Okay. That’s really bad. This season has gone so poorly that I choose to believe we’re actually gonna win it all.
cactusmask
back injuries are no joke
jorgelongo22
shouldve traded him at the deadline.
ProcessTrust856
Back injuries basically don’t get better. You just manage them. This sucks for Melton as he heads for free agency.
LuckyCulture7
This sucks. Melton is a key piece to our starting line up.
mberko21
Feel for him, really like Melton
LordLucasSixers
2024 has been shit so far
mcy33zy
We might just barely sneak into the playoffs at this point..
Hundra187
It all started so so well
And now it’s just a distant memory
jamhamram
I think it’s best to assume we don’t have him and be grateful if he’s on the court come playoff time.
cowboycompton
dude was having a nice season outside of layups
LavishThoughts
This is what I expected to happen with a back injury that’s aggravated by activity. Going to be a shortened career overall probably but I hope it’s not immediate
Immynimmy
I audibly said oh my god when I read the timeline. This team has been cursed every since that 70 point game. God forbid this team has anything positive go for them…
evandobrofo
I don’t know the specifics of his injury as to like what is causing the spasms and stuff but I had a period of time where I pulled my upper back at the gym two or three times in a row a few years ago, and one night I was hit with random back spasms that were so bad that I had to like collapse on the floor and I couldn’t get up for a solid 30 minutes. It was absolutely debilitating. I really hope he recovers soon bc I feel for him
jappixslackbot
just sit him until embiid comes back even if he is feeling better
xicer
Makes sense after he fell directly on his ~~mental health~~ back last game.
Dazzling-Slide8288
Gonna be lucky to make the play-in. Finishing .500 is not remotely out of the realm of possibility given the March schedule.
MumenriderPaulReed69
At least we have our pick this year right?
Successful-Row-6084
I too am out for an inconclusive amount of time.
roma258
Man, we finally got to see his athleticism this year only for his back to flare up again. Tough break. That said, I am excited to see Ricky Council get solid run for the rest of the season.
phl4ever
Damn, I was hoping he was announcing he was out as coach
thesixersdontexist
man this sucks. was really hoping we’d resign him to be part of our core
Niner-Sixer-Gator
I’ve been dealing with a lower back pain since I got hurt on the job back in ’12 , that shit lingers and it’s really easy to reinjure, especially playing sports
aspiringplebeian
Feel for the dude but even more reason he should have been flipped at the deadline.

Shut him down for the rest of the season.
