PREVIEWING the Battle for LA 👀 Can hurt Clippers MATCH UP to LeBron & the Lakers? 😳 | SportsCenter

Sign me up for this one tonight the end of an era the hallway series over after tonight because the Clippers were taking on the Lakers for the last time as co-tenants of the same Arena of course the Clippers will be moving to their own digs in Englewood last season and maybe

The Lakers are glad to see them go 2 and 12 against the Clippers in the last 14 meetings between the teams certainly our two reporters on the scene know that well out in La we’ve got Dave McMan who covers the Lakers for us and om young Mook who’s all about the clippers but

I’m going to start with you Dave how healthy are the Lakers for this hallway series finale well of course they’re still missing some of their reliable role players and guys like Jared Vanderbilt Gabe Vincent are still out but Anthony Davis who missed practice yesterday because of upper respiratory

Infection is considered probable to play and also they should get Cam reddish back for the first time since the Lakers played the Clippers back in late January January 23rd he’s been out with an angle injury ever since the Lakers went through practice practice a rare practice on Tuesday to work on their

Rebounding they’ve been outrebounded by 24 in their last two losses to the Warriors and the Suns they know that they need to help out ad by getting boarded so not just the big man in the middle and also they could try to end this hallway series on a high note the

Clippers are 37-8 against the Lakers here in this building since the 2012 2013 season that’s really when everything turned around for the Clippers Lakers have been dominating it before then in fact if those big names aren’t enough to sell you on this let’s just show you some of that recent

History how close these games are since they started sharing the venue in 1999 the Clippers hold the edge in the series it’s bolstered by them winning 12 of their last 14 I mentioned that over the Lakers but here’s the thing and this is why you should tune in right the 96

Previous meetings in that building have been decided by an average of 1 Point per game so they have been tight ones as we bring own back in to talk about the Clippers perspective here we already know that Paul Paul George has been ruled out but what’s been the biggest

Challenge for Tao’s team lately L they’re going to have to try to beat the Lakers without Paul George who’s going to miss his second straight game due to left knee soreness also starting center I Zu zubot has been downgraded to questionable due to illness the Clippers have not been playing their best

Basketball since returning from their Grammy trip in early February they’ve alternated wins and losses in their last seven games in L if anything they may have shown an Achilles heel to dealing with teams that long athletic and good defensive teams especially teams that can protect the paint and the rim like

The Lakers who have Anthony Davis roaming around in the paint the Lakers actually beat the Clippers twice early this year and the Clippers lone win against the Lakers came when LeBron James sat tyo had to last two days off to try to get his team to mentally lock

Back in and if anything this should motivate them because as you said this is their last time facing the Lakers in the regular season as co-tenants before they move into their brand new home home in the in Dome next season to play little Devil’s Advocate before you at

Home go here we go with the Clippers and they’re always hurt not been the case this year in fact their starting lineup is the third best record behind only the Celtics and Nuggets the only teams they Trail in the title odds to om young masso Dave menam McMan McManaman joining

Us ahead of what’s going to be a fantastic slate of basketball for you here again

Dave McMenamin and Ohm Youngmisuk join Elle Duncan on SportsCenter to preview the Battle for LA as the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Los Angeles Clippers for the final time sharing the Crypto.com Arena before the Clippers move to the Intuit Dome.

  1. Bruh pg ain’t the same he don’t contribute nomore look at the last few games he put up bricks his defense on the perimeter is the only thing been holding him around screens and etc😂🎉my teams the clippers btw

  2. LeNewJuice and refs mix in the pot you know what’s gonna happen 😂 I guarantee they gonna shoot over 25 free throws attempts tonight 😂

  3. So sick of Everytime you look up someone hurt or probable never remember this back in the 90's and that's when B-ball was played 10x harder 🤷🏾‍♂️

  4. My Clippers have a winning record against the Lakers at the so-called House That Kobe Built? We’re 50-46? Even if we lost tonight, we’d still have a winning record over them? I didn’t know that.

All I know is my Clippers were getting destroyed by the Lakers from 1984-2012 when we moved to LA. Then by the start of the 2012-2013 season, we’ve beaten the Lakers over 80% of the time. That’s 12 seasons of dominance while Lakers mostly beat us those first 13 seasons when the arena was still called Staples Center.

I don’t like our chances tonight. We’ve lost 4 of our last 7 and we struggle against guys who are tall and score in the paint. LeBron has no more Batum or Morris Sr. to worry about. Then Clippers have no answer for AD. Even if we still had Batum and Morris, they’re only 6’8, and we would still struggle against elite bigs.

With no Paul George who usually plays well against the Lakers. I think Lakers could very well blow us out. Lakers will use all their length to bother us and then we’ll watch LeBron drive to an open dunk or layup very easily. Or we watch Zubac, Plumlee, and Theis all foul out because the refs needs to give 40 free throws to the Lakers for them to win games.

Clippers did nothing before the trade deadline or during the buyout market. We needed a playmaker and we got him in JH, but we lost two of our POWER FORWARDS which makes it easier for AD and LeBron to score in the paint. Again, even if we still had Batum and Morris, we would still struggle against Denver and Minny.

Ty Lue likely goes small anyway to close games putting Batum at the C. Ty Lue wants his teams to jack tons of threes. My Clippers are just a regular season tease like my San Francisco 49ers. Once the playoffs hit, we find some way to choke or get injured at the worst time.

Paul George, James Harden, and Russell Westbrook are born losers. These guys have already played longer than Magic Johnson and Larry Bird. Longer than Michael Jordan in Chicago. Still no ring. Can’t anybody take a hint that these three historic playoff losers will never win a ring? New logo but same old Clippers.

My Clippers probably peaked too soon like the Philadelphia Eagles. Peaked in the middle of the season only to fade badly late. I’m not sure we’ll even make it passed the First Round with many of the other Western Conference teams playing better than us during the last few weeks. Same old Clippers getting clipped at the end.

    1. Denver Nuggets
    2. Minnesota Timberwolves
    3. Boston Celtics
    4. Miami Heat

^ The Final Four. Perhaps a Denver vs. Miami rematch.

I don’t know why people keep thinking Boston owns the East. We’ve seen this before, and like Kyle Shanahan teams, they find ways to wet the bed. While Miami is the only team to win the East twice since 2019. We keep underestimating Miami and overestimating Boston but the results favors Miami every time.

I will not underestimate Miami again this time. Stephen A. Myth can believe his Knicks will make the ECF but he shouldn’t overlook Miami like everyone did last year.
