He averaging like 21 &6 on 45|40|78 shooting spiltes for south bay. He a dawg

  2. CutLonzosHair2017

Vander Blue averaged like 26/5/5 in the G-League. Caruso was averaging 14/5 in the G-League. G-League stats don’t carry over.

  3. thevisitor

Talen Horton Tucker was also amazing in the G League. It’s cool to see but to take with a grain of salt until they’re doing that in actual games.

  4. Probably should have drafted JJJ but JHS isn’t a lost cause. One promising thing about him is he has great size and athleticism for defense and seems to have a willingness to work on it. If he can get to place where he can comfortably hit open jumpers consistently, and so far his progression there looks good, he can grow into a 3 and D combo guard which is a valuable skill set. So here’s hoping.

Scoot came from the G-League and look at him.

Now remember that everyone else in the G-League is worse.

  6. guacdoc24

Dude is 19/20 yrs old in one of the toughest positions in the league. Of course he just needs time.

  7. Pre_Nut_Confusion

Everyone doom and gloom on him. This is good guys!

  8. FlatBirthday333

Everytime I look at these highlights the passing and the defense look NBA ready. Maybe we shouldve just gave him a consistent 2-5 mins from the start of the season and he wouldnt look like a deer in the headlights…. but then again that’d be eating into Taurean Prince time

I see the G league like college ball except a step up because they’re technically professionals. Putting up average numbers will produce a below average player in the NBA. Putting up all star numbers consistently will produce a good rotation player. If they were good enough to play without getting reps in the g league they would have. Jhs is a rotation player, that’s his ceiling. He will never be relied on to take over games.

  10. with fans like ours who needs haters. if he was ass in the gleague yall would be saying it further proves hes a bust. the gleague is a good league now, full of nba vets and young guys who could play in europe or china but chose to stay in the US bc they raised salaries to be competitive.

does any of this mean hes gonna be good? no, but hes working on his game and improving and can hopefully help in the future.

  11. BodegaDaddy

we drafted a prospect when we should’ve drafted a nba ready player

  12. Bigpoppalos

Just wait until yr 2-3. Dudes a big guard. Hell be great. Patience

  13. Outside_Energy_8105

One thing promising is that he has a big frame and does seem to have a good IQ. Tries to make the right reads. He could be a decent player once he gets comfortable with the NBA game. There’s still hesitancy so it’s going to take a season at least.

  14. kennnn394

Go checkout mac mcclung’s gleague stats lol dude is averaging 24/4/7

  15. c_c_c__combobreaker

He’s being coached in the G-league by somebody other than Ham.

  16. ocathlet714

It’s not his fault at all, but gotta realize expectations are bound to be high when the three players drafted after him are all hitting.

  17. Spaghettibeach

I like seeing him get his reps and improving, I genuinely want the best for everyone who plays for us. Hopefully he can make better use of this time than Pip Jr, at least improve enough to gain more value in the trade market

  18. Glockx8732

Even if we drafted jjj or podziemski darvin would still have been playing prince or cam reddish over them anyway, I don’t trust ham to get the most out of any players on the roster let alone rookies

  19. basecardripper

People are quick to hate, sadly seems to get them through their day. JHS might not pan out, but he’s a project and the Lakers scouting department don’t really miss that often. I’m rooting for him, he has the physical tools and a solid basketball foundation to build on, and at 20 years old time is on his side.

  20. ProblematicAndCrazy

JHS has the body and the intangibles to be a pretty good NBA point guard. He needs to improve his shot mechanics and his decision making. Just like most PG prospects do when they first enter the league. I have not given up on him. He was drafted with the full understanding that it would take some time to develop

  21. Lucieddreams

Comments in here are so fucking miserable bro, just support the damn kid.

“so and so averaged x in the G-league and he sucks” guess what, no one cares bro, go stink up another sub we don’t need your joy-sucking negativity here

  22. Public-Product-1503

Not just that but he’s at a ridiculous 65ts n 57 efg in the g league. Numbers better then bufkin n cam whitnore . 4.5 3s a game at 42%, 4.2 Fta too , this might be better now but seems kid has talent . Watching him he’s no longer settling for middies, he’s got a dangerous pull up 3 and plenty of the commentators talk how strong he is and imo he could leverage that strength into scoring in the nba and get fts. Oh n he’s supposed to be a defensive oriented gusrd . Want to see him more in g league he looks ekite there. Only 13% shot diet in midrange so he’s going to rim fouls n 3s which was my concern . Improving as passer. Wish we had a shot to use him but oh well. I already think I believe in him more then tht he’ll have a better jumper and handle

  23. The image is missing the important part: 6 TO’s. 6 TO’s in the G-League is like 15 in the NBA

  24. NoPin5154

Bro needs to go to pyschologist this shit is comically mental

  25. gameguyguru

He plays nervous when he plays for us. He feels the pressure. Hopefully he can harness that and develop into a solid player.

  26. Transluminal_light

He needs playing time to get into a rhythm. Not going to get it on the Laker bench.

  27. It’s a confidence thing. He plays unsure with NBA speed.

  28. witcher317

Guys playing in Taiwan and Philippines put up insane numbers when they’re in G league too. Once they’re in the big league they’re useless. Not holding my breath for JHS

  29. SAMAHANKITA

He’s too good for the g league but not yet in the nba for timetime

  30. Playing against G League players and playing against NBA players is completely different. That being said, he also needed to play more to develop, and he was never going to get that on a team that’s trying to win a championship this season.

  31. TheWonderfulLife

Ham isn’t down in the G League. That’s the difference.

  32. _AgainstTheGrain_

That’s cool but he needs to do it against NBA level talent.

  33. DLoadingKeanu

JHS is kind of ass. So many mid players go off in the g league that wouldn’t even sniff 15th man minutes.
