Be an Allstar which I think is Big Eat Your Heart Out kid Cunningham Evan Mobley Jaylen green albron shangu and everyone else uh see yeah first allar out of his draft class gives you a lot of reason to believe he could be something special I think management being Messiah J Bobby Webster and

Everybody else have really kind of tied their future with the Raptors to Scotty Barnes and building a team around Scotty Barnes and whether or not that works out well for them uh might lead to some future either job security or lack thereof but it’s way too early to talk

About that although I really do think that’s pretty much the reality there um and I can see why you would want to invest in a player like Barnes and especially at this point like you know what you had wasn’t working to this point uh for Toronto in terms of the

Construction you’ve torn this team down you’re rebuilding it from the ground up and you’re rebuilding it around Scotty there’s nobody left in his way right and the back half of this season is going to be about development that’s obviously the buzz word um in Toronto is development and whose development is

More important than Scot Barnes nobody’s right like there’s no more ex I don’t want to say excuse but there’s nothing standing in his way in terms of you know being a hight touches player and just seeing some of the roles offensively and and offensive sets and other such that

He could potentially see himself in you know maybe some sets that were run for Pascal seak you look at Scotty Barnes and you think to yourself hey maybe we can run a few of those for him see if that works out or obviously design whole new sets around Scotty Barnes and just

Put him in position to succeed and honestly even have a little bit of fun with it right like again you’re not really trying to push for the playoffs or anything this season so you have the luxury of just experimenting with your offense experimenting with the spots in which you can put Scotty Barnes

Offensively and seeing what yields really positive results or where there’s some real Room to Grow right like you had a lot of situations say like I think of I really think of like Milwaukee with like Giannis and really letting him handle the ball really letting him essentially run point for them and I

Think about how much that developed Giannis as an offensive player and I think quite frankly in terms of how raw Giannis was at one point and you know Scotty Barnes and who he is as a talent I think Barnes is far less raw offensively and there’s a lot more to

Work on I know that’s potentially maybe a little bit of a spicy take but take it for what you will so you know run some of those sets for him where you’re really featuring him as the guy and really find a way to build that offense

Around him like if that’s not what the back half this season is about then what are we doing here speaking of development great Grady dick is another big part of that right as far as the rest of the season goes Grady dick for the most part has kind of been like a

Slow burn when it comes to the season uh in terms of you know he had a little bit of a shaky start in the sense that he really wasn’t getting minutes really was spending a lot of time in the G and a lot of people were panicking being like

Oh my God we drafted we drafted a bus we drafted you know gry dick when we could have had like this and other player and like hey don’t get me wrong as far as the back half of that argument goes like you can always look hindsight and find

Players after the pick where your team selected and go yeah you know what we probably should have taken that player and you know what hindsight it’s always 2020 with that kind of so it is what it is but as far as Grady dick himself goes I really do think people

Were pushing the panic button a little bit too early Grady shows plenty of Promise of being at the very least a highquality starter in the league for I’d say a decent amount of time like I really do think he will grow into that and quite frankly I really hope I really

Hope for the back part of this season for the back I’m just going to call it the back half from here for the back half of this season that Darko rakovich does not shy away from giving Grady dick minutes he’s had moments of you know

Being the one like good spot from like a lot of blowout games you know like I think of uh the Spurs game where he you know led the team in scoring was really efficient um from the field I believe he was seven of 10 off the top of my head

Uh in that game four or five from three-point land uh or the Pelicans game I believe he was the Raptor’s leading scorer for that game where again like he played efficient he played good offensive basketball and obviously the team got torched but that’s kind of my

Point is your biggest goal in this back half the season isn’t really to be winning games so give guys like Grady dick who you have you know invested I’d say a decent amount into and who should be reasonable parts of your future moving forward give them the play time

Give them the minutes let him run for like 25 minutes a night you know 30 minutes a night whatever like give him a chance to grow into the player that he can be in this league because I still do think a lot of Grady dick like I think

He’s easily going to be a starter quality player in the league um at worst or sorry at best maybe he I’m going back to like my draft expectations here I thought in an absolute best case scenario he could be like a Klay Thompson for you and actually quite frankly like gr’s better

Off the dribble than Clay is um especially I’d say in like this part of their careers so wow that’s that’s my I guess that’s another Sound by from this video damn first one was uh Scotty and Yannis now uh it’s this and obviously I’m trying to

Look at this in a glass half full type of scenario naturally when your team is as bad as the Raptors are like you’re really if you’re not throwing out Good Vibes hoping towards the future like what are you really doing here um so again I’m I’m looking at this

Glass half full type of mindset so take that for what you will but I really do think Grady has a good future in this league and I’d like to see the back half of the Season be one where he has a chance to really grow into the player

That he can be now for this last section here I want to talk About Emanuel quickly and I’m going to try an experiment here where I don’t know if this going to get me demonetized but there is a clip that I really like from uh after practice where quickly was

Talking to reporters and he mentions some things that I want to talk about so I’m just going to throw it up on screen the coach of staff is tell me to shoot lot a lot more they think I’m passing up a lot of shots still learning when to be

Ultra aggressive and when to get my teammates involved the balance of it how to find guys where they want the ball things like that uh flow of the game rhym of the game all while you know still playing defense at a high level so

Um you know it’s a lot but I’m I’m I’m I’m having fun learning all of it because this is what I wanted I wanted you know to be challenged and you know this is what I wanted now that you’ve seen that Emanuel quickly I think naturally when you trade

For Emanuel quickly I think the Raptors had some lofty expectations of what he could be in Toronto and quite frankly like the vision is there and I understand the appeal of Emanuel quickly and as he’s stated in the um in the video like adjusting to the new role

Hasn’t been easy for quickly right like and there’s still a lot of adjusting to do in particular I think there’s an adjustment to be had between him and Scotty Barnes where you can kind of tell when you watch those two guys together that the chemistry isn’t quite there yet

And why quite frankly would it be because he was a mid-season arrival to a team that was kind of already set in their ways to some extent and quite frankly a team that is now trying to figure out what their quote unquote new ways are going to be so naturally

There’s going to be chemistry issues there and it’s one of those things that it’s it should develop over time that’s the thing but there are times where I feel like you watch quickly on the court with Scotty Barnes and maybe those guys are just trying not to step on each

Other’s toes a little bit or whatever the case is but you can tell just the chemistry hasn’t fully developed there and once it does like I really do think Scotty and IQ can play off each other really well in particular like I think IQ complement Scotty’s game really well

I think IQ can really free himself up for some open looks off some of the things that Scotty Barnes is going to try to do I’d also really like to see some of those guys potentially run some sets together with um you know the pick and roll I think that could be

Interesting um yeah like I’d really love to see the back half of this season feature a focus on developing Scotty Barnes and quickly together in terms of playing together because I think there is a lot of potential and what can be had there that just currently has not

Been had because naturally these guys haven’t had that much time realistically to really get acclimated to each other and if your focus is going to be development for the rest of this season that’s probably as big of a thing is you want to develop as anything else right

That’s pretty much going to do it for me what do you folks think do you think there’s somebody who’s a bigger Focus than the three players that I’ve mentioned if there is comment below who you think it is and comment who you would drop out of the three to kind of
