  1. That Block on chet going up on my wall first thing in the morning big fella. GOAT energy in that fourth!

  2. French part:

Question : you said that for you the roty race wasnā€™t over yet. For us, it seems to be over already. What do you think would stop you from getting the award?

    Wemby :

ā€œIn my opinion, big time players these days like Embiid, Shai, Giannisā€¦ They donā€™t score 30 one night, then 15 the next then 20. Itā€™s 30 every night. Success in this league is all about consistency. They wouldnā€™t be satisfied of having off nights. Itā€™s an 82 game season You got to perform every night. Thatā€™s this example I wanna follow. I donā€™t even ask myself if itā€™s over or not [the race]. There are 22 games left and I wanna win. So i need to continue to perform

Question : Couple months ago, you said that every game would be a statement. We kinda have the impression that tonight was a strong statement. How important is it for you to do this against the best teams like okc and/or against Chet? Do you think that itā€™s a success for tonight and do you feel like you sent a message to the NBA?

Wemby : ā€œ Itā€™s a success because we won. Statements speaks louder when itā€™s against the top teams in the league. Thatā€™s why itā€™s satisying. Itā€™s the best sensation there is to win the game collectively at home.

Question : can you come back a little bit how you experienced emotionally clutch time tonight? And how did you experience the MVP chants coming from the fans tonight?

[Wemby laughs it off saying that he didnā€™t hear anything šŸ˜‚]

Repeats the q and and ask if it was intense.

Wemby : ā€œOf course, it was intense. I love to watch the reactions of the bench, of the fans in the stands. Thatā€™s what i look at when i rewatch the games or games highlights. I really feed off of this. I love it. Giving fans emotions and more importantly getting my guys on the bench hyped up is the best feeling.

  3. Victor Wenbanyama – French Q&A translated

Q: I want to go back again to the rookie of the year race. You were saying just now that, in your opinion, the race wasn't over against Chet and the others. We feel like the race is concretely over, what could prevent you from getting that award?
A: Well, the way I see it, great players, nowadays especially, the likes of Embiid, Shai, Giannis, they don't put up 30, then 15, then 20. They put up 30 every night. Precision and success have to be there every night, they don't satisfy themselves with just a few good performances. That's the example I'd like to follow.
I don't even ask myself whether or not the ROTY race is over, I want to win games and there are still 22 left, we need to keep on performing well.

Q: Two months ago you were saying that every game from now on would be a statement. It feels like this game was quite the statement. How important is it for you to have these kinds of performances against OKC and Chet, do you feel like you succeeded and sent a strong message to the whole NBA?
A: It was a success because we won. Statements are stronger when made against top teams so it is satisfying. It's the best feeling, collectively, to win games like this, at home especially.

Q: Victor, can you go back to the end of the game, what was your emotional state through it, how did you feel when the crowd chanted "MVP, MVP"
    A: I didn't hear that (chuckle)
Q: Oh you didn't? Ok, how did you take it all in emotionally during that whole end game, the two 3pts shots against Chet, was it intense?
A: What I love to watch are the reactions from the bench and the crowd. When I rewatch the games or the highlights afterwards. I really feed off of this, I love bringing joy to the fans and seeing my mates on the bench cheerful.

  4. I was in the FBC Victor, not one fan was upset with what you said. This is your team and your town, GSG!!!

  5. Trop fier de Wemby ! This game was awesome and he ruled the game. Bye bye Chet ! Cā€™est bon Ƨa !!! šŸŽ‰šŸŽ‰šŸŽ‰šŸŽ‰šŸŽ‰

  6. I'm 40 years old. Lifelong Spurs fan from Singapore. Basketball isn't huge in Singapore, back then when there was no internet, the only way to follow Spurs was to watch out for their results two days after game day on my local newspaper sports section and watch NBA Inside Stuff every Sunday morning. Been supporting the team since the Admiral's rookie year. This game was pretty emotional for me. Seeing Wemby making those 3s and blocking Chet's shot in the last quarter, the way he grabbed the Spurs shirt, and hyping up the Spurs fan, it nearly brought a tear to my eye. I was punching the air like how I was cheering the Spurs when I was a teen. I love this kid, I love his passion, and I love the way he loves Spurs. I hope one day I will be able to witness him lift his championship like how I witnessed Robinson, Elliot and the rest.

  7. I generally don't cheer for the Spurs but damn there fun to watch again. This kid Wemby has the right attitude, even drops very succinct Kobe references. When his teammates finally come to understand how special this dude is and help him facilitate a stronger team-success environment, they're gonna be TOUGH. I'm looking forward to a great stretch-run for them boys.

  8. congratz on the 100K subs ! i remember i did subscribe when spurs won the lottery draft and i believe there was 47k subs.

  9. there's 2 things that i'm hoping for wemby …. 1st,i hope,he won't get injured ….. 2nd,i hope his hairline won't be like lebron once he reaches over 30 years old …… šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£-šŸ¤ŖšŸ¤ŖšŸ¤ŖšŸ¤ŖšŸ¤ŖšŸ¤Ŗ ….. go spurs !!!!!

  10. Ive never been a Spurs fan, but i really hope Victor never gets injured, at least nothing big, he will definitely be in GOAT status when he retires

  11. i'm always baffled by how fast his english has progressed. he speaks better than most native speakers

  12. I'VE BEEN A SPURS FAN SINCE THE DAY MY HERO GEORGE ICEMAN GERVIN ARRIVED 1974 AND I FOLLOWED ICE HIS WHOLE CAREER SINCE ICE WAS PLAYING FOR THE VIRGINIA SQUIRES JANUARY 1973 AND I WAS AT THE HALL OF FAME WHEN ICE WAS INDUCTED MAY 1996 THIS IS HIS SHOTGUN MAN FROM NEW YORK CITY AND I LOOK LIKE JAMES JIMMY SI CAPTAIN LATE SILAS LOVE YOU ICEMAN 51 YEARS

  13. Guys, thanks a lot for the post game interviews, but please PLEASE get better sound, and/or please allow automatic subtitles.
I'm French and had even trouble understanding the questions in french…

  14. a big ā¤ to wemby and all spurs fans. We French have special connection with san antonio thanks to the past with tony Parker . we are far away but you guys spurs fans are in our ā¤

  15. Happy to see the team play well together to get the W! Wemby is a new breed of player though. We are already seeing things we havenā€™t seen before and he is improving so fast. In 3-4 years I canā€™t even imagine how dominant heā€™ll be with that talent and mentality.

  16. As a French fan of NBA (Sorry if my English is not perfect) The last night I loved so much the game and the great spurs fans atmosphere . I had emotions like a playoff game . Thanks to all the Spurs team , thanks to Wemby and Chet for the show , for me Chet is a very good and smart player and Wemby is Wemby , nice rivalry for the future , i think we have to appreciate the both guys . I wish to the spurs family a very good future , Go Spurs Go !!!

  17. I donā€™t think itā€™s too early to start speculating about Wemby in all time great conversations. Obviously he hasnā€™t accomplished anything yet but he clearly is a generational talent.
My view of all time rankings is we shouldnā€™t be comparing players from different eras, the way the game is played evolves so much every 10 years that the sport becomes different. For example just 10 years ago 2013 was arguably Lebrons peak , the scoring average for teams was 98ppg and 20 3s attempted. Chris Bosh as a stretch
    5 attempted 1 3 per game.

Fast forward to now teams the scoring average for 3s is 115ppg and teams attempt 35 3s. Attempting 1 3 for a center is not considered a stretch 5.

    So I rank by tiers

Tier 1 Goat of an Era
    60s Russell vs Wilt
70s Kareem vs Dr J (ABA included)
    80s Magic vs Bird
    90s Jordan vs Hakeem
    00s Duncan vs Shaq
    10s. Lebron vs Steph
    20s.Jokic vs Giannis

    Tier 2
    60s West/ Big O
    70s Barry
    80s Moses
    90s K. Malone
    00s Kobe
    10s Durant
    20s Luka

I have no doubt Wemby is tier 1 talent , thereā€™s no use in comparing him to Kareem or Shaq etc the game was totally different when bigs didnā€™t space the floor and you have to guard on the perimeter and switch everything and vise versa when their was less spacing and physicality in the paint.
