Is Deni Avdija The Best Player On The Wizards, How To Guard Him and More.
Denny avdia is arguably the best player on the Washington Wizards right now in his last four games as of the time of this recording he has averaged 28 points on 11.5 rebounds per game while shooting 52% from three and 63% overall from the field he has been on fire recently and
Quite honestly his ability to just truck the defense for a wide open layup to the hoop is the most exciting part about watching the Washington Wizards for me at least Denny is listed as 6’9 and plays mostly at the three and four spot with a 51 to a 46% split and more
Recently he has been playing at the five with the second unit a player with these positional estimates you’d assume that he’d be rolling to the hoop or playing the postup more often than not but with Denny it’s quite the opposite really overall his play style is actually very
Versatile and that kind of makes sense because he is a very versatile offensive player who can quite literally do anything the pick and role as a ball handler is his most used play style sitting at 14% followed by cutting to the hoop and then the isolation now to
Understand Denny’s game you must first understand his three-point shooting on around three attempts a game his three point percentage is about 41% and his catch and shoot three is 42% which makes sense because a majority of his three-point shots are actually off a catch and shoot and because he shoots
Around 41% overall the defense has to play really close to him otherwise he will shoot without hesitation and there’s a good chance it’s going to go in with that being said it’s no surprise that Denny actually really likes attacking the Closeouts which makes it quite a dilemma for the defense
Considering that he drives to the hoop about eight times per game which to be honest sounds about right considering that he doesn’t run the offense as much as he should be but we’ll get more into that later anyways on these eight drives per game he makes about 54% of his
Attempts which is why it’s quite a dilemma and this actually carries over to the pick and roll if the defense plays under the screen or plays really low on the coverage again he’s going to shoot the three without hesitation and if you play the drop coverage on him
Then he will use that Runway space to generate momentum and just truck his way to the Rim especially against smaller guards which is why you actually can’t switch on him either because like I said if you switch a smaller guard onto him he’s just going to truck through them
And if you’re switching a bigger Center on him who can’t quite keep up with his speed he’s just going to blow by them for wide open layup to the hoop now the best way to guard him from what I’ve seen is to actually force him to shoot
The midrange shot and you can usually do this by having a defensive anchor in the middle of the paint the opposing team also have to make sure that everybody else on the play stays at home Denny is capable of making that crosscourt weak side pass to the open shooter I want to
Mention the one thing I did notice that gets Denny in trouble quite a bit sometimes in the middle of the pick and roll as he’s driving to the paint he decides to or instinctively just stops his dribble right in the middle which never really ends well for him because
It leads to a turnover or a block shot and this is why his scin frequency during the pick and roll is around 38% which for context just like my previous video regarding Jaden Ivy this puts him in the company of Jason Tatum and Steph Curry who also both shoot around 39% but
Like I mentioned in that video this isn’t really a fair assessment considering that Jason Tatum and Steph Curry mostly uses jump shots his isolation game is quite impressive as well with a scoring frequency of around 46% which puts him in the company with Anthony Davis and Julius Randall but
Like I mentioned earlier Denny Advia is a very versatile player with a very versatile play style using the isolation and the pick and roll is just a great way to Showcase everything he can do offensively and overall Danny Advia is what I like to call the perfect plug-in
Player because if you take him out of Washington and just plug him into the other 29 teams he’ll fit right in offensively and there shouldn’t be that many issues for him to adapt to the offensive play Styles I do hope that in the future the Washington Wizards make
Him more of a primary ball handler and judging by these recent games it looks like it’s already heading in that direction so leave a comment down below and let me know how you feel about Danny avvia and the Washington Wizards and if you’re new to this Channel please like

Deni is a beast! Finally he’s getting some recognition. Kid can become a 2way franchise player. You didn’t talk about his defense. The combo of his defense and his offensive game is what makes him so special. Great video!!
As an Israeli it's so much fun seeing play like this
הצפת ישראלים….3…2…1
Star was born in dc
Great detailed video!
As of right now, yes Deni is the best player on this sorry ass team. They also got a rookie Bilal Coulibaly who will be their best player in the next 2-3 years.
great video! Deni used to have a good post up game in Europe but in he NBA he didn't really get the chance to do it more
