Was played relatively well in the first half and the second half you know I do think that the effort’s there but you know we gave up 40 points in the paint in the second half alone the first half we had done a great job of protecting
The paint they had 22 points in the paint um they’d made a bunch of Threes in the first half which can happen they made some tough ones Jimmy makes a step back in the corner to start the game um and they’re a good team and the second
Piece of that is the turnovers like I think we had nine or 10 turnovers in the second half um and it allowed them to to get out and run a little bit it’s probably where some of those points in the paint came from um you know I think we
Saw how we want to play for the most part in the first half that’s a tough physical team um that’s a team that’s that’s been through a lot together in the playoffs and I thought we handled ourselves really well to start the game um you know Jimmy got away from us
Especially in the second half half you know it’s another opportunity for Taylor to get to guard a premier Wing player um and there were just some moments where you know his feet are a little bit too open and Jimmy’s a really physical player and took advantage of it um he
Did a good job the entire game Jimmy Butler did of you know drawing contact drawing fouls um and it puts you in a tough spot but I think overall the effort was good from the team um you know just got A little sloppy in the second
Half what led to I guess the failure to kind of protect things in the pain in the second half um you know I feel like it’s some of it is just the fear of the three um guys make shots over a hand and then the next time down you’re half a slide
Closer to them um you know we’re trying to develop that sort of mental and emotional numbness that’s needed in those moments to not really worry about the fact that they may have made a shot on the previous possession from the perimeter because our objective is to protect the paint um outside of that
It’s you know technique on the ball not doing a good enough job guarding the ball one on one um you know they scored I think it’s something like 30 points in isolation tonight and you know help is necessary but we want to get to a place where the person
On the ball is doing a good enough job that there’s not as much help that’s needed because then it starts to put you in really long Closeouts some of that
