So that is awesome man all right so Raul is joining us today because we’re gonna ask a big question that’s probably on the Spurs panss right now is that can the Spurs avoid disaster disaster meaning the worst record in franchise history it was set last year with 22

Wins right now they only got 11 well as of this recording they have 11 you know depending on the outcome of the Spurs Kings game yeah but there’s only about 25 27 games is left in the season and that’s it Raul can this team avoid

Disaster can they at least get 22 to tie yeah well uh remember that in 1996 97 season they went uh 20 and 62 uh so that’s their that’s their worst record that’s their worst record okay that’s the worst record so and right now sitting at 11 wins with uh with just

About 25 games to go I don’t see them winning nine more games this year yeah uh as much as I’d love to uh and they could surprise us they could you know they could uh you know string together uh a few wins uh and and you know hopefully not

Uh break that you know futile record uh but you know you look at you look at the remaining schedule I was looking at the schedule and I just went game by game uh and I’ve got them winning one two three four five six seven more games which would put them at

18 uh the you know the Spurs at Lakers in a couple of nights that one I have as a toss-up so could be could be nine wins which would put him at 20 and 62 and and tied four their their worst record ever uh but uh even at that even at at 18

Wins they still wouldn’t be in the uh in the top 10 uh worst all-time finishes which uh you you never want to be in in that company but you know you look at the 73 the 1973 uh Philadelphia 76ers they went uh 9 and

73 and then the 2016 SE uh 76ers went 10 and 72 um those are the two worst records in in in an 82 Game season there are others uh that had the Charlotte Hornets in the shortened season in 2012 I think uh won uh seven seven games that year uh right

But but there was only 60s something games that year so they they may have won two more games that year had it been an 82 Game season uh but then you go down the list and you’ve got uh you know the the 93 Mavericks and the 98 nuggets

Had 11 wins uh then there’s uh the Clippers and the Nets had 12 win Seasons uh Mavs Hawks Rockets Grizzlies all had 13 and 14 uh win seasons so hopefully they don’t fall in that that top 10 uh that top 10 range but you know

It it is what it is it is yeah yeah and you know I I know people are talking about you know that the team is tanking uh for the top pick or you know to be near the top you know there’s never any guarantee last year wasn’t guaranteed uh

The Spurs you know uh in uh what year was it 8990 uh no in the 86 87 season there were 28 and 54 um and the the Clippers Nets and Knicks all had better records than them okay and and Spurs ended up with the top pick and and got David

Robinson uh who had to fulfill his his military obligation and didn’t join the team until the 89 season along with with Shawn Elliot so he came into a situation you know that I think people thought that wemi coming in was was going to you know turn this franchise around

Immediately but Wy came into a totally different situation than David Robinson came into uh you know when in 80 in the 8990 season when David and Shawn were were were rookies um they also had Terry Cummings Mike Mitchell Maurice Cheeks Rod Strickland Willie Anderson who was coming off as the leading score the

Previous season um and it was an upgrade from from that 21 and 61 one team um and you know so you know the that roster on on that team that went 21 and 61 I mean they had Greg Cadillac Anderson Frank Browski uh and like I said Willie Anders

Willie Anderson was was our leading score uh I think he was in his first or second year uh and you know it it the situation that Robinson and Elliot came into and the situation that Duncan came into uh they came in with with Bonafide players that were going to

Help the franchise turn around almost immediately right what we’re seeing with with wmy and all these young people you know it just it’s not gonna happen overnight no no it’s it’s not gonna happen right now Vegas has the Spurs winning 16 that’s the updated win total

Projection so just five more wins on the season now where I think Vegas um you know look you never been against the house the Vegas predicted Spurs would what a what a 22 23 win season for this year we scoffed at it we laughed at it

And guess what you know they were right but the what I what I see that could help the Spurs avoid that kind of dubious honor is if maybe some of the power teams they play late in the season start resting guys you know but Dallas rest L Luca you know their playoff run

You know low management he starts hitting them that that could be it also too you know there comes to a point Raul where and I think they’re there already well you got to start thinking yeah maybe you start thinking about the draft I I know this is not a very heavy duty

All powered draft but you start you have to start thinking about that like okay sure let maybe there’s not a Bonafide Power Star like last year with wiby right but you could start thinking about getting the best position maybe to trade out of the top five get a deal done you

Know I think that has to keep going through their mind right now but I’m I’m going to go with Vegas I think 16 wins I think that’s all they got I think that that’s it I mean bar any Miracle run they get or or wheny just goes Supernova

On on everybody exactly yeah it’s uh it’s going to be a challenge and you know so what does that mean looking looking forward it’s unlikely that the Spurs are going to get the top pick again they’ll be in the lottery yeah uh but the chances that you know ping pong

Balls or whatever you know whatever method they use now uh fall their way for the number one pick again uh you know you’ll have conspiracy theorists thinking you know there you know there’s there’s no way envelope cold envelope for exactly yeah so you know so what’s the biggest need right now it’s a

Playmaker I I think I really think you need a point guard uh and possibly you know Nicola topic is is available at that spot I think he’s a I think he’s a top three pick you the spur can land you know land in the in the top three spots

Uh so that meets the biggest need now granted he’s been injured uh but before his injury you know playing in the adriatics uh League you know he’s averaging 19 points uh and and seven SE about seven assists uh per game he’s you know he’s a good ball handler uh his his

His shooting comes into question great free throw shooter but but just questionable too yeah and his defense is questionable so then you look at all right if available do you go with you know the the better player or the need and I I for me I’d go with the better

Player how pop and Brian Wright think it through might be completely different uh but if if the Spurs could land Alexander SAR um and team him up with wmy you know that’d be that’d be great be yeah but you know those are a lot of ifs yeah

There’s a lot of ifs for again for me you know the other options I mention right now is trading out of the top five let’s just say they land the top five or you know trade out even top 10 trade out of that uh you know because a this team

Is only going to get younger if they get one of the guy and they bring him in on the roster yeah when the lack of Veteran presence that you mentioned is sortly lacky you know you mentioned the Willie Anderson Terry Cummings R Strickland Mo Cheeks you know for though that that

Type of imprint that this team needs now look there’s something to be said about having these kids come up together and growing together and becoming that team you know Peter Hol told a French media Outlet uh that their goal is to turn this Spurs back into a what was it like

A dynasty or a Powerhouse team but if you want to get there you’re gonna have to mix in veterans now but that’s the thing right because let’s just say can you imagine they run it back they run it back with the exact same team techic there’ll be veterans on the

Squad Kell Devin uh I don’t know how long how many years it takes to not be considered a rookie or a young guy V wmy will be in his second year Trey Jones will be entering another year so there’s something to say about that but can you

Imagine Raul if they run it back again with the same roster for me I wouldn’t be surprised though yeah I you just don’t see the Spurs uh you know in the last 25 years making you know outside of signing LaMarcus Aldridge is a free agent uh and

Bringing in Demar d rozan uh for a year uh you just don’t see the Spurs bringing in uh you know uh veterans that will make a starting lineup impact yeah they’ve always brought in free agents or or made some trades where they get pieces uh for for players that you know

That that are going to complement what you’ve got but a player that’s gonna come in and make a total impact I pop that’s just not that’s never been Pop Style we we need Bob bass to come back and run the GM spot again Trader Bob needs to come

Back trader Bob exactly yeah you know and and I was thinking about that that uh that 20 and 62 season uh you know Robinson Robinson missed the first 18 games with a back injury uh comes back plays six games and then breaks his foot right uh and sea Elliot only played 39 games

That season uh because he had tendonitis in his right knee and had to have surgery uh so those may be the two best injuries if you can say such a thing oh yeah to ever happen for a franchise uh because in the words of Shawn Elliott if

David Robinson doesn’t go out there’s no Tim Duncan and there’s no Dynasty exactly plain and simple exactly and what the Spurs did uh you know again and I’ll reiterate it I’ve said it before we got spoiled 22 consecutive playoff appearances is unheard of and I I’m almost certain that

It’ll never happen again due to free agency uh due to due to it’s just a different mindset of players so many of these players you know they want their bank and you know they’ll play you know whatever 15 years and and they’re gone or they’re they’re jumping

Out me you you know you look at someone like Kawai as as a premier player as he is he’s already on his third team you just don’t see players you know staying look at James Harden James Harden’s you know per perennial All-Star how many teams has he been on already um so many

You know you know and I and I think back it’s funny because I remember when when OKC was up and coming with Durant Westbrook and Harden had that had that core stayed together they would have been Tim Tony and Manu all over again yeah um and and could have had a a

Really long run but Eagles get in the way contracts get in the way and so what we had here in San Antonio was extremely special you had player you had Tim Duncan and David Robinson always restructuring their contracts to keep players here Tony always took less than

What he was really worth Manu took way less than what he was ever what what he was worth you know on the open market uh just to keep that that that team together and they totally bought into the team concept and they created something that we may never see again in the

NBA and and you look at the Spurs right now circling back uh to um the whole uh you know where they avoid disaster you know as far as get the worst record even like just just the end the back end of the rotary road trip they got they

Had the Kings last night they got the Lakers tonight you know then when they get then they got what um the Jazz which might be winnable Jazz wolves the t- Wolves might be a problem but then they come back home ra and then they get oh

Yeah welcome back you got OKC yeah so uh and Pacers and Pacers right yeah exactly you know welcome home um well welcome back McDermot so here’s the thing it’s going to be tough I don’t see the Spurs avoiding disaster I think they’ll fall

Uh I I mean it it’ll be a win if they hit nine to at least tie the uh you know 20 I mean that that’d be a win I guess but yeah I’m not I’m not feeling it I’m not feeling I think Vegas spot on I

Think you’re right it’s going to be a tough road ahead for the spur to avoid disaster but uh yeah there we have it you know just based on the strength of schedule I think the Spurs do have one of the toughest strength of schedules to

The season abut I was I was looking at it yeah they’ve got they got to play the Kings twice they got to play The Warriors three times I think still yeah uh the Nuggets twice uh yeah uh the sun’s back to back then then they have a uh home games

Versus Brooklyn and Denver in Austin yeah so yeah it’s GNA be rough Spurs fan so uh I I think spor fans already accepted that that this might be their worst record uh in franchise history yeah and and you can’t get mad people you know fans get mad oh they you know

They’re this they’re that and you know any uh adjective that you can think of that you know they throw it to Spurs and no man it’s it’s a it’s you know cliche as it sounds it’s a process uh you know you look at what what OKC is doing now you know a couple

Of years ago man they were in the same position as the Spurs uh but with draft picks and picking up some players and you know granted uh you know Shay has just been Gang Busters I mean what you know what a what a gem they found in in

That when when they got it from the Clippers um you know so it’s it is what it is and I think I think if fans just remain patient you know and the team’s GNA turn it around and you’re you know as long as wmy is is your your

Cornerstone uh you know there there’s a good 10 to 12 uh year run um you know in the future yeah I I think they probably won’t get out of the rebuild Forest until maybe couple more years I think it’ll be and then they’ll be hitting okay we’re a playing game a tournament a

Lockdown Spurs with the OG Flores according to Raul uh according I’m sorry the OG Raul according to Raul Dominguez he is Raul Flores uh right here on locked off where making his second appearance and again uh you know you look from those posters you see behind

From Gino Rivera uh his uh he’s having a reaction to the recent um interview that Zack Collins did with the spokesman review uh just to catch you up rul in that interview uh he was you know praising wmy you know for his work ethic you know being so young you know pretty

Much everything we heard interesting though within that interview though he was asked if he would lik you know about moving from the starting lineup when he was paired with wmy now he’s not paired with wmy for much his time he’s not on the bench in that interview he said that he

Would like to return to that pairing as the season winds up need to say Spurs fans had a reaction to that this one comes from Gino Rivera he says honestly I thought Zach would have been a good fit with wimy but he can’t make shots to

Keep the spacing what do you think about that is it just Lally coming down to just two different players you got a wimy who can do almost everything and Zach who is good but not at the level of wimy and they were just running into each other so many times what are your

Thoughts about that yeah he’s you know I I I thought when the Spurs signed Zack I thought it was a great pickup uh you know I I I was excited about it uh and you know he was coming off you know almost two years of not playing um

Because of injuries and so it took him all of last season to just kind of get acclimated so I expected a whole lot more out of him this year um but that that Chemistry Between the two uh just hasn’t been where it needs to be uh you

Know uh what was the the the person’s name Gino Gino yeah gin Gino yeah he’s he’s absolutely right you know they’re uh they’re not clicking the way they should and and Zack Collins is very sporadic in his shooting you know he’ get on a hot streak and and hit you know

Three three pointers in a row and then he’ll Clank six uh and so you know that that that lack of consistency forces defenses to to not play him as tight and and you know double up on on on wemy or or anybody else uh and you know

And and and challenge Zack to take that shot um I think where Zach uh really needs to be is inside the paint banging bodies he he needs to be that Bruiser that enforcer uh you know uh blocking out uh so many times I see him and he just

Misses a blockout a simple blockout you know and it’s fundamental fundamental basketball you know I’m uh I’m um you know five foot five yeah really really I I thought you can take on Wy 101 yeah and and I just I I can’t block I you know I yeah I want to block somebody

Out but I can’t but at you know 611 whatever Zach is you he should be he should be blocking out bodies and and he’s got them he’s got the strength to do it uh he just misses misses the spots yeah exactly and I looked at some of the

Numbers um you know I wrote something up for Ken 5 about this and the the onoff the the the two-man combo with wimy and uh Zach so with uh wimy and Zach on the court together this year the net rating was a minus 10.4 rounded up 10.5 okay

But when wmy was on the court without Zach and Zach’s on the bench the net rating SP well spikes up you know to minus four so just that s alone told you that you know it was perhaps a better way to move Zack to the bench and let Wy

Do his thing but look he’s H Zack Hollins he’s having career highs and assists this year and uh I believe in free field goals attempted so he’s having a serviceable year you know he’s really still good yeah you know but it’s just yeah they I think they were just

Running into each other too much and they were just a contrast of styles so we appreciate that comment from Gino Rivera we appreciate it before we move on to the next comment final thoughts on the Zach Collins wmy thing no I think uh you know I think it’s it’s a I don’t

Think it’s a it’s an experiment that that should be completely just you know let go uh I think there’s there’s still the possibility that that the two can work together uh at the same time on the court uh they they just need to you know

You know we’re what uh 50 games into the season games in yeah yeah you know give it a SE seon uh and then give them an offse to work together absolutely and see where that goes because I I think all right yeah I think he’s more than just a serviceable player yeah exactly

And the Spurs invested in him they gave him a new contract so yeah we’ll see what they do with that all right our next question is from Roberto Maldonado 2723 he says and this is regarding the Trey young Spurs rumors rul he says I’m against the Trey Young trade because it

Doesn’t feel like a trade you make when you’re are one of the bottom four teams the trade trade seems more logical when you’re a contender traded all of our assets to improve to a seventh or eigh seed playoff team seems premature thank you Roberto for that comment yeah that’s

Been on the lips of Spurs fans uh since and it’s spiked during the All-Star break because of Trey Young’s comments about what wimy needs to succeed he was basically describing himself right and then of course you know the the reports and whatnot where do you land on this uh

Do you think this is more smoke or smoke than fire or buy or sell I think it’s it’s more smoke just based on his comments you know people jump on it right away I don’t see Trey ever coming here and if he did it’s going to be an
