be better off moving out of Capital One Arena it is completely decrepit at this point it’s a bottom five Arena but we’ll see if they end up moving to Northern Virginia there’s just not a lot of building space inside DC itself but that could potentially be happening by 2029 I

Would not hold your breath that’s just in the planning stages we will see moving on to the next potential a new Arena it is the 76er place at Market East this is the Philadelphia 76ers new Arena that is planned to open in 2031 now they’ve already changed the design

And it seems like it’s connected to some type of tower called the 76er Tower hour so certainly interesting when it comes to the exterior you can just look at it as well as the interior kind of some nice natural light above the upper deck apparently this Arena has been met with

Significant backlash in terms of its location right on Chinatown and they’re really debating whether or not this is actually happening I always found this project very peculiar considering it’s not supposed to be built in 2031 with the groundbreaking happening in 2028 it just seems very far off to even plan

Something like this but I do agree the 76ers are in a very similar spot as the wizards they need a new Arena even after the big-time renovation that the Wells Fargo Center got it’s just simply not good enough so they’re planning for a new Arena and we will see if this

Actually happens but it wouldn’t happen until 2031 either way that arena is in the planning stages moving on to some more hypothetical speculation I would say you do have Frost Bank Center home of the San Antonio Spurs possibly being endangered based off of its location San Antonio reportedly

Wants to move downtown there was speculation after the Spurs won the lottery it became known that they were drafting Victor Wayan yamba that they were going to build a brand new arena in downtown San Antonio and if you look at the Frost Bank Center the exterior of it

Certainly is aged the interior I think is fine but either way this is something to where it’s not really necess necessarily how bad the arena is it’s more so to the fact on the location of their current Arena and the fact that they want to move downtown possibly

Within the next five or six years so this is just speculation there’s been Dialogue on these spurs possibly getting a new arena there are no renderings or anything like that at least not yet but with way and yamba possibly giving him a massive you know in three or four years

Max contract they’re trying to get this going the plan to move the Spurs downtown into a better location with a brand new Arena we will see and then you also have another team in the state of Texas the Dallas Mavericks with Mark Cuban possibly trying to build some type

Of Casino SL brand new arena in Downtown Dallas and move their Arena there’s been speculation that Cuban wants to do that also the arena might have a bowling alley other features certainly this seems like something that Cuban would be interested in it would be a mega project

And it would very likely be a brand new state-of-the-art arena for the Dallas Mavericks in Downtown Dallas possibly moving out of their current Arena the American Airline Center which does have a very unique exterior I think the interior is kind of crappy but the exterior is very nice with a brick

Design either way it’s not necessarily a new arena in the NBA you can see this headline this was over a year ago Mark cubin envisions new Mavericks arena as centerpiece of Vegas style Casino and Resort in the state of Texas that would be a crazy Mega project if they actually

Built it and then the final potential new Arena I’m going to be talking about involves the Utah Jazz Who currently play at the Delta Center which is one of the worst Arenas in the NBA now it recently did get an interior renovation where they changed out all of the seats

But I would still probably say it’s a bottom five Arena and the situation with the state of Utah and Salt Lake City is very intriguing because right now they’re trying to attract either an MLB team or an NHL expansion team maybe they get the Arizona Coyotes either way it’s

Very important to look at the potential of them getting an NHL team because if they get an NHL team under the same ownership as the Utah Jazz they’re very likely will be a brand new Arena that gets built for the NHL team that moves to Salt Lake City and the Jazz

Subsequently will be also playing in that brand new Arena that could happen possibly by 2030 or the mid 2030s depending but the Delta Center is very old it just makes sense if you’re getting a new NHL team you would want to build a new arena for both the NHL team

And for the Jazz to where they could share it I could see something like that happening if they get the NHL team now if they don’t get the NHL team the Delta Center because it did get renovated about six years ago I think probably still has another 8 to 10 years on its

Life but Utah is pretty serious about upping their sports game maybe they get an MLB team and not an HL team and then you’re talking about a new MLB stadium in and around Salt Lake City I’ve already talked about that in other videos but in general the Delta Center

Is a an arena I’m seeing endangered at this point possibly being replaced and it could be fast-tracked if the state of Utah gets an NHL team so those are the ones to watch it is kind of a conjumbled mess what I can tell you is we know the

Intuit Dome is happening we know likely that Oklahoma City is getting a new Arena in 2029 possibly the Philadelphia 76ers are getting a new arena in 2031 possibly the Wizards are moving to Northern Virginia in 2029 and then also you’ve got speculation on the mega project that is

The Las Vegas Mega Resort campus NBA campus when they get an expansion team will they play at T-Mobile Arena or will they actually build a brand new campus resort with a brand new Arena that might have a trans translucent roof or retractable roof we will see but either

Way that is going to do it for this video make sure you follow me on X link to that’s always in the description

  1. as a san Antonio resident the frost bank center is not that far from downtown, without traffic maybe 10-15 minutes

  2. If Mavs get the new arenas. I think the stars might move to Dickie arena or will Rodgers memorial center. Because they have something there for the stars. Which causes the American airlines center to be gone. So can we agree here.

  3. Hey DG. How about a “Renderings vs. Reality” series on how the finished arenas stack up to the proposed renderings?

  4. The Delta Center will likely get an attached hotel and stay in use for the Salt Palace convention center. Smith actually owns the arena as well as the Jazz. My guess is that he sells it to the county in return for some funding for his own arena likely on 400 South and Main.

  5. As a Brit just expanding my knowledge on American sports venues (for no particular reason!) I appreciate your videos man!

  6. The 76ers Actually Are Being Smart By Planning For Their Future Arena 7 Years In ADVANCE !¡! They Would’ve Moved Earlier BUT Their Current Lease Agreement Does NOT Expire Until The 🔚 Of Year 2030! This Is The Reason They (76ers) Are Planning This Far In Advance. Also, The 76ers Are 2nd Class Citizens In Their Own Arena. The Flyers Gets 🥇Priority On Home Game 📆s & The Owner Of The Arena, Comcast Spectacor, Also Owns The Philadelphia Flyers So There Is A Conflict Of Interest From Both The Philadelphia Flyers & Comcast Spectacor¡!¡ The 76ers Also Have To Share (Split) A % Of Their HIGHLY LUCRATIVE Food & Beverage Concessions Revenue. Also, Because The 76ers Are A Tenant, They Have To Pay Rent For Comcast Spectacor Arena (🤷🏿‍♂️, Whatever It’s 📞 Today). All Of These Things Is Why The 76ers, Even In The 5th Largest 📺 Market In 🇺🇸, Are NOT Amongst The Most Valuable NBA Franchises In The NBA.
Another Reason The 76ers Are Planning So Far In Advance For Their New Arena Is Where The Arena Is Going To Be Located:

    The 🇨🇳Town District.

The Team Wants To Be Good Co-Habitats With The Community Of 🇨🇳Town & Alleviate ANY Problems, Fears, Challenges Or Concerns That May Arise With A Project Of This Magnitude. So, The Earlier The Team Presents Its Plans, The More Likely A Solution (Compromise) Will Occur & There Will Be NO Delays ¡!¡

  7. Funny how the Wiz arena is downtown. I'm from the DMV and think it's located in a perfect area where teams like the Sixers and Spurs are trying to move down town

  8. About the possible expansion Vegas team: so basically what the narrator was saying is that the new arena will be like what exists at Mohegan Sun (home of the WNBA Sun) and Mandalay Bay (home of the WNBA Aces)…..just probably on a bigger, ritzier scale…..

  9. Chicago bulls need new stadium too United Center is ugly stadium but chicago bulls does need new stadium too

  10. Intuit dome looks gray and drab. Looks old already.
The interior bowl looks bad too. Its too narrow for the wall thing. Too many tunnels.

  11. I’ve been very patiently waiting for the renderings of the new OKC Thunder stadium… why are they taking so long to show us?

  12. Coming from someone who lives in the Philadelphia area and fan of the sixers and flyers, 76er Place is absolutely not happening. No one in the city wants this arena and there are even multiple petitions going around to get rid of this idea all together. Plus wells fargo center just got massive renovations in the past 5 years and is beloved by everyone in the city so it is pretty safe to say that 76er place is likely not gonna happen. It better not at least.

  13. I live in the OKC area

The OKC arena is still very early in the planning stages. They are still deciding on a site for it. Renderings won’t happen for a while, but it’s going to be massive, almost double the current footprint of the current Paycom Center. I’d be very surprised if it didn’t go over $1 billion by the time it’s all said and done. Plus you have to remember that OKC is one of the cheapest metro areas in the USA. Building the same arena in LA would cost close to double

  14. When the Spurs arena was built, everyone knew it was a crappy location in an industrial and poorer economic area. IE, nobody wanted to go or hang out there and there was nothing to do other than the Spurs.

The reasoning the city and ownership gave is that the Arena would revitalize and spur (no pun intended) economic development on the east side and make the area more appealing. 20 years later, the Arena's exterior looks like shit and the area still sucks.

  15. At the time the Paycom Center was planned and built it was assumed that it would likely attract an NHL team rather than an NBA team.

  16. I love these youtubers that say the Wells Fargo renovation wasn't good enough. Like dude, the arena feels brand new… you have no idea what you're talking about haha

  17. god damn dude I feel like you've made this EXACT video 5 times just in february. feeling so oversaturated by your account. do you give two shits about quality over quantity? seems like you would make fun of the type of youtube account youve turned into……..
