He forced himself to the bench in 2/3 of the last games in the 4th quarter. His turnover numbers alone in the 4th is pure garbage. His defense is almost like guys don’t even see him on the floor. We thought Fournier was a bad defender. This was the dude that was making him look decent enough to play!
Hes just trying to give Burks confidence. Thats all this is. Its a good move by Thibs since Burks clearly needs it… no need to bash a player thats obviously playing horrendous.

I was really impressed with the Knicks tonight in the ways most important for the playoffs and execution of championship ball
Main reason from Thib’s perspective, was barely playing Burks at all. Burks then came in during the 3rd quarter, when our nice run occurred getting really close. He played decent defense for two possessions, made a decent drive/shot, made a decent pass, then he decided to dribble left into even more traffic, and take the single most selfish “bad shot”, of any player, from either team, the entire night
Then we fouled a player right afterwards, and I thought how perfect, and lucky of a moment it was for us, as even though two minutes of time, it’s time to take Burks out immediately, and not even have to waste a timeout
Never once thought Thibs actually would do it
But it’s exactly what Thibs did!!!
I rejoiced in his growth since 2022-2023, and even moreso this year

You guys put way too much stock in what a coach says in a poat-game presser. Rarely is the coach going to tell you the truth and there’s usually a reason behind what they actually do say.
