Not athletic or in shape, though. He wipes the floor with so-called athletes every night. Some people need to reconsider their thought process there.
**Edit: From Merriam-Webster**
Athlete (noun) – a person who is trained or skilled in exercises, sports, or games requiring **physical strength, agility, or stamina**
Which of these does Joker not have?

People here have to really rethink what being athletic and in shape is. Luka had the same criticisms and yet these two guys are some of the most freakishly talented and consistent players.

Yeah but he didn’t play a single game in 2014 so really is he all that

When you watch him it looks like someone who has mastered his craft

That’s such a big thing when talking about valuability as well. You can’t play fifty games and talk about being *valuable* to your team

A lot of athletes didn’t have burek growing up tho.

Being built like a horse and not playing a style dependent on elite mobility definitely helps.

Wow this guy is pretty valuable I would say…

Man is really probably conditioned . He fixed himself considerably more after that first warriors series . Very impressive to me he is the face of the nba. Cuz last person to play this many games consistently was lebron

He’s also the most humble athlete in the history of professional sports ♥️

Less explosive= less injury prone

I always thought the knock on him and Luka not being athletic was funny, you could not possibly be a top 5 player in the world without being a freak athletically. Just because they look janky sometimes does not mean they aren’t athletic.
Also, wouldn’t them not being athletic just mean that their peaks are gonna last a really long time because they don’t rely on athleticism?

Gotta give him his props. He doesn’t look athletic but is always good to go. I just wish Embiid could match his durability. Those two and Giannis would have been even more fun to watch the past 8+ years

It’s hard to get injured running specifically at your pace, jumping 2 inches off the ground and not being allowed to get touched. Per the NBA rules. Not as impressive when you watch a Hakeem or David Robinson vintage game. But kiddos to the guy anyway.

How many arm scratches has he suffered in that time? Every post game you see the results of opponents’ “defense” against him.

He also played 65 minutes in an NBA Playoff game. Which is the most since 1953. In 1953, 3 players played 67 and 66 minutes.
Jokic has stamina. He might not be a windmill dunker, but he’s able to keep going when others aren’t.

KCP being 3rd on the list is impressive also.

This sub loves some Jokic and Luka

Michael Porter Jr talked about how intense Jokic’s routine in the weight room after games is, said he goes through sets without taking breaks, which reminds me of what people say about Steph’s workouts. I know it won’t happen but I’d love to see what the 2 hours after a game looks like for Jokic.

He reminds me of those heavyweight boxers who aren’t chiseled just lighting the really defined guys up. At first glance your like “this fight is not fair” and you’re right but in the wrong way.
