[The Lowe Post] Zach Lowe noted that Coby White (+83) owns the NBA’s highest plus-minus in clutch time, defined as the last five minutes of games where the score is within five points.

When asked for a hint, Lowe described Coby as “a zero time All Star, unlikely to ever make an All Star team, having a little bit of a breakout year with a mediocre team.” When he reveals that it’s Coby Lowe’s guest, ESPN’s Chiney Ogwumike, says he sold Coby short because he’s having a “full on break out,” not a “little bit of a breakout.”

Elsewhere, Drew Stevens notes that the 2023-24 Bulls have outscored their opponents by 21.2 points per 100 possessions in the clutch. https://x.com/lookwhatdrewdid/status/1763223851087921170?s=20

coby is going to be jamal murray lite. Rather have coby than trae/lamelo/garland type who suck without the ball and don’t play defense. Having an actual franchise pg like coby is massive, unfortunately we don’t have jokic/giannis/wemby tier player so until we get one we won’t be competing for championships. But having coby is a good start if you want to look at the bright side.

If we don’t keep DeMar in the offseason Coby is going to have a huge 24-25 season.

This is total +/-. So this is mostly because the Bulls haven’t been able to put opponents away and more of our wins come down to the wire than other teams. Coby, Derozan, and Vuc are #1 #2 and #3 in total clutch minutes.

Vucevic has more total +/- than Steph Curry or Lebron…because he’s played 142 clutch minutes compared to Steph’s 120 or Lebron’s 100.

I’m never going to take Vuc over Steph or Lebron to take a game winning shot.
